Alex savidge is live in San Francisco with more on the bug and who is at risk. Alex. Reporter good morning. Computer experts call this one of the most serious security flaws uncovered in recent years. Hackers have found a way to get past Security Software use by all sorts of websites including popular places that you visit. The issue is with the encryption. You will notice the sites many begin with https. The s stands for secure but it turns out that may not have been the case with the so called heart bleed bug. It could impact up to two thirds of all websites. It was discovered by a Security Firm until finland working with google. They are using a Security Software known as open ssl. Hackers can potentially access things like pass words and credit card numbers without anyone even noticing. And the real troubling part about this is the heart bleed bug has been in existence for the past two years but the problem was just now discovered. And this issue is so serious that the u. S. Government is now advising businesses to check for online vulnerabilities. Many websites and businesses are scrambling to come up with fixes and update their software. Now as far as what you should be doing as a computer user at home, there is a bit of conflicting advice here. Some websites are urging users to change their pass words right away. But others say that may not be a good idea because going on to a site that is potentially still vulnerable may make things even worse. As we take a look and pan toward the right as well, you can see more 069 damage to the house. At least one boat was damaged. You can see inside the garage as well. One car was damaged. The fire started inside the garage but there was some smoke damage inside the house as well. Again pretty extensive damage. And you mentioned the family. It was a family of five. It took about 45 minutes to knock it out but there is a fire investigator that arrived on scene just moments ago. But the problem here is the fact that part of the roof has collapsed on the garage this morning. If we take a look at the damage inside the garage, especially the car, you can see part of that roof is basically on top of the car. They tried to moving it this morning but they had problems with it. They will survey the damage and see if the car can be removed and eventually that roof will collapse.
