Disgraced Comedian Bill Cosby kept his head down as he walked out of the courtroom wednesday night. In december, cosby was charged with drugging and sexually assaulting Andrea Constand at his pennsylvania home in 2004. As part of their effort to have that criminal charge dismissed, cosbys defense team called on former District Attorney bruce castor to testify. Castor said he made a verbal promise with cosbys former attorney in 2005 to not prosecute the comedian in the constand case, hoping to strip right not to incriminate himself. Then he said cosby would be forced to answer questions in a civil case. On wednesday constands lawyer said she wasnt aware of that deal and criticized castors decadeold decision saying he was not going to alien fans of dr. Huxtable. Montgomerys current District Attorney questioned the agreements current availability. A secret agreement that permits a wealthy defendant to buy his way out of a criminal case isnt right, he said. Cosbys attorney defended the deal saying, what were talking about here is honoring a commitment. His argument was ludicrous. Jeff lindy is a criminal defense attorney in philadelphia.
