He was painting a message of peace when someone pulled out a gun an shot him. We are finding out about some possible motives for the killing. Christin ayers was at the memorial. Reporter tonight, friends of Antonio Ramos are Holding Vigil where he was murdered this morning. This is the third homicide in oakland today and the suspect is till on the loose. I cant understand why someone would do this. He was such a good person to everyone. We had so much fun together. Im really going to miss him. Reporter candles illuminate the corners of a dark overpass hours after a volunteer muralist was gunned down. Friends say ramos drove to the mural this morning to paint with a smile on his face and was carrying a speaker to listen to music. Im in shock. We are all in shock. It is hard to actually believe that he is not here with us. Reporter david burke, a fellow artist was just feet away when the shooting happened and wondered if it was a robbery gone bad. Others say there was a dispute over a can of paint. Whatever happened, burke says he heard the gunfire and ran to antonios side. We were just trying to keep him conscious and support him until paramedics arrived. Reporter but antonio later arrived at the hospital. He is oaklands 77th homicide victim this year. There, murders have climbed 20 over last year. A fact neither the mayor nor the police chief touched on at their brief remarks at a press conference today. It is with a very sad heart we learned of this death. You had somebody trying to make a positive difference in the community. Not doing anything wrong and they lost their life in process. And it is gutwrenching the level of violence that happened here on a daily basis is unacceptable. Reporter christin ayers, kpix5. Some serious questions tonight after an inmate was found dead in his cell at the Santa Clara County jail. Len ramirez learned that during his last week in custody, guards hit him with a rubber projectile. Reporter correctional deputies found the 33yearold male inmate unresponsive in his cell in the main jail and pronounced him dead at 11 00 a. M. Monday morning. We are not jumping to conclusions on the cause of death. That still need to be determined but certainly, i take responsibility for what happens in the organization. Reporter the inmate described as a transient with a history of arrest and jail terms is not being identified because his family cannot be found. It was the second suspicion death in the jail since august when Michael Tyree was allegedly beaten to death by three correctional deputies. There was no compliance. They actually went into the cell. Reporter the unidentified inmate had been jailed twice this month and on the last occasion, had to be extracted from his cell by physical force including pepper spray and rubber projectiles but that happened a week before his death. It was all captured on video tape. We are able to see everything that happened and capture it on the time line. Reporter that video will be a key piece of evidence as a second major Death Investigation moves forward at the county jail. So far this year, there have been six incustody deaths including inmates who have died of natural causes, in san jose, len ramirez kpix5. Meanwhile, the three cards accused of the killing last month are out on bail now. They are due in court two weeks. There is new video of a brawl surfacing at another 49ers game. Take a look. Now. This was the scene sunday in arizona. We are told this fight broke out during halftime. You could see a niners fan appearing to kick someone who was on the ground. The Security Guard came in to break it up. Witnesses say no one was injured. And to night, two other 4 ers fans brutally beaten are suing the team. Video of the beat down by two intoxicated brothers went viral. They blamed the 49ers for taking action for drunk violence during games. A High School Football coach in oakland has been bench after what happened on a school bus. Joe vasquez shows us. Reporter thats the coach with the baseball cap telling his student to sit down and be quiet. The student stands up and screams in the coachs face. And then, it is on. [ screaming ] they wrestle over several rows of seats before students urge the coach to calm down. Whoa reporter coach Decarlos Anderson is an assistant Junior Varsity coach and pe teacher at the high school. He is suspended with pay while the district investigates. There is really no excuse for adults to put hands on a student. Reporter coach robinson who goes short for los also has his supporters. He is a father figure to a lot of students. Reporter brandy robinson is a College Basketball player. She says los is her mentor and a mentor about others urging them to keep serious about school. She says the coach and the Football Player have put the whole thing behind them. I dont know what was going on. They made up. Yeah. They made up. Reporter i asked her to reach out to coach robinson on our behalf so we could talk to him directly. He declined to comment, but may put out a statement. Im joe vasquez, kpix5. Tonight, San Francisco police are investigating a hit and run that ended like this. If you look closely, you can see a bicyclist on the hood of that car. Police say there are two sides to this story. And they are curious to hear what the driver has to say. The cyclist told mark kelly he feared for his life. I was frightened. I was in shock. Reporter mackwell wallace says he was trying to bike to work when he ended up face first on the roof of a strangers cadillac. Very scared. I was holding onto the windshield. I was shaking. Reporter according to the cyclist, he was on this bike path on fullton street fullton street headed to downtown San Francisco. This is when he headed to the driver. It was in the middle of the intersection where he sideswiped the cyclist. I was pretty shocked that he didnt stop. Reporter maxwell says after the sideswipe, he got in front of the cadillac trying to snap a photo of the license plate. But the driver, he says, hit the gas. Didnt imagine that you go after someone hits you to talk to them. That they would try to run you over. Reporter maxwell says to avoid getting run over, he jumped ton roof and stayed there for about 100 feet before the driver took off. I jumped and because i jumped quickly, im alive. But if i hadment, i dont know where i would be. Okay. Reporter now, maxwell says this is his first runin with the vehicle, but, ken, cyclists an drivers tension between them has been building in San Francisco for some months now. Yeah mark. This one, it looks strange. There is a perfect photo of the guy on the hood of the car and in the original, you could see the license. Who took that picture . Reporter well, we talked to the cyclist tonight, he said that photo was taken by a witness and the witness handed the photo over to the cyclist. And now the cyclist says he wants to get that photo to the police to figure out who this driver is. All right, mark kelly, thank you mark. Well tonight, pg e is facing a lawsuit over the deadly butte wild fire. Victims took part in a town hall in san andreas. Lawyers are offering to support those who are suing. They say pg e didnt maintain the power lines that sparked the wild fire. For some t whole thing is overwhelming. We lost our computers and everything. When you go into the center where they have everybody set up, the very first thing they say is get on the computer and you are like, oh yeah. The one in my house, it burned down. Cal fire has not determined what caused the wild fire. Two people died. Nearly 71,000 acres burned in a statement, pg e said our thoughts and prayers are with the individuals who lost their homes in this fire. We will respond to this lawsuit in the normal legal process. A lot of people were wearing pink tonight for something called the pinkout, the national day of action. There were dozens of events across the country like this one in San Francisco. It was planned parenthoods way of fighting back against republicans attempts to cut off federal funding. It is amazing that in 2015, these extremists have been making headway. Have been able to garner so much political attention. And, have been involved in such intense attacks on a womans constitutional right to choose. And they were asked to wear pink for solidarity.
