Terrifying moments at the cincinnati zoo where a four yearold fell into the gorilla exhibit. Oh my god. For 10 minutes the 400 pound gorilla dragged the little boy around as the zoo visitors looked on in horror. And they decided to make a heartbreaking decision, to shoot and kill the gorilla, and it was becoming agitated and could easily kill the child. The team did a good job, they made a tough choice, but they made the right choice. They say that little boys life. The zoo Officials Say they had to kill the gorilla because the tranquilizer dart would take too long to kick in. The child was hurt but has been released from the hospital. There have been two shark attacks this weekend, a 13year old boy is recovering after being attacked by a shark in florida. This is cell phone video from the neptune beach, florida. The boy was swimming in 3 feet of water when a 6 foot shark bit into his leg, and the witness said that the boy was hysterical, and his stepdad was trying to calm him down, and the boy is being treated for an 8 inch bike to the leg but is expected to be bite to the leg but is expected to be okay. Here in california, a woman was swimming about 150 yards off shore at the Corona Delmar state beach when something beat her on the upper part of her body and arm. She raised her hand up out of the water and call for help, and at that point, the lifeguard vessel was closed and they went over to rescue our. I was scared and wondering what would happen. The woman was conscious when she was pulled out of the water but had serious injuries, and the lifeguards cleared the water, and it no shark was spotted in the area, but the womans wounds are consistent with the shark attack. Rescue crews in kansas keeping up their search for the missing 11yearold boy that fell into the fastmoving floodwaters on friday night. On the east coast, the tropical depression is causing flooding in South Carolina as parts of the state are hit with up to 8 inches of rain, an up to close part of the interstate 95 in jasper county, South Carolina on sunday. This is all flooded. Reporter a father and daughter had to be rescued after being forced to leave their car on i95, braving the deep waters on foot. Heavy surf and dangerous rip currents are also possible due to this system, and beyond the continued threat in South Carolina, forecasters are warning that the storm could still bring several inches of rain to georgia and North Carolina this week as well. Thousands of motorcycle riders and rumbling through the nations capitol to honor veterans in their annual Rolling Thunder ride that has grown to honor all servicemen and women, and an estimated 500,000 bikers took part this year, starting at the pentagon, making their way down constitution avenue, and then ending at the vietnam Veterans Memorial. The head of the Green Beret Foundation says that its all about awareness. This honors and remembers those that did not come home from every conflict. Developing news out of new york city where hundreds of passengers at the new york Kennedy Airport were left stranded by a power outage. It started yesterday afternoon, affecting the International Travelers in the terminal, british airways, the cathay pacific, and iberia airlines, and the power problem has been fixed. 1200 people were still waiting to be checked in for their overnight flights late last night because the Airline Workers had to hand it right the boarding passes hand write the boarding package and boarding passage and backing tickets. A crash with a pickup truck, the womans car collided with a truck about 5 45 pm and she was the only person in the car, and she was pronounced dead at the scene. The truck driver and passenger had minor injuries. The pickup truck ended up on a stretch of the vta lightrail and the service on the 902 Mountain View winchester line was shut down in a bus was set up to help the stranded passengers. Several people hurt in a crash in San Francisco last night. These photos posted on the San Francisco Fire Department twitter page, and it looks like three cars were involved in the crash on mission after 7 00. The Fire Department said that four people were taken to the hospital, one was critical. Three were treated at the scene and released. Sheriffs deputies were arrested a third suspect in connection with the killing of the student from the Novato High School, and booked into the marin county jail yesterday on a charge of accessory after the fact. Hes being held without bail, two other suspects that are also students at the Novato High School are in custody, and the names of not been released because they are minors. The 17yearold edwin was found stabbed and shot to death last wednesday, and another student was injured that survived the attack. Two teenage boys from oakland are believed to have drowned at a reservoir, and the 215yearolds were at the Woodward Reservoir with Family Friends on a memorial day weekend outing, and they jumped off of the bolt with several people, and when they others when the others came back and the vote, they realized that the two boys were nowhere around. Everybody can swim. They were identified as Jamari Wilson and josiah pratt. At this point theres very little hope that they are still alive, and this is the second drowning incident at the reservoir since it opened for Public Recreation and april. There are many ways to honor those that made the ultimate sacrifice for our country, and we take you to one such place, a less prominent cemetery in the bay area it with a very rich history of service. Reporter it is not very big, nor is it very well known. Many people that i know have never been here and i have lived in benicia for 12 years. When i tell people that have never been here that this is the oldest Military Cemetery in the entire western states, and impresses people. Reporter go there and you will find a rich history in the stories of the people that have made this their final resting place. This is the headquarters for the pacific army in that 1840s and 50s. In 1849, the first soldier was here, for many years it was the home to the u. S. Army arsenal. They left in the 1960s from benicia. The last person buried was in 1958 at the cemetery. It was the wife of a soldier that was stationed here. In total, there are 211 graves, many of the names of the gears have been lost. The army used to paint the names on the crosses when they would bury people, and those names were lost in history. There were eight german prisoners of war that passed away and one italian prisoner of war and incarcerated year during world war ii. Reporter taking care of them all is this woman, kathy. Why do you do this . I love it here. My husband was in the service, and i just really believe in that. Reporter what do you feel when youre working here eight hours a day, taking care of this . Peace . I hope that is what i bring to the guys that are buried here. Reporter watching as others spend time trying to say thank you, and here with the loved ones come to remember a piece of their own history. I had a kernel and his wife that visited their baby that was stationed here. The baby died of crib death, and they come and visit him. There are guards from the prison when it was here and they come here to visit the italian thing germans because they would play cards with them. Reporter and even the germans coming to this Small Cemetery to remember their soldiers. They want to pay honor to these soldiers when they find out they are here. These are young officers, and this is a connection for them in world war ii. Reporter remembering on memorial day as they have done in years past, hundreds will come to listen to the speeches and to watch the ceremony. At the end of the ceremony went taps is played, that is when it hits me. Oh yes, that is why we are here, because a lot of people died for our way of life. Reporter here, tucked in the hillside of this small town, those that know the history and the story, and hoping that they will remember those that have rested here long after the ceremony is over. I feel the sense of history and an appreciation. A lot of these people gave their lives for their country, and that is what we honor on memorial day. I feel of reverence, a feeling of appreciation. There will be a special memorial day vigil held at the crosses of lafayette today at 7 pm, inviting the public together at the crosses across from the lafayette bart station. The event is designed to give people an outlet to express sadness over the ongoing wars in the middle east, and they say art they are working on creating a world where war is unacceptable. A reception in hayward to honor those that have been falling, the tribute is dedicated to the fallen military in the iraq and afghanistan wars, a special memorial Day Celebration featuring two helicopters, and between five and 6000 people are expected to attend the event that begins at 10 am.
