We begin with roberta. The weather has been deteriorating. It began with heavy rainfall. It wrapped up against the bay area. Within the last 30 minutes, more areas have been affected. When you see the orange and red, its moderate to heavy downpour. Its causing flooding this morning also around the Golden Gate Bridge, we have heavy rain in the city of San Francisco bay district, bay shore, mission district, you have been seeing some rain. Check this out, down the bay area, its been quiet there with only the gusty winds and now the rain is filling in as well. This is it. This is what we have been tracking since friday and this is the center of the core of the area of low pressure well defined were going to have unstable air mass through friday triggering showers. This plume of moisture is going to cause the heaviest rainfall. And then gradually into the peninsula and the south bay until 3 p. M. Behind it, once that front passes, a lot of moderate to light rainfall behind it still. Because this is subtropical in nature, we have very loud temperatures in the mid60s and currently 68 degrees. Its 68 in livermore. The winds have been gusting at 17 Miles Per Hour. 40 Miles Per Hour in berkeley. Gusty winds along the bridges these are sustained winds. These are damaging winds. Thats why we have a highwind warning in effect today and were talking about 80mileperhour winds and plus that in the highest elevations of the bay area. You couple them with the rain amounts. 9inches of rain in 24 hours. Highest elevations of the north bay. 24inches across the urban areas, one of the latest models suggests that we will see 2inches of rain between 7 00 a. M. And 9 00 a. M. Thats on top of the 10inches that fell last week we. We have a flash watch for today. Todays numbers, into the 60s. Scattered showers tomorrow. Drying out, assess the damage on saturday and sunday before we introduce more rain showers into the forecast on monday through wednesday. Thats our eye on the storm. Eye on traffic with elizabeth. Its a clogged storm drain causing the problems out in windsor. The lanes are still closed and shutting down traffic approaching the lane. Minor delays at the scene. Its interesting to see how drivers react. Some just gun it. You can see how deep the water is. Some gun it and some turn around like i just saw at this miniflood. You can see the sandbags in the doorway behind me. This is a Hardware Store they are some of the lucky people who have prepared for this storm early. In fact, the city has released an unpresident ed number of sandbags in the past 24 hours 4,000 sandbags to homeowners here in the city and looks like theyre going to need them because the rain is not letting up any time soon. Its been like this for the past hour, hour and a half the rain coming in sideways. I want to show you what it looks like. Theyre taking it slow into the 7 00 hour, now starting to pick up in terms of ground traffic as a result, they have canceled up to 170 flights incoming and outgoing and the airport has now instituted the flight Delay Program. Thats all arriving flights in between 8 00 a. M. To 11 00 p. M. Today are subject to delays on average of 220 minutes. Thats up to 4 hours of a flight delay if youre coming in, please call your airlines, check your flight. Theres a good chance youll be waiting. That means 80 of the restaurants will be closed here if youre stuck at the airport there may not be a lot to eat out here. It could be slow doing if youre trying to get a snack here at the airport. You can see traffic moving very smoothly now. Not a lot of cars looks like a lot of folks are either staying home or working from home. This is the good parking lot part, the traffic moving. See how the strong winds are blowing the flags and the flag poles, thats been the case all morning long. In fact, theres a highwind advisory on the Richmond Bridge. Theyre telling big rig drivers to avoid this bridge. Even with that advisory, i notice big rigs using this bridge. Theres one now about to get on the bridge as we speak. Lets show you some video that was shot earlier around 3 00 this morning. A large tree came down on to the eastbound direction of 80 and shut down all lanes in that eastbound direction. At one point, they reopened and was able to chop the tree up, clear it to the shoulder and able to reopen all lanes by 5 45. Lets come back live now. The advice for people at home watching this, if you can avoid this, avoid it. Because its miserable conditions here i have water in my mouth, pelted by rain drops in my eyes the good thing, a lot of folks taking the advise now, the freeway here pretty smooth traffic conditions here. The orange indicates a heavy downpour and what concerns me now, were picking up slices of red on the open waters it will skate over to the bay area and we have another cell offshore. Everyone is getting hit from oakland to the bay bridge to the city of San Francisco. You can hear the rain drops on the rooftops, same story, here again, its another slice of red immediately offshore monitoring this carefully for the potential of thunderstorm activity. I believe this is what they were alluding to, it suggested in the city of San Francisco between 7 00 and 9 00, well see two full inches of rain this is the area of low pressure, this is the powerful storm out of the pacific that were talking and tracking since last friday. We couldnt see that yesterday, its wrapping around, its tight, its going to bang up against the state of california. Behind it, unstable air mass will keep us into the scattered showers until friday. This is a plume of moisture. Its all the way back to hawaii. The wettest weather, its in the north bay right now until about 9 00 this morning and the gustiest winds as well. Peninsula, youre worst weather will range between 6 00 in morning until lunchtime. You still have a lot of rain coming. You will see it livermore. South bay, your heaviest was an inchplus per hour. Wait until we stack up the rain totals. The same one up to 40 in berkeley. The winds are dialing back because the front is now sagging to the south. Behind it, less heavy rain, less gusty winds. Now, as the winds continue to blow across the peninsula, we have this highwind warning in effect. Gusts up to 50 around the urban areas. 80plus gusts in the highest elevations. 9inches of rain will fall over the next 24 hours. With the rain heavy at times, settling down in the evening hours leaving you with scattered showers and a chance of a thunderstorm well see some lateday clearing, drying of the skies, that leads to the potential of showers returning to the bay area on monday through wednesday. Were getting a good look at what is going on out there now. I know. We knew it was going to come down hard. We knew where to send our news crews. It always tends to flood in this area, were seeing the same things in the northbound lanes now. Chp warning, there was up to 6 of water. Lets hit the roads around the bay area, lets see what is going on. More flooding coming in. This is from a member, eastbound 80 at 7th, we have flooding blocking the two right lanes. And well take you back out to the north bay, the westbound ramp, flooding in that lane, calling for road closures. Heres a live look at 880 in oakland. The camera dancing around. Silicon valley drive, its been quiet for us. Golden gate service operating, oakland Ferry Service canceled in and out of San Francisco. Theyre going to be reevaluating any minute. Cable cars not operating all day. Theyre offering bus shuttles instead. Thats the latest traffic. Looking at the roads and mass transit coming up pacific gas and electric has crews working all over the bay area. They were also busy with the storm working on Power Outages around the bay area this morning, busy trimming trees to prevent outages, extra crews on the job and theyre warning people to be careful around downed power lines. Customers see trees coming into contact with lines and most importantly, if they see a line down, assume that that line is live and call 911. The storm has called positiver outages Power Outages for thousands across the bay. The peninsula has about 3,000 customers affected. All that heavy rain has been falling steadily in the north bay. You can finally get a little daylight now as folks run down the 101. Santa rosa has strong winds and rainmaking conditions rough. Were seeing some significant damage. Around the ocean beach area, the great highway beach closed. High winds blowing. Drivers headed to the mountains are warned they could face white conditions. Were extending our coverage of the storm on kpix 5 this morning to keep you updated because a lot is going on. Good morning, everyone. Thursday, december 11th. Time now is 7 30. Lets kick it over to roberta track degrees storm. The weather is getting worse. The National Weather service has just issued a Flash Flood Warning heavy rainfall, when you see the areas of red, thats a very heavy downpour and it could produce up to an inch of rain per hour we have heavy rainfall throughout the north bay since 3 00 this morning. Its now sliding to the south. San francisco, south San Francisco hit with heavy rainfall. East bay, youve been hearing the wind now we have the rain entering the 680 corridor. This is the big picture, this is a powerful pacific storm this was the core way back here what were appearancing is here. Its tapping into the tropical moisture and it goes back into the Hawaiian Islands. Right now, the main event in the north bay, it has been since 3 00 this morning. Everything shifting into the central bay and east bay. It will worsen as the day progresses this front is powerful. Look at the temperatures, its 68 degrees in livermore, but boy, the rain is blowing sideways 40 in fremont, 44 in the bay after experiencing wind gusts earlier. Behind that slice, that frontal boundary, the winds dial back. Now at 11, the winds lessen in the north and central bay up to 20 Miles Per Hour meanwhile, we have the high wind warning in place we will see downed trees and over 80mileperhour winds nine inches of rain in 24 hours. Thats a lot of water all at once. There is flooding taking place in the north bay. There will continue to be flooding. 24inches expected across the bay area. 7 in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Thats why we have a Flash Flood Watch in effect before the entire bay area. Some sunshine that will be most welcomed over the weekend. Increase in cloud cover on sunday will lead to the potential of a minor storm system bringing more showers monday through wednesday. The north bay is take degrees brunt of the big storm. Braving the elements. Reporter it has not let up for a minute. Im in downtown, im on the sidewalk and im standing now in about 45 inches of water. Walking down the sidewalk, you can see varying levels you dont know whats under you on the sidewalk. Im not going on to the roadway where we saw a truck pass through. Public works is letting people know this is flooded and some decide to gun it and go on through the water and everybodys made it so far, others decided to turn around. At the Hardware Store, they were prepared for this. Another truck is going to make the attempt. You can see a little closer how deep the water is now. Its over the top of the wheel wells thats a powerful truck. Its swimming now. As i said, its not let up for a minute since about 3 3 00 p. M. Here in downtown. If it continues, its hard to tell how deep it could get. She said it got almost this bad last week. It shows no sign of flooding. Were now watching some breaking news in San Francisco were getting word of a number of Power Outages near the bart station that has shut down the station. Right now, trains are running through. If youre heading into San Francisco and planning on using bart, you have to get off at the powell street station. Look at this latest tweet, theres also a major power outage affecting the Marina District at the safeway f. You come to a fourway stop, treat it as a normal intersection with a fourway stop. Were not sure how big the Power Outages are. Looking live, we see the bay bridge, its quiet out there. They turned the metering lighting off. Some folks are trying to get into the city. Its the high winds that may slow you down once youre on the bridge itself, its heavy now once you try to get through Treasure Island through the tunnel area. Heres a live look at the Golden Gate Bridge getting pounded. North bay, you saw ann, if you need to get into San Francisco, golden gate ferries are operating. Theyre offering normal service. Theyve been tweeting that since early this morning. 580 to golden gate is down to about 16 minutes. We still have the travel advisory for the Richmond Bridge, theyre asking people who drive high profile vehicles, big rigs, not to use the Richmond Bridge. Traffic is light now at the toll plaza. A number of flooding reports continue to come in including this one in nevado. You saw that ponding in the roadway earlier theyre trying to clear an accident at 880 at broadway. One lane remains blocked. Wind has been moving the camera around. Theres some flight delays. Thats your latest, a busy drive to work. Very busy. The great highway is closed between highway 35, high winds is blowing sand on to the highway. There are many schools in the bay area that decided to close today because of the weather. As the winds pick up, thats when you get problems and massive delays theyre up to 175 flight cancellations, thats departures and arrivals. More significantically, the faa instituted a flight Delay Program theyre holding flights inbound and assigning them, that means delays up to 220 minutes, thats also impacting a lot of the departing flights we met a lot of people out here that have delays up to two hours we met the school kids heading out to d. In the westbound direction, traffic is extremely light. Looks like a lot of folks are staying home or working at home you can see it is coming down in sheets right now and it is very gusty. Look at the two flag poles now you can see theyre being blown around by heavy rain and winds. Theres a highwind advisory. The chp advising drivers and high profile drivers to avoid this bridge. Even with that advisory, we see a lot of big rigs coming through. Lets show you some video that we shot earlier, a large tree came down on the highway. They had to shut down all lanes at one point. It wasnt until around 5 45 they were able to reopen the eastbound direction. All lanes reopened around that time. Lets come back now and look at the storm drain now. The rain is coming down so fast, you can see all four directions, thats where all of that rainwater is coming from. There are four streams coming from four directions. The good news, the storm drain is not clogged so not causing flooding thats the good news. Its extremely heavy rain now and very gusty winds. I know you have your hands full today including a big outage in San Francisco. Whats the latest . Were still compiling numbers on San Francisco to get the most accurate numbers at this point. The peninsula, we have 5700 without power. North bay, 2900 customers without power. 900 out in the east bay. From the south bay, 2800 customers out and for Santa Cruz County and the mountains, we have a combined about 5100 customers out at this point. What are you doing now to make sure that the power gets restored to them . We have crews working and working as safely as possible. At this point, its due to the conditions the crews are working through theyre working and will work around the clock as quickly as they can. We do have extra crews and resources working to restore outages we prestaged personnel at base camps located throughout the area to quickly respond to trouble as it comes as the storm passes through, well dispatch from the less impacted region to assist. We have mutual agreements and contract crews as well. We have all crews on our standby and responding as they occur and working as safely as that can with the number of outages and the conditions. Again, we cant set those firm estimate this is morning. What about advice for those who dont have power and might be using a flash flight, what can you tell them . We would like to remind folks, safety first. Safety is a priority. We would like to remind folks, if you experience an outage, try not to use candles for a light source if possible. Use batteryoperated flashlights. If you have to use candles, keep them away from christmas trees, anything that could start a fire. Also, one helpful tool, if you have not experienced an outage, try to freeze gallon containers like a milk jug or container of water which has moved through and that can help keep your food safe from spoiling at least a little bit longer. One thing that is important, we always remind folks, if you come across a downed power line, treat it as if it is live. Never come in contact with the lines. Keep children, pets and others away. That means that the flooding is happening now. 3 hour and 40 minute delays reported. The bay is pounded with heavy downpours and some of these contain an inch to an inch half of rainfall per hour you couple that with the gusty winds we see the rain beginning to lighten up in portions of the light bay. Moderate to heavy rainfall. But its good news here where you can see the shades of green. The front has passed the area and now sagging to the south. That will be the scenario, this is the frontal boundary. We couldnt see that 24 hours ago. Its well defined now. Behind it, a lot of unstable air mass we have the wrap around moisture in the form of showers tomorrow were dealing with that and it goes back to the Hawaiian Islands and as it does, the worst weather is moving out of the north bay. The timing places over the central bay now moving more into the eastern portion of the bay area with some winds in excess of 50 Miles Per Hour. The worst weather around the lunch area, same story around the santa cruz and gustier winds in the Higher Elevations now because of the air mass, its 68 degrees in livermore. Meanwhile, looking at the wind speeds, its the chapter 2 in this story. 37mileperhour winds in vallejo, those will increase as the front approaches. The winds are dying down in nevada we have the highwind warning in effect. These are damaging winds we will see downed trees and downed power lines in addition to the Copious Amounts of rainfall were forecasting nine inches of rainfall in the north bay mountains and coastal range. 7 in the Santa Cruz Mountains. Thats on top of what accumulated. Basically speaking, 24inches across the urban areas were looking at 2 1 2 inches between now and 9 00 in morning for the bay area. Were going to kick it right over to the storm, light rainfall, the yellow shows moderate precipitation. Its downright hard rain falling through the bay area we have seen these slices of red coming in off of the ocean on shore were seeing around the oakland area, so many areas are getting just pounded, its hard to detect everyone or note everyone. Its making tracks towards woodside and redwood city. Youre going to have some pretty heavy downpours to the next 1015 minutes highdef indicating some good news, this is the tail end of the front that has been pounding the north bay, when you see the lighter shades of green, that is the case, a more moderate to light rainfall. Were seeing a break throughout the area. This is the frontal boundary. This is what is impacting us now. Its all the way back to the islands, tapping into the moisture. We have some much rain falling at once. By 9 00, you see a lot of people just breathing a sigh of relief well have some light rainfall but the heaviest across the central portion of the bay and the eastern portion. So, with the rain showers, we have a lot of air mass that has the subtropical influence with it. 67 degrees in livermore, thats typically a daytime High Temperature running 7 degrees above average. Winds are the other story. Winds up to 36 Miles Per Hour. 29 in oakland. Meanwhile, we had 13mileperhour winds in napa. Theyre on the tail end of the front. But these gusty winds have prompted a highwind warning to be hoisted across the bay area. Some winds in excess of 80 Miles Per Hour, at least the gusts in the highest elevations of the bay area. Rainfall, thats another story. 9inchings inches of rain will accumulate. 7inches Santa Cruz Mountains thats why we have a Flash Flood Warning in effect. We have a break over the weekend before we introduce a new storm. If theres any good news in this, we have not seen any major accidents or slowdowns this morning. There are far fewer cars on the roads. Thats helping a lot. The rain really coming down now in San Francisco its causing a pretty massive widespread power outage from the Marina District to the financial district. The bart station is closed. Trains are just running straight through if you need to get off through there, you can use the powell street station instead. Heres a look at the Golden Gate Bridge, ferries are on schedule right now. If youre hitting the road on 101, the reports of flooding, overall, looks okay. Travel advisories in affect for the high winds. Avoid the Richmond Santa fe bridge. Theyre saying to use 37 or the 101 even though its a long way around. The city of novato says its given out an unprecedented number of sandbags over the past 36 hours as people were prepping for the storm they gave out about 4,000 sandbags they ran out of sand for a little while, they now have more, but hopefully youre prepared at this point. You can see how deep the water is getting. You can see it on this block and one block up, the main drag here in downtown novato, you would have no idea how shady things are getting in some of the other neighborhoods. Thats live right now. Its been raining like this for the better part of two hours coming down in sheets. The winds are sustained at 25 Miles Per Hour on the runway. Not enough to shut the airport down but enough to slow things down. The number of cancellations up to 212 flights canceled. Thats inbound and Outgoing Flights they have instituted a flight Delay Program that means flights coming in until 11 00 tonight are subject to delay up to 220 minutes now we see what is a flight Delay Program. You think of a freeway that might have 4 lanes normally and now its reduced down to 2 lanes that reduces the accessibility. They are saying now that if your flight is canceled, your best bet is to stay home and enjoy it from the comfort of your own home were not running into a lot of people with canceled flights, but delayed flights, from 45 minutes up to 3 hours here. Now we have a Flash Flood Warning for San Francisco county, the cities of south San Francisco, san mateo, foster city, and belmont as everybody is going to start seeing the warnings going into effect. Through San Francisco, and thats when you saw the Flash Flood Warning go into effect. Sonoma county, with the front impacting the area. You can see the 586 corridor now starting to see the leading edge of the frontal boundary and that continues to sag in a southerly direction. Some has asked has this slowed down, that is good news because if its stalls over the bay area, thats when you start to see even additional rainfall. Ahead of that front, the wind speeds this morning, excess of 55 Miles Per Hour throughout the urban areas, above 80mileperhour wind gusts, we have seen 100 100 in the sierra. I received one unconfirmed report of 162mileperhour winds. We have a live look at san jose, levi stadium somewhere there. We have a beautiful shot. Right now, its a mess. It did rise with the one day storm that blue through the area. What were experiencing today is a oneday storm which is scattered showers moving through on the backside of the front, this area of low pressure is going to produce up to 9inch of rain in the mountainous areas, easily, 24inches across most urban areas. Its developing now. You mentioned and jose has light to moderate rain. They will get hit the. A lot of people have warnings and kids at home. A lot of people stayed home because its ugly out there. We would like to see some pictures we will see pictures from folks taking shots. But lets go over to liz now and find out how were doing. Not bad today. The roads have been relatively okay. A quick note, the ferries have been canceled out of alameda. Heres a live look at flooded roadway, northbound 101 at lucky drive, you can see cars get through okay. Theyre making big slashes as you get through when the rain is coming down. San francisco is getting pounded by rain. Lets get a check of the bay bridge. You can see how light traffic is if you clear your way through the rain drops. The only thing to deal with, its very gusty and drivers are saying they have to hang onto their steering wheels we are seeing drivers slowing down. Even though traffic is light, sensors are picking up delays between oakland and San Francisco also more flooding northbound at john daly boulevard causing a delay into the San Francisco area. Heres a live look, obviously, its pounding here at well. They cleared a couple of earlier accidents near downtown, traffic is just a light drive and taking it slow. We havent seen too many delays or incidents or major hot spots. A power outage in San Francisco affecting a number of streets and the montgomery station, theyre running straight through. We understand there is still a high wind advisory in effect for the Richmond San Raphael bridge. Theyre asking big rigs and high profile vehicles not to use these bridges. Theyre asking them not to drive on the san raphael bridge. Its an advisory not a mandate. You still have big rigs and high profile vehicles using this bridge as we speak. Lets show you video we shot this morning. This was around 3 00 in the morning, a large eucalyptus tree actually fell down on highway 180. They had to shut down all lanes in the eastbound direction. They were able to move the downed tree out quickly. They were able to reopen traffic to the eastbound direction around 5 45. Thats the good news. Lets come on back now live. We have a couple of systems, last week and with this strong storm system, we do expect quite a few downed trees throughout the east bay and perhaps throughout the bay area. But, again, i mean this is actually pretty light compared to what we saw about 30 minutes ago. Now, its okay. Just because the wind gusts basically died down. Were going it take you across that bridge now, over to downtown novato. Its hard to tell where the sidewalk is and where the roadway starts. It was a difficult time for this woman to get into her car. Watch how she checks out how deep the flooding is there. She made it inside her car. If youre planning to head out, its wet and lots of rain and noding to deal without flooding to deal without there. If youre planning to go northbound on highway 101 check out lucky drive and remarks bother, theres a lot of storms. Theyll keep getting rain coming down on the row ways. The roadways. San bruin know station san bruno station closed due to flooding. Trains are not stopping in montgomery. You have to get off at em bar codare owe. Thats right. Did a lot of folks just stay home today. We havent had a chance to look at the ridership just yet. Were focusing on keeping the trains moving. What should people know who may be heading out to work right now and they want to take bart, what should they know . The absolute thing to keep in mind is to build in extra time for your commute so when you get to the bart station youre not running in there and potentially trying to catch a train and slip. The trains are delayed because of the rain and it will take longer to get your destination. Tell us about the two stations san bruno and montgomery station, when will they be running again . One is electricity, pg e is trying to restore power, but weve got our own crews trying to get a generator that will provide emergency lighting. As far as san bruno is concerned, we have pumps that are loaded on vehicles that we can send to try to pump out areas. Its difficult to predict when flooding has been mitigated. Okay. Theyre going to have to close the embarcadaro, from at t park out to pier 39 because of Flooding Issues and stuff. Were getting word of that within the last few seconds here. The two stations that are closed once again, maybe we can put that on the screen for you are montgomery and san bruno. Theyre running through those stations radio it, now, to try to get in the financial district is embarcadero. Trains are running at lower speeds because of the wet weather. San Francisco Bay Ferry Service out of alameda and oakland, there will be no service until 2 00 this afternoon. Theyll give another update then. Cable cars youre out of luck. Theyre offering bus shuttles instead. Here is a live look at the bay bridge toll plaza. I put up a tweet moments ago from kcbs, there are major flooding in market, mission, freemont and howard streets. Obviously, the embarcadero as well. A joke is made over the waterfront property. You have to be careful through parts of the city. We have flooding on southbound 280, apparently all lanes are under a lot of ponding. You can see the delays now heading into that area, backed up all the way along that corridor. 101 is not a lot better. Im getting word of flooding at oyster point and again closer to candlestick park. Well continue to watch it all for you. In the meantime roberta is tracking the storm where it is next. Here she is. The storm was poised and positioned to move into the bay area. It began to peculiar up steam and slice through the north bay. Look at our doppler radar. Well see a breakin the northern portions of the bay area. Look at all the yellow and orange, thats moderate to heavy rain. When you see red, thats an inch to an inch and a half falling per hour. And 880, you have treacherous travel and all this continues to dig that southerly fashion. Look at this extend all the way across the peninsula from redwood city and all this is dipping towards the palo alto area, and Mountain View area youll get smacked hard in the next 15 to 20 minutes. This is the north bay. This is an improving situation. We have pockets of moderate to heavy rainfall. Petaluma, novato, napa, im talking with the Weather Service, theyre going to issue a support whether we expect the napa river to reach flood stage. You see this area of green, this is the backside of the frontal boundary that continues to slice in a southerly direction. Were seeing a bit of a break with the north side of the bay. However, this is a mammoth situation as far as this area of low pressure is concerned. Were taking up a lot of real estate. This is the koran center of the area of low pressure. It looks like a big giant comma. We could not see that yesterday. We see a cotton ball effect. That leaves unstable air mass. That will trigger showers on friday. Right now what were dealing with this is right here. Thats that frontal boundary right here in windsor. This is moving in the bay area and continues in the southerly direction. As it does, the heaviest rainfall in the north bay is moving towards San Francisco. Its moving across the peninsula and the a portion of the bay area. Youre experiencing your worse weather right now, up to the lunch hour with gusty winds up to 50 Miles Per Hour in the urban areas. South bay youre experiencing the worst weather until 1 00 this afternoon. When i say worse weather, youll have light rain showers at the back end and at times heavy rain. Right now the air mass is so juicy with tropical moisture, but where the rain is moving into the city of San Francisco, we have 59 degrees. The other side of this story happens to be the very gusty winds and sustained winds as well. 39 Miles Per Hour in redwood city, 36 in san ramon, 36 in sonoma and American Canyon area. And novato down to 3 now. Santa rosa again, kind of a flat wind at 11 Miles Per Hour. Berkeley has winds up to 37. These are damaging winds. Down come the trees, down come the power lines and we have the high wind warning in effect for tonight. Futurecast clearly illustrates as we tally up the rainfall totals we should see 9 inches of rain in the highest areas, the north bay and the coastal range. 2 to 4 inches of rain in our urban areas. We could see two inches of rain between 7 00 and up to 9 00 minutes from now. Well wait to see those rainfall totals. 7 inches of rain in the Santa Cruz Mountains. We have a Flash Flood Warning in effect for many of our local counties as well as a Flash Flood Watch. Theres flooding taking place just about everywhere. A advisory in place today. Its breaking up to 25 feet. Thats why there are closures at the embarcadero. Heavy rain taking off to showers tonight. The wind will decrease from 10 to 20. Well have a dry day on saturday and sunday before we introduce increasing clouds sunday night from monday through wednesday. Not a sun ball in there. A little peekaboo sunshine.
