Good evening and welcome to more bacon please everything food everything restaurants in northern Colorado area we have an amazing show for you tonight we have Mick here from the foodie trail welcome Eric Hey there guys thanks for being here and is a wonderful Australian accent you know we can't leave home without it it's. Issued with that when we leave the country are not allowed to change it so ladies turn up here radio down. Or in your back we have. Attack my co-host Welcome back no I miss everyone what the heck is going on where you been where have I been gosh what we had Thanksgiving last week and I did not want to come in all you know days away now it was not not appropriate I made I made the call you appreciate that yeah I was like no I need to see this. While also to you we have been just you and I holiday hustle and because I'm a cop now a holiday hustle Yeah so right now is the slower time of the year for restaurants yes it is the not. Talking about worst fears that music and. So we have some tips on holiday marketing and some things that we are doing that we want to share with you how to get some folks in while it's slow like this because we soft pay the bills Yes and our employees yes that's part of our bills. Here and you know Ok so a couple tips I have right now what I'm doing and I saw that you're doing as well we're hustling gift cards huge right because gift cards are great I don't know what the percentage of is that people actually don't read them I hope the people. Actually reading them because I was like butts in seats but getting gift card sales are wonderful right now I'm doing buy 25 by 30 get 5 free you're doing by 25 get 5 free similar deals Yeah what was really cute the other day I was in the Fort Collins stuff and somebody came up and he goes hey I want to get a gift card for my wife and I said Ok great and he said Can I take one of your colored menus home I said well I just printed these are kind of expensive and he goes No I want one I said Ok whatever you want so what he was doing was he made his wife a basket of local gift cards is that on so here's what I'm thinking and I'm asking you this right now is a we should advertise an idea of here are the local places Here's an idea buy for a friend from these local places and make yourself a basket I want to get I know I know so this guy was super sweet and so we're hustling our gift cards big time and you sell yours online too right we do digital Yeah you can purchase it online we just decided not to those little gift cards are like a dollar apiece and it's just used in there in a way so ours you can you have an option to print it out if you want something tangible which you like I say 50 percent of the time like when we donate gift cards they're going to be printed out but yeah it can be sent directly to your phone through e-mail or text so it literally comes up on your phone you come in and it has the q.r. Code and you just scan it to I mean you have toast now yeah scan it takes takes it off it shows you the balance and. It's actually worked pretty well I mean 2 and a half years in and people are still buying them so so we're hustling the gift cards yet another thing that you know you're both doing catering this we've always in catering so yes yes why do you like catering so much you know catering because in-house business is typically down this time of year could. Catering is huge because now you're just you're still getting food out bigger doing like a book order for a 20 people are 15 people and we had you know it's just so funny how this works it's like last week we were we got a little bit busier but then we had catering like almost every single day and so tons of holiday parties are going on so if we're not able to book a holiday party and house then at least were getting food out to and most of the catering that I did last week they were all new customers too which is really cool . But yeah just that you know we love catering it's just a great way to get mass amount of food out and usually to new customers you know what you have you guys have done a great job a 2nd tack on the marketing end of things and I've seen a lot of people compliment you like oh you guys are such a great job on social media and how do you get catering customers like can you share a couple tips for like people that are just starting up like here's how I kind of engage with this and get these people to come in so. That hustle that we're always talking about right like putting yourself out there I did an interview last week through the Chamber of Commerce and talking about. The hustle in getting out there putting yourself out there immersing yourself and I cry about once a quarter maybe twice a year I'll go out to all the big businesses all the corporations and I'll go and drop off menus I'll go drama some samples I'll drop off the catering menu and the way I run my catering because I do handle all the catering is you know customer service like we we we transition it to email or phone call so it's one on one personalizing customizing orders because there's so many dietary restrictions going on right now that people want no cheese they want free bread they want vegan they want vegetarian and so. Working with those types of orders has been huge for us but the follow up every single order that I take out I follow it up with an e-mail how did everything to how did everything go did everybody enjoy it and until this day it's always been a positive feedback but then also reaching out late to customers are larger crowd customers c.s.u. New ball gem a dollar Hey we haven't seen an order in a while just want to let you know even offering like a discount 10 percent off your order if you want to place an order but it's it's that top of mind which goes along with the whole social media thing so I've been posting a ton about catering on my personal page too because as you know. Algorithm with Facebook and Instagram most people they're not always seeing your messages so even when you feel like you're repeating yourself a lot you're still not reaching everybody so I always go back to that notion of you know I think the 10 percent of your followers actually see your feed and what's going on with it so being consistent with it keep putting it out there doing it in new ways just meeting people out you know we do those offsite events Oh do you do catering Absolutely I bring a little catering thing there so there's lots of different avenues to do it but yeah one thing I'm going to is also work on is just to get new customers again is just going to offices and shop. Off more sandwiches it's the hustle it is only the hustle and even if you are stablished and even if you've been in business for 20 years you still need to do the hustle there's always new customers Yeah specifically specifically with Northern Colorado we have such a huge growth going on that we have so many people moving here and you're always around new customers and then you have to remind people of why they should be coming to you so if you haven't seen someone for a while you see him out hey come again get yourself a sandwich and a beer Here's the free beer card that kind of thing but your it's talking about it . Someone gave me some really great advice this is actually their beauty counter or someone one of the other gal she had said it would if you're not talking about your business your business is not open Yeah and it's so true there's opportunity everywhere I think you know how to sell your business the best like nobody is going to sell your business better than you are absolutely it's just what it is time to Ok let's talk about events because I love to book at the restaurants events right so right now I've got stuff to Windsor Santa Claus is coming Santa is this is the funniest thing at my house course we all believe in Santa right Santa will call my phone. And I'll text Santa. And then of course you know I threaten the boys you know my 3 and 5 year old that I'm going to call Santa. He's on my phone anyway as the but I have him coming and stuff to Windsor next Tuesday night at 535-3730 I pay Santa treats k k 9 to say what I pay him by paying treats cookies and milk to arrive in to say hi to the kids and it's a kid's night right so I really feel like that to me is worth it because I just love doing it love to the kids seeing the kids' faces but these little events do help bring people in and just exposure right now because people get stuck in their homes and they're all going to go over to where they know to go to right Were there some kind of special event they are more likely to come and you are doing the gingerbread thing. Yes I love I love this event it's so much fun just because it's fun for all ages and this year we decided to do cookie decorating on top of it just because it's it adds a little bit more so like if the kids you're bored with the gingerbread house because sometimes it can be challenging for the little ones but I personally like to do that in your house myself. Just like Steve Gandy. But yeah we didn't we're going to do the cookie decorating this time and then we're throwing in hot chocolate and you get a you know a beverage of choice alcoholic nonalcoholic as well so if mom wants the wine and the kid wants to do that in her house making that's what we got but we actually so we sold out so I actually just went and bought more gingerbread houses and I I know we have now we have a 3 more tickets left this is Thursday 632830 at snack attack you know where your Christmas sweater get fast I have. I was I'm in the spirit so it's kind of stuff it's just it's fun any ideas it's like seeing the kids and getting out of your house and doing something all different you know when it going out your Santa thing I think Rex and to just a farm this past weekend and I had free Santa pictures and I was like so crazy here there were so many kids there but we waited we had it it was worth it. We have to take a break in a 2nd but what I do want to say is Do not discount this time of year because you're freaking out stay tuned to talk about that after the break. Ok. It's time. To search. For a. Really good everything restaurant the Northern Colorado area we have make here from the foodie trail in just a 2nd here to talk to us about what he does I love the Beach Boys I love the Christmas music and the beach but you know we lit up because we're California guy you know like well like yeah. My dad over here my good outlook is not California happy. Not a big fan of Christmas music bug. And Bieber on there. He would love that it stays like. A human removed from the studio. Security. Camera I carry removed. I'm thinking He's a tenacious d. Kind of guy. Ok yeah I think the m.x. Has a good holiday song we should all of that anyone heard of King Diamond No and I like their holiday so why don't you fire and let him do a database of music selections we can play that. Yes I feel like getting the Ok This show is sponsored by Journey employment solutions Lauren why do you like Journey to level the journey why do you like them so much. The people you talk about all the time Kevin and Ashley there are just amazing people and they support us and they help promote us and if you have any issues they take care of it right away and I mean we've never had any issues and if there was a small issue it's just call him calling up walk over they take care of it. And they're competitively priced yet local they're saying yeah them a word to the wise if you own restaurants near listening right now have your employees update their addresses please on their w. Force because if they didn't work for you anymore or maybe next year they said not to work for you they need to update their addresses Yes yes. Ok so that you so much for the payroll before the break we were talking about the holiday slowness at restaurants and what we are going to do to bring business in we have been doing these things so we have been hustling catering as we've been hustling gift cards like bandits also to I just want our mind you do not throw out discounts crazy don't start doing 2 for ones when you just start to kind of throwing money at the problem and just discounting things just to get people in 1st of all let's not make any money right because you are discounting huge You're probably just throwing away your profit and 2nd of all when you start discounting heavy people now start expecting that discount year round that is a frightening thing if you think about blackjack pizza pizza whatever some of the chains you don't order pizza unless you find the coupon you always find the coupon because you expect them to have coupons right so be careful when you go down that discount road I like targeted discounts so a good example of a targeted discount would be if you have Instagram followers target your Instagram followers say thank you for being an Instagram follower for our followers for 4 days 3 days whatever we're do. Especial followers promotion and it's this it's not a discount it's a promotion thank you for being a loyal follower Here's a 5 dollar gift card I just did some of those last week that's why I mentioned that and I emailed you or text you and said How do I mask Yeah mass message can someone help us out here we do not know how to mass message or Instagram followers can somebody help I don't think you can I don't think you can and I don't think you can on Facebook either and Zuber frustrating when you're sending out of and have to click every single person it's crazy so when you spend 8 hours and. Anyways but targeted things targeted events too we talked about snack attacks doing a gingerbread making I'm doing a Santa thing over it stuffed burger doing anything for that or ends teachers whatever you can do I mean those I do call promotions it's great that we're giving back to the community but that's also bringing in new people so it is also a promotion it's a feel good it's you're doing a good thing for the community but you're also pretty people and so be careful of discounts more and you have any other tips to bring folks in during the slow time I think you know trying to figure out like in the marketing world doing something a little different so whether you decide to feature a specific menu item that's a little different maybe has a different price point also talking about merchandise too because this is a great time of your kind of goes along with gift cards but you know doing promos on your merchandise. But yeah I do agree stay away from that discounting that was one tip when we 1st opened somebody it was like Don't discount house like but people want to deal now you know because now they're going to expect every time and he specifically said that he was like look at Macy's you don't go shopping at Macy's unless if you got you know in Coles and all that kind of like Gosh you're right and they've been there struggling businesses and you don't want to get caught in that. And one thing I have realised is people they understand the value of your food they're going to come in and get your food right a lot of times when we run specials they don't take the special like they're not going for the $2.00 old i.e. They're going for. $8.00 snatches. Ok great. Perfect so it's value make sure that you are you know obviously pricing your menu items right that you value people will pay Yeah Ok last thing I want to talk about before we get to making the foodie trail is the infamous Facebook post that I post about this last weekend I was hilarious so. So you know the comments were very interesting to me and so I've been working in Fort Collins a lot lately because now that lonesome block here really is open up I needed to kind of pivot back to the stuffed burgers and I was tending bar this day in I had had a couple guests come in a couple of tables where they'd tip to me a certain amount but then they added that the math was wrong and so that ended up with the total like I kind of just had to guess what they meant to tip and what they meant the total to be and I couldn't figure out like I thought maybe I was going crazy you know so one of my staff members I said Look at this receipt am I going crazy like what is going on here like nobody can add today right so in my book My policy is I always give the guests the benefit of the doubt right so let me pull up my example here it's going to take a 2nd to load and this happens a lot I think that's one thing to talk like I remember when I was working my way more like full service style trying to look at these receipts sometimes you're like that doesn't make any sense but I agree you kind of have to understand why people are going out there enjoying themselves maybe they had one or 2 drinks forgot how to add correctly but yeah you don't you don't want to like take the money that maybe wasn't what they meant and so in this specific instance this again was my receipt so the comments are funny because I know exactly how I handled this they all read the comments Ok so the purchase was $56.32 I promise you she meant to tip me $14.00 I gave great service I talked to him the entire time they were loving it we had such a great. I'm they so they meant to tip me $14.00 she told of that though where it was only $60.32 so that if I took it by the total that she wrote it only would have left a $4.00 tip right but I know she meant to leave $14.00 Ok And so it's weird because the tip line says $14.00 and the one of the 14 is a little bit darker like maybe if I was shady I wrote in the one of course I might not do that I so she told of the total it out incorrectly she should have told another $10.00 more to to make it where the $14.00 made sense if you don't understand what I'm saying please go to our Facebook page it makes sense on there it's Ok So again people total things out wrong in the server ends up getting the wrong tip I think most servers would have taken the full tip so I agree some totally where shady not all shady you know you're you're in the money to make you're in the business to make money right with that's that's your income basically right and I knew I gave them such good service that this was a mistake but again I took the lower amount and what did I do I took the receipt and walked around all my staff and told them what I did because I said Hey just so you guys know if this ever happens you take the lesser amount you cannot take the $14.00 Yeah dollar point yeah and you know people not everybody but a lot of people do look at the receipts and they may come back and question that yeah you did end up taking the wrong amount and you know and you know you don't want to customer to have a bad taste like that so I will just read you a couple quick comments really of 2 minutes left in the segment but merely says Take that tip 100 percent it's not your any service servers fault that the public is stupid and can't do basic math but ask your manager what to do 1st kids hang loose sign and then this this one guy said. Wirtz said this waitress waiter is a thief the one is a forgery added on to the 4 to change it to a 14 because they felt like they got too small of a tip. They probably did a bad job and only deserve the $4.00 tip that when I was dying I'm dying too because it was me I know you know that you know I'm actually only took the $4.00 so that's why now it's funny he got really upset and then Taylor Worthington said that he agreed with him Taylor used to work for me that's why that song. And. Tom also said they marked that one with a different pen in different hand I thought that was so funny he put a lot of comment he did and I really appreciate that you know I appreciate that because he doesn't know that it was me so you're thinking on both sides of the coin right as somebody is a server trying to be shady is the guest at fault in this case the guest was at fault Yeah but the lesson is take the lesser temp you have to break when we come back it's everything. I mark this is going to transporter brought you by car store being out of shape is no joke more for this record store. A car star repair hundreds of different makes and models but the name on the car isn't nearly as important. The name of the person owns it because a car star you don't just repair cars repair your car there's only one market in the world and our expert technicians treat it that way if you're ever in need of collision or strong down from there look for or ask your insurance company about the nearest car start the auto body repair center with Nationwide guarantee when a guy is 1st of all and be in the pride of the city we tend to get defensive Well siders are anything but totally respectful how dare anyone criticize Nicola Ok so what if he's not a bodybuilder he's still the best seller in the league but after being badly out play the whole lost the Lakers by not just Anthony Davis which is forgivable but also by jail McGee and white Howard the national media didn't hesitate to go back to the Nicole your kids to get in shape narrative you know what maybe they're right the Joker does look like himself lately he looks listless play for the Serbian national team last summer took a toll on him he was of the same energy you were in shoot the ball now other guys play for their countries over the summer and they're fine so maybe you'll get as tired because the condition level isn't where it should be can we least consider it as if it's all a joke or will come to realize the fountain of youth it's located in the weight room markets and that's going to corner journey payroll is a full service payroll provider that ties h.r. Vehicle gets repaired think about it when you get into an accident you become a liability paying as little as possible becomes their biggest priority I just run an estimate on a brand new Nissan Altima the insurance company's handpick shop or an estimate for $800.00 the actual cost of repairs was over $3200.00 Wait a minute how is that even possible they hope you don't fix the car and take the check instead they just save themselves thousands in my world I call that stealing in the insurance world they call it cost containment I have a moral obligation to fix your car right that's why I refuse to participate in these scams and you don't have to either if you've got questions give me a call at 356864. This is. Christmas and the holidays are here we have a great selection of gifts. From. Gold to diamond tennis bracelets and price ranges and don't. Collect. 104 years a Christmas tradition 15550. Or visit us on the. News . Back to more bacon please everything through everything restaurant the show is sponsored by Journey employment solutions during the break we were speaking about tipping So let's bring it up on the air I told you to turn the recorder on because we want to talk about it on the air Ok I do this is part of my training for my servers How do you know if you are a good server make what do you tip every time you go out to 20 percent what if your server is not very great what do you tip I tip the same amount 20 percent Lauren what about you. Because I've been in the business for a long time I slide that. Ok. I'll definitely still to write like 20 percent if you like did great. If you did a really crappy job you'll get like 10 percent because I do agree you should. Come it's part of their job. But I don't want to tip somebody and make them think that they're doing a good job when they're not just because I've been there so what if they do a great job what do you tip article extra 25 percent make Ok this is my point now and I do this is part of my server training if you are server How do you know that you're a bad server. But not if you tip like that which is kind of a good thing right but Nick does a tape like this even if he has a bad server he tips 20 percent so my point is why do this training how do you know you're an excellent server you get over 20 percent because obviously 20 percent is a standard even if you're not that great of a server you're probably still hover around the 20 percent if you. An excellent server your mark is over 20 percent you do not shoot for 20 percent you shoot for 2530 percent because you're doing a great job but they don't know you guys they don't know they go oh great I had a wonderful night I made 20 percent it's like well actually I saw you didn't get refills over here and then these guys waited a forever for the napkins and I put aside I say you know they're just giving you the minimum you need to shoot for over the minimum right so what do we do as consumers do we change our tipping habits or would we just going to say we tip 20 percent yeah I don't know I mean I all there I like high school in college I supported myself through restaurant through serving in bartending so. I don't think everybody has the experience or I don't know the intuition that you know as far as customer service goes and the standard that you need to hold as a great server but you're also going to run into the people that just don't tip through no matter what you know I don't know if you are phenomenal Some people are just on the cheaper side and they decide not to tip you know what I mean or get up within a strike and he's fresh off the boat and we do have to patrol guy you know that it's not just a very tall and a strike because the minimum wage is $17.00 an hour well we're getting there we're getting there may also you know we're aware we're tearin it were done over how that was a big sister. Ok so here's the thing with minimum wage we bring it up all the time is we would love to pay all of our service $15.00 an hour I would love to be able to afford to do that yeah afford is the keyword Yeah it has to come from somewhere so if we all want to pay our service $15.00 an hour your burgers and sandwiches will be $15.00 apiece that's what they will be and so as long as everybody's Ok with that we're cool with it or the owners make no money right and then what's the point of staying open I wouldn't if you came in pay or something like this is a business you know yeah stuff so I like a current situation but of course their minimum wage is going up again on the 1st I already raise my prices because I don't have another option right right and it's bound to happen I mean that's we talk about it all the time when we actually talk about it as I get back with customers and we told them you know this is a cause and effect situation where is that my going to kind of come from either we can we can try and keep our prices at this where it's at or it's we have to raise prices or you're not going to get as much food for you for that price right now to start taking menu items off are greedy and I know is off which is something we're actually looking at some of our summer items were to start taking off a cot off because all the car has been so dang expensive that you know Ok well at least we keep the price the same brand. If you want to add avocado you don't have to pay extra So to avoid increasing prices but we're also going to be severely reducing discounting for something that we have been discounting for Arena start stop discounting for stuff and you know you're going to have to stop doing certain promos so it's going to it does it has come from somewhere and. Yeah business owners understand. If you want to learn more about what's going on with minimum wage the restaurant association is really trying hard to lobby for a no more minimum wage increases so if you want to join their crew their Restaurant Association the National Restaurant Association you should do that but again to tip what you feel like you need to tip I'm with make I'm a 20 percent are usually no matter what you really got to piss me off to get under 20 percent Oh yeah yeah but you know we all want everybody to do well so just if you are listening take note if you're a server make over 20 percent how do you do that and come take my class if you want anyway Ok so now we want to talk about Mick with the foodie trail welcome mic Hey guys thanks for having us on. So tell us what is the foodie trail so the foodie trial is a. Program that we set out through a local Rotary Club one of the Rotary Clubs in Fort Collins and it all started a long time ago in a galaxy far far away star wars time of the so it started a long time ago a couple years ago now and one of our Rotarians was in Bend Oregon and came across the band io trial which is. An app that is sponsored by the local Chamber of Commerce to promote the local breweries in band and so he kind of came back and thought you know maybe we could turn this into a fundraiser of some sort so for our local Rotary Club that would be sort of sustainable and it would just roll on it year after year and so a group of us got together actually we started we created a software platform and to create these trials where you can get offers at local businesses but when you buy a trial pass which is how you get the office then you end up choosing what charity that money goes to and so this sort of win win win on everything is that the consumer is sort of getting a an offer of some sort and then the businesses particularly if you're a small business is the way to generate boots coming through your door so we can kind of get people coming to your business after that it's up to you right to keep them as a customer and. And then the 3rd thing is that the business is a basically making the donation to charity Ok so and that's really so the foodie trial is a foodie trays of food trial in Fort Collins and currently have about 18 businesses on it and we'll probably get up to about 30 Ok so the trial pass cost $30.00 and you get about $200.00 worth of value for it and then as we continue to add businesses to it because where we started a couple of months ago and then as we have it will continue to add businesses to it but if you've already. Trial partial get those automatically added to your trial but also it's a digital at Feel Ok so what So if you are a restaurant or a business what offered like what kind of deal are you looking to give like what do they need to give here so the what we've tried to do tried to make it is that ultimately the value that you pay for the trial pass you should as a you as the consumer you should get about 10 expects So if the trial pass cost $30.00 you should get about $300.00 worth of value back from the from the trial from that for that and so for example the foodie trial where doing about $10.00 an average of $10.00 value so you can work out however you want to pass that out as your business so it might be. $10.00 off a $50.00 purchase or the $10.00 or $100.00 purchase that's completely kind of up to you but what we're trying to do is sort of keep that value ratio going of about 10 to one so it's funny we just talked so much about marketing in bringing people and it's pervy. In so this is the kind of discounting that I'm behind because Lauren it costs us so much money to get new customers and it's expensive to get a man I mean some things are easier than others word of mouth whatever but it costs a lot of money to get new folks in so this is great this is to me a great weight you're helping out charity you're getting like you said Boots in the door so and again for the for the charity piece of it makes me want to be involved it's incredible to get on it I know it's great when we come back more about the food. Bacon please everything food everything. It's everything foodie trail with make here. So we were discussing the food you trail and you have the ale trail and how do we get on the Do we need to stock you because Did Lauren stock you to get onto the platform she was like the bloody Terminator. And relenting in her tenacity and. It was the contact that is Multan she didn't quite fit the profile for the trial but your unrelenting tenacity was what one thing yeah the girl. Got to be on it yeah I have so many beers and I. You know I have like a sandwich and I'm like No we are not just really not going to come in and give us a try yeah that a girl and you're an excellent sandwich shop you're my new favorite place in Fargo . Yeah I remember because I would see your figure posters and all the breweries now thank God that's so cool we're so close we literally are on Spring Creek Trail where we have so many people coming in for beers that you know we you're right we are not we don't always typically fit into that mold I think that's what makes not attack stand out and be able difference because we're literally not just a sandwich shop and we're not just like a top room you know we're a little bit of both and we do a lot of events and all that kind of stuff but we get a lot of mail trailers you know I'm glad we were able to make it work out yeah you know it's been fantastic and I and you know it's interesting about all of these trials like I always think about with particular with the I'll try all right it helps get me out of my comfort zone like Otherwise I'd just end up at Odell's every bloody time right right so this forces me to go and actually sample of the. Breweries and particularly some of the smaller breweries that might not have a lot of notoriety is that and that and the big appeal like ideals and you Belgium have. Gets it gets you out of your comfort zone and you go go exploring and I'm going to ask you what obviously people are hearing your accent what got you connected and what got you here and how did I mean I know that's a long story we only have 8 minutes let's do the short version of how the heck are you here and what happened you know. Leave a strike in their early twenty's and a they do we what we call the Grand 2 up so we leave a stranger we go backpacking around the world and then we go back to Australia fairly convinced it's the only place you'd ever want to live and you never leave there again yeah so that's basically how it was so I left on that so I left with a backpack and $300.00 and $1.00 way ticket to London and geez I've never been back and so I've lived all over the place and. Went back to my masters at a and m. And then moved up here about 25 years ago so I actually live longer in Fort Collins I am a lived in Australia actually. I love it here it's fantastic yeah you don't want to live in Australia I don't know it sounds nice right now it's dry is it's bloody It's really really good it's a great place I don't love going back there but you know I've been away for 35 years now yeah so I've heard that cheeseburgers are very good hey listen just because we put beetroot on our cheese but what is that if you guys should try that in fact I mentioned that to you and so we don't put pickles on burgers typically So we actually put beet pickled beets once you've had a pickle bait on a burger you'll never go back on the train so sometimes you know you do that yeah yeah yeah I actually pickle my own beats with my mom's recipe and yeah let's have a big you know we go back. To say I like a lot of like beets in my salad Yeah I love it I like beets no one in my family likes them so I can't eat them yeah anything. That darker color has got to be good for 100 percent. We should try to know it's like making me want to eat healthier and I'm going to look at the new holiday recipe for failure. From either I do I do thinks giving burger that sells pretty well yeah I just I didn't I didn't do the Christmas burger the show I just I did I have I have to tell you our burger killed it you know your snack attack or surgery when I think. We're going to add it to the many and agree we're still coming in asking for it it's good and there's like no burger place like a good burger place in our part of town so I take it on that opportunity is not into string and enter string that you know maybe will be across the street from yeah I don't think that you know what that's different and is different in our burgers different I personally don't like in and out I don't want to letters I don't like their fries and their shakes I just talked about this I have we're going to get there and I mean again. Remember I had a really bad experience with 0 out there you see that on the air last time or was that private I don't know what happened there or something or a ball hairball in the sauce in this in that I took a bite of and I saw the. So you know this is Ok out right after I had Braxton the hospital was up and we're going to help us in California in a now the you know we always went to it was literally like great on the street in after I gave birth I was like go get me a burger and it was good so I did overcome my fear but I I think you're burgers are better than in and out well I mean to be completely honest I think our borders are better better that in and out but I understand in outraise case I get it I'm just down for fries and shakes and yeah I'll take one of our burgers for the hairball I never see such a great visual as I told you not my favorite place Ok so let's give it back to the foodie trail and the trail if somebody wants to be part of the foodie trail like they are a customer how do I find your app so the app is available it's the the I. It is available on the app stores and there's a an overarching app called donor trial and stands for donations making donations to charity because the app was really built around raising money for charity so you can download the app it's called donor trial. And then download that and then you can register on the platform select which trail you want to hike and we've actually got a lot of trials there's a lot in Colorado and expanded this out to lots of different locations so it's in we have a trial in Oregon we have a couple trials in Washington. Concent we have a trial Wyoming Sherrilyn Wyoming has a pub trail and. There's the $50.00 to $80.00 l. Trail in Westminster in the NY What tasting trail which is sort of like a foodie trail but you know they're all kind of advice to around the same thing at all around raising raising money for charity while we love it and I see you were telling me that you raise over $40000.00 yeah so it's been the full Collins's been with most established trail so between the foodie trail and the training in Fort Collins we've raised over $40000.00 about $40000.00 I think and then we've actually generated about $11000.00 just take the stats this 111300 visits to businesses in Fort Collins in the last 2 years because because we when we when people redeem their right there their offer they can they we can track that yeah yeah pretty incredible I'm going to run some of the charities on there just so I now yes so we've actually done so we change them up each year and so this year we actually have. Adoption dreams come true which is and I got in our agency they're fantastic that's really cool and then we've got mc backpack and that's a really interesting one so there are a whole bunch of kids within the school district that don't have. Access to food. On the weekends and things like that so every Thursday at I think it's 1st Presbyterian on a corner of college and Mulberry. There's a bunch of volunteers go in there and we pack bags of food for kids and we pack hundreds like for $500.00 of these a week and then they go to the schools and distribute them to the schools and then the kids who are identified as being needy enough to have these get to take a bag of food that will feed a family of 4 for over the weekend kind of thing well that's incredible. Back to backpack like McDonald's except Mick backpack. And then teaching 3 early childhood learning center is another one of our Another one of our beneficiaries and then the we also have a couple of ones that are rotary specific So there's the rotary Foundation which is for polio eradication and. It's been really one of the prime drivers of eradicating polio in the world so in $95.00 there's 350000 cases of polio last year there was less than 30 I think and that's all really been driven by Rotary and so you can select to give money to that and that's actually good because we have a we get a $2.00 for $1.00 match more every dollar with the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation and of course if you can't decide we have an all button as well. Well we have to wrap the show up leave it out it goes so quickly but make I really appreciate what you're doing for the community I would love to be on both platforms so we can talk about that later but you so much more it's good to have you back Arthur stated next week make sure you check out foodie and trail Thanks guys.
