Ray mcdonald has been arrested again accused of Domestic Violence and this time hes facing additional charges of child endangerment. Abc 7 news there was when he tried to hide after he left the jail and went inside to call a taxi in the lobby of the San Jose Police headquarters. We see him trying to dash out past reporters and jump into a waiting taxi cab. We wondered why he was arrested for child endangerment and police say the woman hes accused of assaulting today was holding an infant possibly his own. It was 3 48 this morning at this gated apartment complex in santa clara where ray mcdonald lives and a call to 911 said someone was being attacked by mcdonald. He was violent and had broken a door down. Mcdonald was gone when Santa Clara Police arrived. About three hours later they located him at the home of his teammate justin smith. I cant go specifically into the degree of the assault other than it was Domestic Violence related assault. What i can say while the victim was assaulted she was holding a young child an infant. Police are not saying if the victim is mcdonalds girlfriend and the mother of the child. He signed with the Chicago Bears on a oneyear 1 million deal however the bears released him because of todays arrest saying, quote, we believe in second chances, but he was not able to meet the standard. Mcdonald was held all morning at Santa Clara Police. If they didnt get the statement at scene of the arrest, they will. They will bring the person here to the Police Department for followup investigation. He was transported early this afternoon in his black van to the Santa Clara County jail. Bail has been set at 15,000. Sat the Santa Clara County jail, david louie abc 7 news. A man who died while scuba diving off the northern sonoma coast was identified as a chp officer. Jeffrey allen ray was diving in girstal cove yesterday when one of his friends found him unresponsive. Emergency responders could not revive him. He worked with the chp for 27 years and he was also a marine corps veteran. It about longed to a woman who vanished more than 30 years ago. Elizabeth martinson disappeared in 1982. She was staying with a host family and working with a nanny. Her remains were createe cremated and will be sent back to her family. Her remains were found in the canyon area and only seven bones were found at the site. She was last seen in a store landing. Some scary moments for a child while walking near the golden gate bridge. The child was walking on the pier and slipped and fell over the edge ending up near shallow water. It happened on marine drive near the torpedo whatever. Firefighters took the person to the hospital and does not have serious injuries. Police are searching tonight for the man accused of murdering one person and injuring another. It turned out the man was not in the house in dante avenue near 99th avenue and the wounded victim is expected to survive and they did find a large marijuana grow. A bus driver is getting a welldeserved pat on the back for upon hadding police visit teenagers and a short time later the ac transit driver spotted him in alameda and reunited with his family. This is abc 7 news. Rescue crews found a 68yearold woman who spent two weeks in a Southern California desert. She survived the ordeal but sadly her husband did not. Theyd gotten lost after leaving a casino. Abc 7 News ReporterEileen Freres has the story. The 68yearold recovering from severe dehydration. Her 79yearold husband Cecil Knutson known as paul did not survive. They were in Warner Springs two weeks after they were last seen leaving valley view casino 25 miles away. Im glad to hear something. Its better than not knowing anything, but of course its tragic for paul and were concerned for diana. Reporter the two were on their way to their sons home in la quinta for mothers day dinner. They were looking for a short cut to get to their destination and the vehicle became trapped on this remote road. Diana told them they drank rain water and ate food they had in their car. Despite numerous searchers they were found by offroaders sunday afternoon and cecil had already died. A private investigator is speaking for the family. This is a very difficult time for them and theyre trying to gather themselves together and be available for diana and theyre grieving the loss of cecil. Reporter the couple married 25 years at their Orange County home flowers sit on the front steps dropped off over a week ago. The whole park really feels bad that this happened and its something that i never thought i would experience anything like this. This is just tragic. We have a frightening scene to show you on a beach in Fort Lauderdale florida. Watch carefully now. A water spout sends rainfall and sends an inflatable bounce house into the air and watch it keep rising into the sky. Three kids were taken to the hospital and it is not clear if they were inside the bounce house or hit by it and this flew across the beach and into a nearby road. Texas Governor Greg Abbott the damage is absolutely devastating. A months worth of rain fell in a matter of hours washing away homes and cars and one person is dead and 12 missing. A total of 37 counties in the state have been declared disaster areas. Two people have been killed in oklahoma, as well, where more than 17 inches of rain have fallen this month. A tornado is, blamed for the deaths of 13 people in northern mexico. That twister raced through the city early today destroying 800 homes and overturning big rigs and a bus and dozens of cars. The devastation was incredible and hundreds were injured and check out the cars just thrown on to their sides of tiny homes and they had their roofs ripped off by the twister and it is right across the border from del rio, texas. A small earthquake struck near the site of last weeks 4. 1 quake and no reports of any damage from todays 2. 5 magnitude quake. The only damage from fridays quake was the oakville crossroad bridge. Engineers closed that bridge after determining shaking may have caused additional deep cracks in the bridges foundation. Water vapor satellite image shows the trough swinging from the northwest and reinforcing a cool, onshore flow for the bay area and this ridge of High Pressure will build in behind the trough and thats what will bring us our warming trend this week and well use san jose as an indicator of how the warming will play out. A steady climb of temperatures in the 70s to 81 by saturday at san jossy ande and well see the temperature range over much of the bay area. Cloudy, low temperatures in the low to mid50s and tomorrow look for sunny skies in the south bay with highs in the low to mid 7 s and up to 70 in the peninsula and 60 degrees downtown and San Francisco tomorrow and upper 60s to 70s in the north bay. As is tradition, riflemen fired three rounds over the graves of Fallen Service members. The event was at Lone Tree Cemetery that started 112 years ago. Congressman eric seoulwell took part and also take care of surviving veterans in need. The memorial in front of lafayette station has become an unofficial pilgrimage day and the memorial started at the beginning of the iraq war when residents put up a cross for each soldier and now families go to remember their loved ones and many have personalized the crosses with names and pictures.
