As they enter the atmosphere that. Burn up. This years Perseid Meteor Shower is considered an outburst or exceptional shower with twice as many shooting stars. We have jupiter to thank for the extra special is celestial show. Every 12 years, jupiter comes around and goes underneath the path of the comet, the path of the stream of particles. Gives it a little gravitational tug. And that causes two years later the outburst that we see. In the bay area, if you look up tonight, you could see as many as 100 an hour, 200 if you live somewhere away from city lights. The best way to see it is to first of all get away from the fog. If approved by the bart board this fall, the bathrooms would not open until at least late next year. Jesse johnson showed this picture showing two pool employees putting life preservers on the deer at king park this morning. They were able to keep the animal from swimming up to the children. Several 3 to 6yearolds were in the pool at the time. Everyone safely cleared out. Our staff, who are trained in dealing with lots of emergencies, but never a deer in a pool. The staff kind of gently led the deer to the pool steps. And the little deer sprung out of the pool and ran into the bushes.
