Nevada Highway Patrol troopers responded to multiple crashes throughout northern nevada. Troopers want to remind everyone if you must drive 3 bill 3 this winter storm not only caused crashes and closures. It also caused some flooding in higher elevations. Youre looking at video from soda springs. Caltrans say the flooding was caused by an ice dam. Clear out some of that ice and water. 3 sam two men missing on mount rose this weekend. Have been found safe. Search and rescue crews escorted them down the mountain saturday. They reached davis creek park at about just before midnight saturday night. The men were snowboarding and skiing at Mount Rose Ski tahoe. When they went off course. It took rescue crews more than five hours to find them. Using the gp s on the mens cell phones. But both were in good condition. 3 bill on the crime watch this morning. South Lake Tahoe Police are investigating a homicide that happened there this weekend. Police say they at about 7 45 saturday night. To find 40yearold Dennis Michael wright, junior suffering from at least one gunshot wound to the chest. Wright was taken to the hospital. Where he later died. Detectives say he and his female companion. 45year old kendra ghiorso. Drove to the motel to deliver 100 pounds of marijuana. 3 bill police say the homicide was a result of that drug deal. But they are still looking for several suspects that may have been responsible for the shooting. For anyone with information about a a tal hit and run crash that happened early saturday morning. Police say it occurred just before 6 00 a m. At fourth and spokane streets in reno. Shaw we just want people to be informed of the dangers, it is illegal to camp along the river, this is one of many reasons why. The Truckee River in reno peaked nearly 8 feet saturday morning. About 3 feet below flood stage. According to the National Weather service. So reno police were out along the Truckee River corridor reminding the Homeless Population about the dangers of camping along the banks. Sot lt. Shaw when the river starts flowing pretty fast we dont want to see people in the river because the flow rate is very dangerous, to mention this water is very cold and it doesnt take very long for people to become hypothermic, the Fire Department runs an excellent River Rescue Team and we dont want to have to see them utilize that today so that is really the purpose of our outreach and education. Updated numbers could come out later today. This is as of 6 00 p. M. From different areas through the viewing area. We know 1 inches of snow, 9 inches at virginia. Carson city 8 as well. Golden valley at 7. Ski reports will come out around 6 30, 7 00 this morning. Well bring you those as we get those as wall. The high today, its chilly one. Not really looking for any new snow out there. Just partly cloudy skies, highs in the 30s and 20s. Northwest winds 10 to 15. Gusts as high as 50 Miles Per Hour. The biggest advice we have for people today is take it slow and easy. I know we say it every times it snows, but its really dangerous. We want everyone to be safe. Quite a few car crashes because of the Winter Weather. Want to avoid that today. Take it slow, take it easy, and this safe. With all the snow we did see people waking up to snow covering their cars. Give yourself a few extra minutes not only to defrost your windshield, but get to where youre going. A lot of us at the station had a few problems sliding out on our way to work. The men were snow boarding and skiing at Mount Rose Ski tahoe when they went off course. Took rescue crews about five hours to find them using gps on cell phones. Both, when they were rescued, were said to be in good condition. They had some tough, tough conditions for those search crews, too.
