It is something i saw this morning and i was taking my dog out for a walk around Golden Gate Park. Its red tape that has danger on it. Thats highly unusual at least in this part of the park because i usually see yellow caution tape. The rec and Parks Department says the red tape and the yellow tape mean the same thing, just be careful when youre around these trees that are roped off and coned off. This is part of the cleanup that they have already done. Right now they are prioritizing the trees that need more attention than others. Because they were down and already cut up the tree is okay for now. And its strong so they are not concerned. They are trying to focus on the trees that may still be on sidewalks. They have been out there working daily because of the heavy winds and rains that we got over the past week. They tell me that we only lost 76 trees and that may seem like a big number for the entire city of San Francisco. But keep in mind, here are 131,000 trees that the rec and Parks Department maintains and takes care of. So its pretty good. Even when we dont have a storm, this is something this upkeep is something that they do every, single day. They like to thin out the branches that they can so wind can go through them and instead of knocking over a tree. I learned a lot about trees and their maintenance today but right now, you will see trees still coned off with this tape around them. It is okay to be around them. I am safe according to the rec and Parks Department to be this close to the tree.
