It was back in 1995, i was a meteorologist in chicago. We had a four day heat wave in the month of july. The hottest day topped off another 110 degrees. By the time that four day heat wave was over. 750 people had died. Okay. I know. Repeat that again right . 750 people had died. They were the senior citizens, the elderly, they were the poor. And then after that, cooling centers were developed all across america. Today we have a cooling center right here in dublin at the Public Library. Lee is here. Tell me have you seen an increase in people coming today . Yeah absolutely. We ive noticed an increase it started late yesterday. The seating in the library was completely filled up. And a lot of the play its a beautiful play with wonderful music. And at the heart of it is the theme of racial tolerance. Because these two couples who you know at that time wouldnt be seen together or wouldnt be able to be together tried to fight to have a have you know, love for each other. I play the character of you play the character of bloody mary, any challenges to performing outdoors . Sure you know its a really large house, 4,000 feet and theres elements. Its hot somedays. And other days its cold and you know foggy. But and you know theres a sound element too but they did do a wonderful job making it with sound wonderful and the orchestra is amazing. And you know, its a Sacred Mountain and to be able to create art in that space is magical. And a privilege.
