People from the Deaf Community held a forum yesterday, talking about the issues of casting a hearing person to play a deaf role in the play. The play follows a boy who is the only deaf member of a Family Living in london. Tcr says no deaf actors showed up to auditions and they to selecting actors. The actors are all volunteers and do not get paid. Robert vizzini, a chairman for the cedar Rapids Association of the deaf, spoke through an interpreter, saying he doesnt understand why no one from tcr reached out to him about the play. ,its not hard to communicate with the Deaf Community.
