He survived and is recovering from a gunshot wound in the shoulder. The Pittsburg Police say this is the third shooting on highway 4 since november. We have met with california highway patrol. But the police are saying that this shooting was targeted. Thank you. Three Oakland Police officers are on paid administrative leave. They are accused of Sexual Misconduct involving a teenaged girl. No details are being released but opd says there is an investigation. The Department Released a statement that reads in part, the oakland Police Department will not tolerate misconduct of any kind from its employees. The oakland Police Department holds all employees accountable for their actions on and off duty. So far, the names of the accused officers are not being made public. A push is in the works to help bicyclists avoid car traffic on the Golden Gate Bridge. The National Park service has a plan to reopen the vista point trail which would take cyclists and pedestrians under the north end of the bridge and into fort baker. For now though cyclists have to mix with vehicle traffic that travels at near freeway speeds. Under the 2. 3 million plan, a trail segment would be converted into a multiuse trail. Good news to report. They open up one lane of the connector road on northbound 280 connecting over to north 880 and southbound 17. So traffic is starting to squeeze by through there. But a big rig stuck on its side was carrying bales of hay so its taking some time to clear but traffic is starting to move. Slow on 280 itself northbound. Northbound 85 slow and 101 out of morgan hill and 101 through san jose towards milpitas. Taking a look at conditions which could potentially happen tonight you have the sharks in town taking on the predators. Game 7, a lot of, expected. And they even wrote a book about it. Reese academy is this weeks cool school. [ tone ] reporter this is how reese academy in oakland starts every day. Breathing in. Breathing out. Reporter they close their eyes, take deep breaths, and practice mindfulness. Mindfulness is focus and calmness. The concept was introduced here in 2012 as a tool to handle tests, bullies or anything that may cause stress. At first, i thought, okay, well, well do mindfulness in the morning and then well start our day and then that will be it. And then i learned that its not about doing something one time that mindfulness is throughout the day. Reporter from fifth grade to kindergarten students have mastered mindfulness. I have the power. I have the power to make life choices. To make life choices reporter they use it when needed and its not just at school. Something i do when im stressed with my brother because he takes my stuff. Yeah. Reporter so what do you do when that happens . I get mad but im like, calm down. Do mindfulness. Breathing in. Breathing out. Reporter about two years ago with the help of social worker laurie grossman, the fifth grade class wrote a book about mindfulness. They met several times a week sharing stories and drawing pictures. Its good that we made a book so that to give it to other schools to learn it. Reporter now its used across the country and even as far as kenya. When i actually got the news that it was around the whole world, i was like without words. The fifth graders wrote this book a couple of years ago. And those 7th graders they dont go to the school anymore because it only goes up to fifth grade but they come back and teach the kids mindfulness and check the kids to make sure everyone is doing well. I think the kids help. Sometimes all you need to do is take a step back. Earlier this year we saw Jordan Spieth a professional golfer with a meltdown at the masters and he said afterwards all he wished he had done is just take a deep breath in and out.
