And i think the traffic patterns, i think the super bowl has changed bay area traffic patterns, and a lot of people will not go to the city using the car. A lot of people will be on bart though. More than a Million People are expected to come. Some are renting cars and others are take public transit. And bart set a record. It was the 6th busiest day ever with people traveling to the nfl experience. And people will be heading to the city for alicia keys concert and the warriors are playing. Traffic will be heavy. Many of the trains will provide direct service to levis stadium. The biggest change will be for riders not going to the game traveling from Mountain View. For regular riders coming from Mountain View into san jose, we will have substitute bus service instead of light rail for them. All the trains coming from Mountain View will be direct service for super bowl attendees. Reporter and many people coming from San Francisco to go to the game as she was saying will be using caltrain and stopping to hop on light rail. The vta is closing the champion, moffat park. Now in latin america, where the zika Virus Outbreak started, Mosquito Control efforts have been ramped up as you can imagine. The virus is believed to cause birth defects in babies whose mothers were infected while they were pregnant. Mosquito control in the bay area take extra steps to reduce mosquito breeding sites to prevent the spread of the zika virus. The sweets are not native to california but are present in some areas. And the San Francisco airport at 101 looks good in san bruno and highway 101. Nanette that is the closest to mineta is the closest to the stadium. Even northbound 101 looks good if youre going to mineta san jose. And if you happen to be driving to levis stadium, the roads are clear. 6 35 and lets go back to the desk. Super bowl l bringing a lot of celebrities and nfl stars of course to the bay area. And many of them making a stop at radio row in San Franciscos moscone center. Things are starting to gear up out there. Reporter things are heating up at radio row inside moss cone any moscone west. Were standing in front of the nfl networks set. Yesterday was the last day of public practices for the two super bowl teams. The Carolina Panthers have been at san jose state. And the Denver Broncos at stanford. A Record Number of private jets will be flying in. 1200 luxury jets are expected to arrive in San Francisco, oakland, san jose, and concord. The agency is working with air Traffic Control to accommodate parking and crowd control. So far those flying commercial airlines should in the be affected by the private jets. Organizers for mavericks held at Half Moon Bay had to put off the competition because theres not enough Emergency Responders on the ready. The coast guard and the Sheriffs Department are stretched thin because theyre working the super bowl and super bowl related events. Organizers say it wasnt worth taking the risk even though the conditions are probably the best theyve seen in quite a long time. If there wasnt blackout dates, today would have one of the all time contests ever. Just keep our fingers crossed and hope we get another one like that. He started the competition back in 1998. The last time conditions were good enough to hold mavericks was around two years ago. The window for the competition started on november 1st and goes until march 31st. He went on to say that yesterdays conditions would have been in the top 10. The blackout period ends on monday. And holding the competition is always a scramble. Theres a forecaster that keeps an eye on the conditions and they notify the top surfers when conditions are right. They have 48 hours to get there. Get from wherever they are in the world. Its always quite a thing to get the surfers here for the ideal conditions. And yesterday would have been it. Hopefully, the window opens again. Time is 6 41. A homeless man accused of stabbing a chp officer may not be getting out of jail any time soon. Bail is set at 5 million. More than a dozen chp officers were in the courtroom as the judge set bail for noel corpuz. The officers were there as a sign of solidarity for andre sore revenue ceo. He was attacked with a knife. Corpuz was ordered to return to court tuesday. Attempted murder, assault on a cop, resisting by use of force or threats, grabbing the hollister and the of the other charges as well. We are looking live on wall street right now. The dow jones is down. We had what looked like might be positive numbers as far as the Unemployment Rate went down below 5 , 4. 9 . But analysts really saying its not telling the whole story. There are a lot of people who are working parttime and they are not included in the numbers for various reasons. You can look at the dow jones, down 55 points, about 3 4 of a percent. And the s p 500 is down half after a percent. And the nasdaq is down one full percentage. The federal government does report a slowdown in hiring among u. S. Companies. Employers added 151,000 jobs last month. And that is a sharp decline compared to recent months. While the unemployment numbers were healthy, economists say there was significant drops in education, transportation, and temporary work. One bright spot the Unemployment Rate went from 5 to 4. 9 . Its the lowest level in years and its not in eight years. The founder and leader of earth, wind, and fire has died. But you can tell its just a little lighter than usual. A lot of people who dont have to go to the city will not be going. The traffic is moving well in both directions heading south to 92. Youll see traffic looking good. In the Santa Clara Valley. Traffic is lighter than usual. I think people are aware of the closures and the detours, and they are exercising options to work at home or perhaps getting away for the weekend to avoid all of this. The south bay commute is not bad. Uncharacterly light in the silicon valley. I think that people very smart after all these weeks of us talking about this theyve made plans. You were way ahead of the curve there, sal. And speaking of that area, the forecast for sunday, i couldnt paint it up any better unless you want rain. Sunshine and warm and 70 degrees. The sea lion weighed about 20 pounds and should be 40 to 50 pounds.
