Police say that white car you will see in the video was speeding when it drove through the intersection right now at perdue at farnsworth. It clipped a car and continued straight in the house. The car entered what looks like a garage from the outside but was converted into a bedroom. The car from what we could tell entered into the portion of the house that we see as a garage from the outside. But a lot of the homes in the area have their garages converted into a living space. It appears that was converted into a living space. Reporter when crews arrived on scene, the victim had to be extracted from underneath the car. She was immediately taken to a local hospital and her condition is unknown at this time. One witness told us that she was at the intersection when the car flew by her. She heard brakes screeching and all she heard was a man screams, oak my god, my oh, my god. My daughter is in the room. San jose police are looking into what led to a standoff that ended in the death of a woman and a man suspected of holding her hostage. It began yesterday afternoon in the city cambrian area on camden avenue. A photo shows a man in a white cap with what appears to be a gun in his hand. Reporter at 2 18, a 911 call was made about a woman who grabbed a woman and dragged her into the home and fired two shots. Three hours later, the hostage standoff came to a head as san jose officers tried to evacuate the neighborhood. They were going to start to attempt to make contact with them. I dont know if they actually made contact with them. Reporter in a flurry of activity, the suspect walked out the front door, guns drawn, moments later, the suspect was dead outside. A San Jose Police officer was also wounded by either a gunshot or flying debris. Sources say a preliminary investigation points to the san jose officer shooting and killing the suspect. Well, i cant say that i can say that multiple shots were fired. But thats about all i can say. Reporter a woman was found dead inside the home and she and the suspect were not strangers. Multiple sources say a love triangle seems to be at the center of this tragedy out here on camden avenue. Police being very tightlipped at this point, not saying much about their investigation. City of palo alto is fighting with pg e over the fate of hundreds of trees. The utility says the trees need to be cut down. But the city is telling homeowners not to cooperate with the utility. Reporter last month, he said he learned pg e wanted to remove about 700 trees on private and public property in palo alto that could get in the way of First Responders in case of an emergency. We questioned whether they really needed to remove the number of trees. Reporter mike says he wanted his community to weigh in and got pg e to agree to take a closer look at every tree and get back to them. Instead they did not do that. Were only replacing trees that pose a safety concern. Reporter Cindy Campbell is among the many who got a letter, asking homeowners to work with them on removing their trees. Pg e said the roots are growing along the pipes. Reporter so in response, city leaders sent out a letter to homeowners asking them not to agree to any contracts with pg e just yet. Im not sure whether it is really needed to remove those trees. Reporter tree advocate Katherine Martin of palo alto questioned pg e. She says theres just no evidence a tree has ever ruptured a pipeline in california. If they were to remove that large number of trees it would have an impact hon the community. We understand a need for pipeline safety. Reporter city leaders say safety is a priority. At this point, they have yet to show us any documentation that justifies any particular danger of trees. Jackie ward is live from the scene of the crash to tell us whats known so far. Reporter well, take a look at the damage that you can still see from the car crashing into the house causing two people to go to the hospital, including the driver. But one of the victims is a 25 yearold woman who was sleeping in the room that the car violently entered.
