Initially, police only knew about three victims, but just a short time ago, they say a fourth victim with a gunshot wound walked into the bay view police station. Police right now are still continuing to look for four suspects who ran westbound on brazil. The only information we have about those suspects is that they were wearing dark hoodies, and dark jeans. Police say they believe that one of the students may have been targeted and when First Responders got to the scene because victims moved inside of the school, they believed they had an active shooter. Officers responded immediately, they thought this is an active shooter. They saw the victims inside of the school. They started to do a search by search immediately just to look for the suspect thinking that the suspect might be in the school shooting. We found out after the fact this did not happen inside of the school, but outside of the school. There will be extra security and extra grief counselling for the students tomorrow. The shooting went on here in the parking lot or near the stairs. I saw people running through the highway and i thought it was a prank. Something was going on. But by the look on everybodys faces its just something you cant fake. Again, ter yi fiing for students and parents. Police do not know if the four suspects theyre looking for are also students here at the school. They could not say how many of those four suspects might be armed. School Officials Say school will be open tomorrow, as you heard, during that interview there will be extra grief counsellors but they say that based on what happens with the search, that could change. Reporter we know two of the students were shot at the school and theyre here at San Francisco general hospital. I spoke with a woman who identified herself as the eldest sister of a 16yearold boy who was shot. She says that he in stable condition. Now, i also spoke with a man who identified himself as the uncle of a 15yearold girl who was shot, presumably shes in Critical Condition. Now, as melanie said there is a third person shot at that school, he was another boy, we believe hes also in stable condition. The fourth boy that melanie was talking about was a walk in. Apparently he walked into bay view station with what is most likely minor injuries. We dont know for sure. We dont know what hospital he was taken to, or if he was even taken to a hospital. So according to our count there are four people who were shot. Four young people, who were shot at the school, two of them here at San Francisco general. A third at st. Two people tried to run away and were hit by a passing car. Investigators say people were trying to run across the lanes when struck. The driver wont face charges. Investigators dont know why the people tried to run. Two uc Berkeley Students were allegedly Sexual Assaulted saturday night at two off Campus Fraternity houses. Students are being reminded to take precautions for personal safety. Both female students were at parties put on by two fraternities the night before. The Police Department received two reports of alleged Sexual Assaults that happened near the university. One is located on piedmont avenue, known as fraternity row. The other, on the 2400 block of prospect avenue. She says she and her friends are aware of the alleged assault. Its just shocking like uc berkeley would have that going on. Police have yet to arrest anyone, theyre taking this matter seriously. One woman reported knowing the person who assaulted her. The second woman was not familiar with the person who assaulted her. Proposition 67 is the same law the Legislature Passed but now, voters have to okay it, too. And if they do ban the bags, critics say they made money on the delay. They saved 170 million in plastic bag sales by postponing the law over 18 months. They say they end up in waterways and theyre a threat to wildlife. You might use that bag for 10 minutes to get groceries from the store to our home. It can persist for decades still to come. San francisco was the first city to pass a ban nine years ago. Now, almost 150 california cities and counties have some type of ban, including sacramento. A ban went into affect in july, already having an impact. Before the bag ban were going through approximately 1700 bags per day. And that has been reduced to around 375 per day. Prop 67 would make the ban statewide and apply to most grocery stores, convenience stores, large pharmacies and liquor stores. The type of plastic bags used for fruits and vegetables would be allowed but not the thin, carry out type. Stores could sell the recycled paper bags and Reusable Bags but they have to charge 10 cents to encourage people to bring their own bags. The plastic bag industry says their product is being unfairly targeted. 90 of the products are made from recycled plastic bags and this is looking for the jobs and for consumers. The industry claims it will mean big money for grocery stores. Theyre sponsoring proposition 65, requiring those fees be used for the environment. Independent analysis have been done this will produce over 300 to 400 million per year in new profits for large grocers across california. That analysis was funded by the plastic bag industry. The grocery industry says the fee just allows them to cover costs, not a moneymaker if people bring their own bags.
