Tonight the director of the fbi is responding here in the bay area. Geechlk im dan ashley. The fbi director james comey is in San Francisco tonight. He addressed the American Bar Association at the moss coney center. Leslie brinkley is in the newsroom with the story. Reporter police brutally shooting a tone age suspect on the mine. That image on the mind of the director of the fbi as he spoke out tonight in San Francisco. [ gun shots ] a dash cam and body cam captured a Dramatic Police encounter in South Chicago showing two officers firing at an 18yearold car theft suspect in stolen vehicle and then a third officer firing at him as he ran. Responding officers can be heard saying they shot at us too, right as he curse at the 18yearold suspect as he lay on the ground dying. That graphic encounter andst other Police Shootings were addressed tonight by fbi director james comey. He gave a keynote address in San Franciscos moss coney center. Drives them farther apart. This is a big big problem for a whole lot of reasons. The only answer to it is weve got to get up close to each other and show each other the true heart of Law Enforcement and the communities we serve and protect. The Police OfficersAssociation Says it has no comment. Police arrested a hayward woman tonight after finding a man shot to death at a home today. Officers were responding to Domestic Violence call on thorup lane when they found the man dead. Police havent said how the victim and suspect are connected. New at 11 00, some renters in san jose say they are living with bed bugs, mode, and faulty electricity. A lawsuits lawsuit against their landlord is moving slowly through the justice system. Now tenants are trying to speed up changes. Abc7 News Reporter casey marzullo has more. Reporter Veronica Martinez lives at 1991 story road in san jose. She is one of nine plaintiffs suing their landlord for what they call substandard conditions including cockroaches and bed bugs. Veronica says the kids have bites all over their bodies and it worries her because the bugs can carry disease. In addition to the bugs and mold, the lawsuit also allege has the water in the apartments is sometimes discolored and that it smells. And in veronicas case that it has been turned off without notice. The lawsuit stems from a fire that broke out in one of the units in june of 2015. Two children were badly burned. The attorney for the family says after the fire, city authorities began investigating. Our Code Enforcement team has been working this isue for a long time. Reporter union vision 14 talked to the direct auto of communications for san jose. He says inspectors found faulty wiring sparked the fire. He says they have been replacing wiring and equipment to make the property safer. But an organizer with the Affordable Housing network told union vision 14 problems persist. Some of them were corrected but others were not corrected and some of them have reappeared. Reporter sappedy perry is helping the tenants take their current complaints to cozy enforcement to make sure they are heard. Veronica says they want the apartments to be perfect so they can live better, especially since the rent keeps going up. The landlord has not yet responded to our request for a comment. Tonight, the mayor of stockton isnt denying playing strip poker with a group of teenagers, but insists he didnt do anything criminal. Mayor Anthony Silva called a News Conference one day after federal agents arrested him for crimes against chirp at his youth camp in amador county. He insist he is innocent. Everyone there was 18 years old. Number two, i never ever ever ever endangered a child, ever. Number three, i never provided alcohol to anyone. And i certainly did not secretly record anyone. A teenage girl told investigators everyone was naked at some point during the poker game. Beer and vodka was present and a lot of the counsellors were drinking. Source tell abc7 news he set off the bomb in a planner box in front of a neighbors house on the 100 block of madrid street. This neighbor says she heard the explosion after she came home from work around 20k in the morning. Elias cabrera lives across the street. A lot of neighbors around here. Reporter a Police Source tells us just after the explosion one resident saw the suspect standing outside his home. A search of his house, police say, turned up explosive materials. Another neighbor, police say, reported that his home had been vandalized that same night and at least half dozen cars parked on the street near novellas home had their tires slashed. He put his car on there, and then somebody flats his tire. Reporter flat his tire . Yeah. Reporter most neighbors dont want to go on camera for fear of retaliations.
