Our crews spoke to one students grandmother, who had her home evaluated. Georgette byrd says the epa found traces of mercury in living areas. But she says the highest levels were in her grandaughters jacket. They told us the level of 6000 is high and the jacket jacket was at 20,000 out in the sun. And constantly running her ac. In total 80 homes were inpected for mercury. One home had such Dangerous Levels inside the family was forced to leave. As for the school. The epa says mercury levels were highest in the gym and locker rooms. Were told readings there were 10 to 15 times higher than the safe amount. Students missed 3 days of school so they will most likely day. As students return back to school a lot of them still dont have their belongings chopper 13 fast and first over the school where you can see trash bags full of things like backpacks. Shoes and socks.
