Gilroy police shot and killed a man expected in a violent confrontation at an apartment. About 7 00, officers responded to a Domestic Violence call on an apartment complex near gilroy high school. Police say there was a violent fight between a man and a woman. What officers went up to the apartment, the man came out. That is when one of the officers opened fire killing him. Theres not clear if the man was armed or he did something to threaten the police. We know the officer involved. San jose police are looking for ai man who stole a teenage girls car and shot her when she tried to get away. This happened last night about 6 30. The 127yearold girl was with some friends. She confronted him. There was a brief exchange of words and he shot him in the chest and drove off in her car. She is expected to survive. The gunman later abandoned her car a mile away. Investigators examined the carp before towing it away. The San Francisco chronicle reports that two San FranciscoPolice Officers involved in the controversial shooting death of mario woods had previously been accused of using Excessive Force. Officers are among five Police Officers on administrative leave while the shooting is being investigated. According to Court Records cited by the chronicle, a former Antioch Police officer was name until a federal civil law rights lawsuit for shooting two suspects in 2009 who claimed that they had their hands up. The civil suit is on hold after one of the suspects was charged with killing two women at a San FranciscoJewelry Store in 2013. Now, the chronicle also reports that officer Charles August had two Excessive Force cases settled out of court. He was accused of beating a man in the bay view in 2013 and choking a hand cuffed man in 2009. Now, the San Francisco police union is at odds with two supervisors. September an angry letter to david campos who announced the department has lost the publics trust. The police union criticized me leah cohen for calling the shooting the result of an ethnically diverse firing squad. This represents cohens disdain for the men and women who protect San Francisco. Three teenagers are under arrest after police say they threw a rock from a win through a window of a s. W. A. T. Fan. Police say the rock shattered the passenger window of the van and struck the officer in the forehead. They say he was bleeding so profusely that his fellow officers initially thought he had been shot. The injured officer was treated at a local Trauma Center and has been since released. The three teenagers were detained in the area. Police say they admitted to throwing the rock and they were sorry. Today the San Jose City council set to vote on a special memorial for a Police Officer who died in the line of duty earlier this year. Michael january johnson grew up in san jose and had been a Police Officer with the city for 146 years. He was kimed during a standoff with jesus sigh dahl man last march. The state has approved naming a fivemile stretch of highway 87 in san jose in memory of johnson. The City Council Must now approve spending 6000 for memorial signs. His mother remembers bikeriding with him on that section of freeway when it was under construction.
