It collapsed when the magnitude 6. 4 quake hit in the middle of the night there. Here are the latest numbers. We were sleeping and woken up by it and it was rocking. Taiwan often gets quakes. It was devastated by a 7. 6 quake that killed nearly 2300 people. Since that quake, most of the New Buildings there are incredibly strong structurally. A suspect was shot after witnesses say he robbed a bank. It happened at 10 00 a. M. At the credit union on el camino real. He robbed a bank at begun point abdomen took off. Officers shot him when he didnt follow instructions. Hes currently undergoing surgery for injuries. Two guards have been put on leave. The bay area newsgroup reports that the guards are accused of beating an inmate so badly it left him permanently disfigured. In november, inmate Rueben Garcia told abc 7 news that he was repeatedly punched and slammed face first into a wall and a metal bed frame. The two guards have been removed from their jobs during a criminal investigation. The beating happened july 23rd last year. About a month before another inmate was killed. Yesterday in an exclusive interview with abc 7 news, you heard from a man stabbed by mario woods. It happened december 2nd in the bayview. The day woods was shot and killed by police. Responses to that interview tonight. Vic lee has the story. Like, im trying to figure out how to get my life together. My life has been in shambles. Since the stabbing, jacob is afraid people may want to harm him. It was the first in a sequence of events that ended with mario woods death. The officerinvolved shooting was captured on video which went viral. Jacobs says he was attacked sitting in his car for no reason at all. I get stabbed by somebody i dont even know and i dont have no beef with or anything like that. He was treated for stab wounds in his arm. Jacob tells me hes the forgotten victim. Protesters and city officials have ignored. Theyre trying to get justice and everything. But at the same time, you have to realize that there are victims of black on black crimes that i dont feel they announce. Hes a victim too. Feel for him like i felt for mario and for the officers. Joe marshall is the Police Commissioner and founder of the omega boys club, a group that helps troubled youngsters. Jacob, marshall says, has been victimized by the politics involved in the shooting of mario woods. In this case, we had a young man who who was stabbed and almost killed. We had a young man who was actually killed. Theyre both bad. Also disturbs jacobs, the day of remembrance that the city supervisors unanimously passed for mario woods. Supervisor john avalos feels sad for victims like jacob. But he defends the boards action. This is not the case of ignoring a victim. This is the case of we see the most lurid use of police force being tormenting a community and killing a person and tormenting a community. That needs to be answered to. What about answers for jacob says. Since the attack he lost his job because his arm hasnt healed completely. He sleeps in his car or his friends place. A former basketball coach at marin Christian High School in walnut creek has been arrested on charges of having sex with a minor. The woman is katherine ham blin. The victim is a 17yearold boy. Surveillance photos show the suspect on january 9th. Police say he shot the man several times on a train that stopped at the west open barts station. B. A. R. T.
