The advocates held a rally demanding that local leaders do something about the situation before another person dies from the cold on the streets. They woke up braving another night. Most didnt want to talk about it on camera. You do what you can to stay warm . Yeah. This is california. Reporter many are hearing the news that a homeless man died on tuesday night. Sources tell me he froze to death. Deep, deep sadness. Reporter homeless advocates used the death to push for a fast solution in the south bay. They spoke with a Homeless Task force. Not a crisis for the county and the city because theyre not acting as fast as they could. Hits you different when youre an elected official than just a citizen. You feel some responsibility that there might be been something you can do. Reporter one idea gaining traction with the task force is establishing a legal encampment. Legal encampments where they will have maybe a shower or a portapotty. Water. They can feel safe and not die on the streets. Down to 42 in the south bay. Whats increasing the cloud cover is this massive storm system sitting out in the pacific. The heaviest rain as we told you earlier is heading up to canada, washington and oregon. Well get the bottom edge of the storm but it still looks potent enough to bring us a quarter inch of rainfall across the bay area. Lets take a look at time line of what we can expect. You can see by the afternoon not much in the way of sun sheer from the north bay down to the south bay. Then well start to see the rain arrive early in the morning on sunday. Look, this early out i still think theres about three to four hours of give and take on this time line. Its a general idea of when we expect this to move in. Maybe a spotty shower to San Francisco. Really by 7 00 and 8 00 in the morning on sunday thats when things should pick up here across the bay area. Also san mateo counties should have the heaviest rain and down toward Santa Clara County by 9 00 in the morning. You can see how it broke up here. Thats what we expect really to happen with this storm system. The more south it goes, be more it falls apart. We should manage a little bit of sunshine in here. Lets go ahead and round up this storm system. If you have weekend plans, its coming early on sunday morning. Totals a tenth of an inch to half inch.
