A double homicide near a play ground has a San Francisco community kbhunder standably on edge this afternoon. The shooting happened just after 9 30 at the Crocker Amazon play ground in the citys excelsior neighborhood. Someone appears to have shot both victims while they were sitting inside a vehicle. Witnesses we talk with say this it is a nice neighborhood and they are surprised. Authorities have not announced any suspects or even a potential motive for this shooting. Two thieves may face child endanger. Charges after taking this 4yearold boy on a burglary this morning. Police say the thieves broke into this house under construction in the noe Valley District. When officers arrived one person ran to a neighbors roof to escape but he was tracked down by a police dog. People do prey on these homes that are under renovation because it could be plumbing, faucets, light fixtures, copper plumbing, but they often will burglarize these homes. After Police Nabbed both suspects they found a small child in a nearby car waiting for them. The burglars may nice child endangerment charges. A palo alto teenager was hit and killed by an Early Morning train. Cal train says the teenager intentionally walked onto the tracks. Reporter Palo Alto High School students and their parents given this letter today encouraging families to talk to their kids about a tough but an important topic regarding depression and suicidal thoughts. The student killed this morning was a 15yearold sophomore from Palo Alto High School. Officials say the poi was hit by a northbound train causing a major backup for at least an hour. We are extremely concerned. This is an unusually frequent occur reps for this kind of thing. Reporter cal train says there have been eight fatalities this year, seven which are believed to be sue sides. It is an issue that resonates in this community. Back in 2009 there was a cluster of teen suicides at nearby gunn high school. I think its the exspec takes we place on ourselves to be perfect. Reporter students we talk to say there is a lot of pressure to succeed. I think that peoples selfworth is put so hard on their academic success, defined very narrowly that just kids put everything on that and they think if they are not perfect they cant do anything and that just crushes you. In january we stopped three individuals who were intent on taking their lives on the tracks. They are looking for Giovany Santiagoenriquez and his 1yearold son jaden santiago. Police say santiago enreek kez had a violent confrontation with his exwife in san pedro and stabbed her new boyfriend. He then took off. The child is nowhere to be found. The father is considered suicidal so police say the child is obviously in danger. Santiago enriquez could be headed to mexico or the state of washington where he has contacts. He was last seen in a 2006 Gray Nissan Altima with license plate 5 ucf 010. Be on the lookout for that. Several people were injured in a crash after a driver tried to escape from u. S. Marshals. The crash happened at 23rd avenue at 11 0030 a. M. Police say the marshals tried to stop the man as he got into a car minutes before the female driver took off. This is the time of year the district lets probationary teachers know whether they will be back for next year. In this case, the students are quite upset that one of their favorites wont be back. Reporter these are students who walked out of class, not to take a break but to send a loud message to their School Administration that the firing of a beloved teacher is not okay with them. The main issue that we want to keep the good teachers here and make sure that they stay in their johns and keep the bad teachers out. We went to the board, we tried different many different alternatives. They have not listened to us. We are out here telling them we have a voice and going to make a change. In the law academy, the students are taught to address issues that present themselves, to not let pad situations continue. Reporter a spokesman for the west contra costa School District told abc7 news while we value and respect the opinions of our students and parents, the ultimate responsibility for evaluating teachers lies with the principal and the district. The School District announced today a student from Tennyson High School tested positive for the disease. The superintendent says the student was not on campus when diagnosed and will not return to school until the Health Department determine it is 100 safe. In Santa Clara County conservation achieved an average of 13 by its 1. 8 million customers. The cost of obtaining water is going up. Our rate increase next year is looking at getting more supplies from outside of our county developing recycled Water Supplies in our county and anything that we can do to ensure that we have secure Water Supplies for next fiscal year. Reporter the valley Water District board will start discussing rate increases up to 31. 5 tuesday night that translates into an 8. 09 per month increase in the north county and 1. 52 in the south county. Consumers say they understand how the drought is behind this. Its steep. I think thats pretty steep amount to be raising the rate and i think a lot of people are doing what they can to save water, but i understand, too, if we have to buy water outside of our own district they have got to get the money somewheres.
