Wc reporter the Security Camera video shows the wc130 cargo plane bank left and nose dive behind a tree line. Witnesses heard two booms first the crash, then, even louder, an explosion. Reporter the crash, its cause unknown, happened at 11 30 in the morning, about a quarter mile away from a busy intersection. Gene bilbo is with the Chatham County sheriffs department. The plane had just finished routine maintenance in savannah. It turns out, this is one of the oldest c130s still flying. It was on its way to tucson to be retired. And this morning, after takeoff, it was in the air for about two miles when it dropped from the sky. No other details have been released. Today, the centers for Disease Control reported 23 more cases since last week. That brings the total to 121 people in 25 states that have been infected with e. Coli. This is a particularly nasty strain, putting 52 people in the hospital, more than what we usually see with an e. Coli break. Tonight, we are in woodward, but weve been driving since we left salina, kansas this afternoon. And as we got close to the oklahomakansas border, the weather was so bad at one point, we had to pull over. We couldnt see in front of our vehicle, and you can hear the hail that was hitting our vehicle at the time. Overnight at least several tornadoes were confirmed in texas, nebraska, and iowa. In wichita, kansas, an ef3 tornado touched down. Winds were up to 140 miles per hour. Doat tornado was on the ground for nearly 15 miles, in an area where not many people live. No injuries were reported. Over the next 24 hours, the Severe Weather forecast stretches from south texas all the way to new england. We have also learned the team had been in niger for barely a month and had not done the traditional inperson turnover with the unit they were replacing, and had not conducted fffficient training with the nigerian soldiers they were operating with.
