It does not appear that speed or impairment played a role in the crash. The intersection will be closed throughout the evening. Another wrongway driver slams into a car going in the wrong direction. Both drivers killed. That crash shut down the loop 101 at i17 for more than five hours this morning. Were learning more about the crash and what is being done t hopefully prevent the wrongway crashes in the future. This has been an ongoing problem in the valley. Reporter under the influence and driving a car before heading down the wrong way on the freeway and almost certain disaster awaits. The battle against the impaired driver is a challenging problem.
