The consensus along the leaders at least for now is to wait, but today the president said this what weve been trying to do is to continually raise the costs for russia of their actions while still leaving the possibility of them moving in a different direction, and we you know, well continue to keep some arrows in our quiver in the event that we see further deterioration of the situation over the next several days or weeks. Reporter while the u. S. And its partners in are holding off on those tougher sanctions, they will be ready as early as monday with new financial penalties on those back prorussian forces in ukraine. Current guidelines recommend statin users should exercise and stick to a healthy diet to prevent weight gain. Theyre wonderful drugs. Hes an investigator who fills read volumes with proof of piety for wouldbe saints. Are miracles still required . Miracles are still required. Pelley and how do you establish evidence of a miracle . Normally, we prefer miraculous healings. I remember i came into the congregation and someone showed me one piece of paper and said, this is sufficient to prove the miracle. Because here was a declaration that someone was healed from a horrible disease that was known by all medical sciences, completely incurable, and this person from one moment to the other was healed perfectly. Pelley and thats enough. And thats enough, well pelley a pretty good miracle. El a pretty good miracle. Pelley a tougher miracle is lasting fame, which is also required. The vatican is always a very popular place, but how do you measure the popularity of a potential saint . How do you measure devotion . Well, it turns out, right outside st. Peters square theyve got a very good barometer. Souvenir shops are a very good criterion for devotion. Pelley i think that would surprise a lot of people. Well pelley but thats one way that the faithful vote. I mean, thats how you measure popularity. Pelley lindeijer says john paul ii refrigerator magnets still attract the faithful, but the recently retired Pope Benedict xvi is failing. If after five years that fame is still there, or even better, has become bigger, we have the first stepping stone for a process. And then one starts hearing witnesses gathering documentary evidence of that sanctity. Pelley it used to be that the process of becoming a saint couldnt even begin until 50 years after a persons death. Well, that changed recently to five years. Lindeijer thinks thats not enough time. Now, the story of a modern Good Samaritan. When Lonnie Monroe spotted a Man Threatening to jump off an overpass in oakland, california, he put him in a bear hug. Others stopped to help. Someone brought a rope, and they held the man for 45 minutes until firefighters arrived. Monroe shrugged off his heroics. He said, its just the right thing to do.
