Then they found out, no comment is not available. Buses are coming in. Another buses pulling up. There is really no schedule. They are coming here picking up people as fast as they possibly can, going into San Francisco, turning around, coming back here, and picking up the people. You can see the people are starting to board. Lets see if we cans if we can talk to some people here. Did you know about the odor or smell the odor last night . I know. I did not smell any thing. Reporter as i walked down here, you can see that the last time that you saw me was 20 minutes ago and that line was long. Nothing like this. Many people are showing up. Either they did not know or simply have no choice but to wait in line. They said they getting into traffic and going into San Francisco, paying toll, paying parking, just not worth it. They would rather be here and wait for however long it takes for the buses to arrive. Lets see if we can talk to some people. Excuse me maam, what time did you get here . 630 6 30 am. Did you know there was no Ferry Service . No, i did not know. Is driving a possibility . No. Why not . It is not worth it. In the carpool lane, theres going to be some anymore in the carpool lane because of this. Do you ladies live in alejo . Did you smell it here last night . I i did. It was very bad here last night. It should be up to the coast guard they did tell me a little earlier this morning that they would expand the search to land, train tracks, to see if any other sources, besides boats or ships, might have caused this possible oral smell and that people are smelling this morning. Until they find out, it looks like a very service will be shut down indefinitely. This bus holds 55 maybe up to maybe 60 people. There are a lot more than 60 people. Replaced by two buses only from alejo to San Francisco. As we receive more information, we will definitely pass it along. Those are your options. That will slow you down also if you drive on the freeway. That is just making things worse. It is about 63 minutes to get from hercules through all of the slowed traffic and into San Francisco. Violent protests are finally over after demonstrators went to the streets in charlotte overnight to protest a deadly shooting. James is following at the news desk. Trip 15 officers were injured in protesters, as you said, took over the street. We want to get to the video. It shows you how hectic and chaotic the scene was in charlotte. These protest breaking out after police shot and killed a man while serving a warrant for a different person. Protesters started smell throwing things at the officers and started jumping on the cars in the area. We want to show you a picture of the man that police shot and killed. This is 40 this is tuesday afternoon. We just had a Police Conference from charlotte and the Police Officers said they gave scott multiple warnings before fatally shooting. They saw that he exited the vehicle and he had a handgun. They told him to drop it. The man was shot because he posed a threat. The man who shot scott is also black. He is on paid administrative leave. They did not seem to satisfy protesters last night. We want to show you again more pictures from the scene. This time im high above interstate 85. That is where officers were right there forming a line between them in protesters. We had fires started on the freeway. There is a picture of that. We had big rigs that were looted. The good news is that this morning they are empty of protest the streets are empty of protesters. The police chief said if they can identify those who are breaking the law last night will be arrested. We will continue to follow police developments later in charlotte, North Carolina. 7 07 am. People were also out protesting in tulsa, oklahoma yesterday after police shot and killed a man there. Lets take a look at the video. This is a 40yearold walking to his car with his hands up. The shooting happened on friday but the video was released yesterday. Them man stood outside the suv and was shot and killed by officers. Police say that he put his hand inside the car, and that is why they opened fire. The officers also said they found a drug pcp in the car. The family said talking about drugs is a distraction about the questions about use of deadly force. Officer the officer has been paid for administratively. There is but another Sexual Assault on the uc berkeley campus. It happened at the same day that three other Sexual Assaults had been reported on another college campus. Differently scary thought for the Campus Community. Another reported rape. This time, inside of a dormitory. Take a look at some of the video that we have of that dorm. It is called the durand avenue door to durand avenue dorm complex. Each dorm houses 230 students. While there were not too many details included in a statement from police about the incident, here is what we do know. On monday, a female student reported being raped inside the dorm complex. The assault happened on saturday, reported being raped inside the dorm complex. The assault happened on saturday, september 10. That is the same day that there were three other Sexual Assaults reported at cal following a concert at the greek theatre. No word if this incident is connected to the conference. The document is not shed light on many details. We do not know if the student victim knew her alleged attacker or if that alleged attacker was a student at all. Campus police say that the investigation is ongoing. This also comes just days after a 25yearold man was arrested in connection to another rape inside i a campus dormitory. New clues about what may have motivated the man who planted bombs in new york and new jersey. It appears that the police looked into the afghan born us citizen several years ago. But they found nothing. He bought bomb ingredients on ebay and he is now facing for federal charges for the weekend bombings including using a weapon of mass destruction. His father spoke with reporters yesterday and said that he had expressed concern about his son two years ago. Did you call the fbi two years ago . I i did. By son impacted my life, and i put him in jail two years ago. Reporter investigators want to know if there is a link to a specific terror group. Police say that he had a notebook with them and there were writings that reference terrace, including the 2013 Boston Marathon bombers. The fbi is using his past investigation of from a is using his past while investigating the suspect. New information in kron4 who are waiting for a bus bridge in alejo because they are not running the fairies. They ordered the buses late. Those buses have arrived and those people are waiting for a 6 30 am ferry the never did take off. You can see why. They are worried about a an oil slick in the water. They did order to more buses to cover that 7 45 am Ferry Service that is apparently not going to happen as well. It looks like that is a total of four buses for however many passengers. Were waiting to see about any pollution in alejo after there was a shelter in place overnight. The shelter in place has been lifted. The coast guard is concerned about an oil slick and that is why they will not allow the fairies to move through the water this morning. Welcome back to the kron4 morning news. A live look at of alejo. The coast guard is trying to find out what calls a gas leak in alejo that sickened people overnight. The coast guard out on the water right now. They are seeing if it is an oil sheen on the water near the alejo. The crews responded overnight but they could not find the sheen. They are flying over the area right now looking for the sheen. Now that it is light out, crews do not know if this sheen is related to the strong odor that was reported in alejo. As a precaution, they do not want to disrupt the water if there is some sort of leak in the water. If you are not able to get on one of the two boxes to buses, there are more buses on the way. There are people stranded on the street waiting for those buses. And there is another ferry that is scheduled. 11 45 am. And if you know right now, maybe you dry. I have several problems on the east shore freeway. They would have to drive and use 80 and that is a mess too. You either deal with the commute traffic, you wait in line, or you drive to richmond or el cerrito and hop on bart. That is that way you do not have to drive all the way into San Francisco. Were going to stay on top of the situation and let you know when those buses arrive and how much of a delay it will calls. The next departure scheduled that would be taking off right now, the 7 45 am. As you can see, it will be replaced by buses. You may want to work from home today. That is one option too. Checking in on the rest of the bay area. I mentioned problems on the east shore seaway. What you get to crockett and hercules, you will be stuck in this back up. It is a motorcycle accident west of the highway for split. Not a major Traffic Alert but it is making things worse there. It is backed up coming off of the [ null ] bridge. A whopping 47 coming off of the bridge. Once you get to that, you will have to deal with a ride into San Francisco. The usual backup. It is now 20 minutes from the foot of the maze over to fremont street. Crowded as usual but nothing strange going on there. A quick look at the lower east shore freeway. It will be 27 minutes to get from highway 4 down to the maze. No other problems on the lower east shore. It is the upper east shore. Heres a commute to the north bay. No trouble spots but it is heavy at the tolls. Backup to harbor way. Another stretch from midspan coming off the bridge heading toward sank when. Heavier traffic now for the 7 00 hour. The commute is usually much later but the 7 00 hour is packed and were looking at 80 minutes from the tolls out to 101. Of morning everybody. She was arrested in florida for aggravated battery but we did no contest. Now, the father is seeking justice. The man was involved with my daughter, and she is doing the best that she can. It is a process and everything. She has a lot of damage that was done mentally. Jasmines attorney recently filed a 66 million civil lawsuit against the city of oakland. The Alameda County das office has charged five officers and the Police Sex Scandal. So far, two officers have yet to be charged. A man in the north bay has been arrested for sexual abuse of a child. Police are worried there could be more victims. 68yearold paul kilgore was arrested on sunday. Someone saw the man inappropriately touching two young boys in the shower area of the Park Point Health Club in hillsboro. After an investigation, they found out that he served as a mentor of some sort and regularly took boys under the age of 14 on outings and overnight trips. They also say that he is accused of sexually abusing some of the boys that he meant toward. Police received a number of calls saying that they were victims of kilgore and are asking and they are asking for anyone with information to come forward. A man who randomly tried to kidnap a woman off of the streets in the east bay is behind bars this morning. Take a look at a sketch of a man. He is an exconvict from southern california. Police found him out of stay with relatives. Back in july, police say that he pepper sprayed a woman and dragged her toward her car in san leandro. A Good Samaritan saw what was going on and stepped in. To see that type of behavior, that crushed me. I did not want to see that happen with anyone else at least with this guy. Im glad he is off of the streets now. That is a guy that stepped in and prevented this from happening. Here is the surveillance photo of the suspect. He is going to be extradited to albia county. Police say he had just gotten off of parole for committing Violent Crimes 10 days before the attempted abduction. They do not know why he tried to kidnap that woman. There will no longer be bar closures on the weekends. After expensive repair work over the weekend, bart officials said they were supposed to close a track for seven weekends. And said, they completed the work after five weeks. During that time, passengers were expected to get off the train and take bus service. The recall involves three involves 31 seats. It couldnt it could increase a childs risk in a crash. There been no reports of injuries but there have been several complaints the children have been able to loosen the harnesses themselves. The company will be replied providing a replacement harness for free. Your fitness tracker may not actually help you lose weight. This is according to a new study they did from the university of pittsburgh. But it looks good on your arm. When compared into sets of dieters, they found that the fitness tracker lost less weight than those not wearing them. The Ferry Service close down this morning because there were concerns from the coast guard about a possible sheen in the water in concern that the fairies could disrupt that sheen. There was a smell overnight, a noxious odor. Some people were sent to the hospital. It was a shelter in place until 6 am. A lot of people would like to be on that ferry, but instead, they are lined up on the sidewalks waiting for bus bridges that have been shuttling people. Fila protester over after demonstrators took over the streets of charlotte, North Carolina overnight to protest a Deadly Police shooting. We are following this at the breaking news desk. James . Reporter demonstrators are angry over the killing of a black men while serving a warrant on somebody else. Those protests started out peacefully but then interrupted in charlotte come overnight. You can see in this video that in our newsroom this morning, what police were dealing with the webpage will demonstrate were caught up in as some of those in the crowd began to get violent. Demonstrators throwing throwing water balls and rocks of police. That injured, at last count, 16 officers and dozens of protesters. It even shut down a portion of the highway in the area and at one point ransacked the trailer of a big rig and again setting fire items on fire. This was sparked by the deadly shooting of scott. They came upon scott who they said was armed. Coming up at 8 00, you will hear from the police chief as he described exactly what happened in those moments leading up to the shooting. He spoke to the meeting the last hour, and i want you to see that there is a press conference underway right now where we have members of scotts family and the naacp talking to reporters now.
