Including the latest the alarming sinkhole outside of orlando. We have live shots right now, from our sister station, wftv, over the huge sinkhole. Josh is here with the latest josh . Were going to take a look again at video, it shows that sinkhole swallowing a resort villa, not far from disney world. People woke up in the middle of the night to a great cracking sound and word spread that the building was starting to collapse. Everybody was told to get out and fast. Another section of that complex is also sinking. All of this happening just a few miles outside of orlando, in the town of clermont. They had no warning. First the lights went out and then chaos. We heard some shaking, glass breaking. We thought maybe it was kids running up and down the hall. Way. Reporter within seconds this massive crack had opened in the foundation. Caused by a 40 to 50feetwide sinkhole that opened beneath the building. As the building grew, people became more desperate to collapsed. Escaped. Reporter by 3 00 a. M. , an entire section of the resort villa, a complex of some dozen apartments just west of disney world had collapsed. The entire building tilting dangerously to one side. Right now, the threestory building looks like a twostory building and its just utter chaos. Reporter this morning, emergency crews evacuated another villa nearby, not sure of the stability of the ground. Thankfully, everyone did escape the villa safely before the building collapsed. Take a look at that as dawn breaks in clermont. So far, it does not appear to be growing wider which is helping crews as they try to stabilize the area. Meanwhile, a major announcement from attorney eric holder. He wants to change how lowlevel drug offenders are prosecuted. The goal is to ease prison overcrowding, save money and correct what holder calls unfairness in the system. Hes revealing his plan today in San Francisco. And Asiana Airlines is offering 10,000 to each survivor of the crash last last month in San Francisco. Asiana Airlines Says that accepting the payout will not prevent passengers from suing the company. Meanwhile, in virginia, glare from the sun blamed for what you see here. A massive highway pileup, 41 cars and trucks smashing into each other on i81. Cars ended up on top of each other. But no major injuries were reported. And a narrow escape caught on camera here. A car careening into a parking lot in california, nearly plowing down those three men you see there. The car going about 60 miles an hour. Police are investigating what caused the crash. Now reunited with her father after a massive manhunt that stretched from Southern California all the way to idaho. Ryan owens is in boise with the latest. Good morning, ryan. Reporter good morning to you, george. Hannah is with her father this morning. And were told that shes in good shape, at least physically. All thanks to those horgback riders who tip blew this case wide open. It wasnt just those heroes in uniform who saved hannah anderson. Hannahs coming home. Reporter it was also these sharpeyed civilians on horseback. Just had a gut feeling about him. Reporter these four came across the 16yearold and her 40yearold accused kidnapper James Dimaggio last week in the rugged backwoods of idaho. They said that hannah was wearing pajamas, appeared scared, kept looking away, and muttered, i think were all in trouble now. When they saw the teens picture on tv, they called police. And hundreds of federal agents descended on the woods. First spotting dimaggios car friday morning. Police just released these pictures of how he tried to cover it up with limbs and brush. Saturday, from the air, they discovered a campsite. To surprise dimaggio, members of the Fbi Hostage Rescue Team jumped from a helicopter and hiked 2 1 2 treacherous hours. The fbi will not detail what happened next, except to say that dimaggio was given several chances to surrender before they shot him saturday evening. California police said that he just didnt kidnapped hannah. The onetime close family friend murdered her mother and 8yearold brother. Their bodies found in his Burning House in san diego county. And this may be the strangest case of like father like son you have ever heard. In 1989, a newspaper reported that James Dimaggio sr. Was arrested for breaking into a home and holding a 16yearold at gunpoint. Police say the girl, the same age as hannah, escaped through a bathroom window. Theres more. Family friends say dimaggios dad committed suicide on august the 10th, all those years ago. The very same day his son was killed by the fbi. Theres definitely something that snapped. And the only thing that makes sense is this correlation with the date of his fathers suicide. Reporter hannahs grandparents, her family, her friends are eager for her homecoming in san diego. Theyll be celebrating that shes home but that will be tempered by the fact that shes also mourning her mother and her little brother. George . Thanks, ryan. They werent dressed correctly. They just didnt fit. It looked like a square peg going in a round hole. What were they doing when you came upon them . They just stepped off the side of the trail so they wouldnt spook the horses and so we could go by. But they were extremely quiet. Didnt want to engage in any kind of conversation. Kind of had a a bad look on their face. A bad look. Mike, you had this gut feeling that something wasnt right . I seen a lot of fear in her eyes. And i didnt like what i seen in his eyes. So, that put up a major red flag for me. So, christa, what did you all say to each other as you started to realize what was going on . We all concurred, it was a teenage daughter was made to go on a trip with her dad and was very unhappy about it. She was not happy to be there. Did it appear that she had been hurt at all . No. No. Other than her feet. She was really tired. They came a long way in some real Rough Country packing some large rucksacks on their backs. And the other red flag was that those rucksacks looked brandnew. They were pretty heavy. Her feet were sore. He didnt really have much to say . He didnt want to talk . No, neither one of them wanted to talk. They were quite reserved. And thats not like most people in the back country because, in the back country, when you meet somebody, you want to share the experience, share the terrain. I had asked him what ever made him pick this remote area. He said, last year she got to pick. And she picked los angeles and hollywood, and he said, this year was my turn. So that was a plausible answer for their being back there. I know that youll have the chance to meet hannah and her father today. Whats the most important thing you want to tell them . Were extremely happy for them that everything turned out right and hannah gets to go back home and be with her folks. I just want to give her a hug. Because i have granddaughters. Now, a huge factor in why this all happened. The waldo canyon fire of last year. That area is completely scarred by the burn. And that affects them so big. This is their third and worst of the year. Reporter when michaels family stopped at this Arkansas State park called the crater of diamonds, he wasnt expecting much. They tell you youll find these little diamonds that are so small. So, i kind of expected maybe to get a couple of those. Reporter instead, in a state best known for little rock, the 12yearold found an enormous rock. We were probably there around ten minutes. I was just looking around the ground. I found it on top. It was glassy. Very smooth. Didnt look like anything else around it. Reporter but he and his parents didnt realize he found a real diamond in the rough. We all looked at it and kind of dismissed it. Later on in the day, when we were ready to quit, we let the kids go to the rock identification people by themselves. When i brought the rock out of the bag, the guy who was there, he just got bugeyed. He said, hold on a second, i need to take this to the back room. So then, people came from everywhere. Its a big diamond, they said. Reporter not just big. One for the record books. More than 5 carats. Appraisers now say it could be worth as much as 15,000. If it can get cut and is valuable, i would probably have it cut and sell it. If not, well, then, its a great souvenir. Reporter for nearly two years now, the childs mother and her superstar exhusband, usher raymond, have fought publicly over their two children, usher and naviyd. Last summer, a judge awarded custody to the singer. At an emergency hearing on friday that she called for immediately after the pool accident. I need the ambulance. Reporter Tameka Raymond sobbed as she listened to the 911 call. When her son had his hand caught in a pool drain eight feet down and was inhailing water. I dont know if my son is going to have a brain defect. I dont know that his heart is operating correctly. I dont know that my son is going to be 100 the boy he was before this incident. The judge refused to change custody, siding once again with the grammyaward winning singer. Who was still wearing the security bracelet from the hospital. He said he was just an exit up the highway and raced home when he learned his son was hurt. He didnt want to go to the hospital. And, um i did my best to calm him down. Reporter usher also defended his aunt, who was home watching the children, and thanked the two contractors who rescued his son. 35yearold eugene administered cpr. In a phone call, he said that he did what any person would do. In court, at the end of the couples emotional hearing, there was this picture. The singer looking into the eyes of his exwife, pleading for the two to work it out. This hearing was just the beginning. After 20 years of marriage, a respected Bank Executive allegedly plotting to kill his estranged wife. Hell be in federal court. His wife now out of hiding and speaking out. Abcs gio benitez is here with the details. Reporter it was no secret that chris and nancy latham were in the middle of a contentious divorce. They say chris wanted his wife dead and was willing to pay to make it happen. Chris latham, once a banker making nearly 700,000, has gone from wearing sharp suits to shackles. The 50yearold seen glancing at his estranged wife, nancy, in court just days ago, will be back in court this morning, accused of trying to take out a hit on her. It was difficult to see him walk in in shackles. Going through this is almost surreal. Reporter latham stands accused of plotting with several others, including his livein girlfriend, to kill his wife. Prosecutors say that he gave accomplices a 5,000 downpayment. Gave them photos, maps, his wifes schedule. We have been married for 24 years. How do you reconcile the idea that this person hired someone to kill you . Reporter when police uncovered the alleged plot this spring, they alerted nancy and her daughters. We essentially were in hiding for close to two months. And even now, trying to get our lives back, its incredibly difficult. Reporter his attorney told abc news overnight he could not comment. His client has previously denied involvement in the plot, and earlier this year, filed for a protective order against nancy, saying she wanted to harm him. Nancy latham denied that charge. She says shes confident that prosecutors have a strong case. Its not by any means celebratory. Its not celebratory for my children. I um it has to be heartbreaking for them. And if its heartbreaking for my children, its heartbreaking for me. Reporter chris latham and his livein girlfriend pleaded not guilty to the charges. For years, we have all heard about alcohol, caffeine, exercise, what you should and shouldnt be doing. A new book, its called expecting better. It looked at research. Abcs paula faris has more. Reporter with all the rules and questions, how can any woman truly know what to expect when youre expecting. Who is this guy . Now, one chicago Economist Says some of the ageold pregnancy dos and donts may not be true. Emily oster, author of expecting better used her love of statistics to go through pregnancy studieses and came to her own conclusion. I found the conflicting advice overwhelming. Reporter rule number one. Thats not true. Maybe glass of wine a day is not dangerous. Reporter rule number two, pregnant women should cut out their morning cup of joe. Oster says, not true. I found that caffeine in moderation is also fine. Something like, two to four cups a day depending on how cautious you want to be. Reporter rule three, adding a little life to your yard could harm your baby. True, says oster. Some increase in birth defect if you do outdoor gardening while pregnant. Reporter shes not a medical doctor. Many obstetricians disagree with her collective findings. Especially on alcohol. There is no amount of alcohol in pregnancy that should be considered safe. Anything the mother ingests goes there the placenta, through the bloodstream, to the fetus. Reporter oster hopes pregnant women draw their on conclusions. I think its important for women to take their pregnancies into their own hands and make good decisions for themselves. Emily osters book, expecting better, why the conventional pregnancy wisdom is wrong and what you really need to know hits the shelves august 20th. And we need to bring dr. Jennifer ashton in now to talk about this. In general, its important for people to understand, theres a lot more to practicing medicine than crunching numbers. What are the risks of doing something . What are the risks of not doing something . The benefits of doing something . The benefits of not doing it . And then some options. I want to ask you about the alcohol thing. For so many women, its goodbye to alcohol for nine months. As soon as you find out that youre pregnant. That is a bold statement that you could have up to one glass a day . To say the least. And obstetricians and midwifes are going to be doing damage control. I think, to some extent. Fun fact, we used to use alcohol to stop preterm contractions. So, this is an example of quantity, how much youre talking about and there may be contradictory data about the risks. But there is no data about the benefits for a baby. Since its an optional thing, a doctor would say, if you want to have one or two drinks at the end of your pregnancy, its okay. But one drink a day . What about exercise . If you want to exercise, pregnant or nonpregnant. All the way . Absolutely. The woman makes the decision. Happy to have a role right there. There you go, josh.
