Theres a closer look at the fire burning close to the freeway. Over 100 acres burned, no structures threatened, including the refinery. More than 100 firefighters worked on that fire. Planes and helicopters dropped retardant on it, making quick work of the flames there. A lot of people told us theyve never seen a fire burning so close to where they live. We saw the black, then the traffic, then we go, were out of here. We started coming this way. Started looking, watching. Sort of interesting. We actually run a machine shop that provides parts for the refineries. What we saw it was up here we thought we better come see. If its something that hits the refinery, we could get calls. There was never any real threat to the refinery. The fire was under control by 6 00 tonight. Lets get right to meteorologist drew tuma with the latest on the hot wedder and fire danger. Were basically being told as soon as that crane back there comes down, we can go back in. Reporter Oakland Fire Department says its got a plan to remove the unstable crane. Its an excavator theyll be using with two cables. One attached to rotate the jig in the area that we want to bring down the crane. Homes are threatened. Santa barbara county firefighters posted this video today. Theyre using helicopters and planes to attack the flames and protect those homes. The fire is just 10 contained. Up in butte county, cal fire tweeted this video of a huge flame dropping retardant over the wall fire. The fire has grown to 2,700 acres and destroyed ten homes. Containment is now at 20 , up from 5 earlier today. But a halves do people have been hurt. North of vacaville in yolo county, the winters fire is 75 contained. The 2,200acre fire started thursday afternoon. All evacuations have been lifted. A pittsburg woman faces charges in the murder of her parents. Police arrested 50yearold monique lesean at her home. They went to the house after getting a call from lesean, who reported the crime. Police say the couple was stabbed to death and appeared to have been dead a few days. Officers say lesean tried to make it look as if the stabbings happened during a fight between her parents. A civil rights lawsuit filed by a family shot and killed by officers.
