O. J. Simpson could learn whether he will be released from prison in a few hours. The parole hearing begins at 10 am in nevada and you can watch it right here with us on ktvu and we will be live in carson city, nevada, good morning and give us a preview of what we will be seeing. Reporter good morning. We are outside of the Nevada Parole Commission building. As you may imagine, anything to do with o. J. Simpson attracts a lot of attention with the National Press here in carson city because the hearing will take place in this building behind me and you can see the sign for the board of Parole Commissioners and there will be for commissioners meeting at 10 am this morning to talk about whether or not o. J. Simpson will be released from prison. Oj will appear via the video link from lovelock correctional facility which is 90 miles east of reno. We show you pictures as members of the press were gathering yesterday and even a british reporter is here telling you the International Interest in what is going on with o. J. Simpson. We spoke with the sheriff of carson city about what is expected as this parole hearing gets underway. The people in the uk have seen this gathering interest and even the Sports Networks will carry this live. That has people interested in what will happen. It lets people look again at those old stories and back in 1995 and look again at this rise in rise and fall of this icon. They may want to be on site when the decisions are made but for the most part i would expect the population that truly has an interest in the outcome or the proceedings as they go will get their information from the media. Reporter it is interesting that there are four Parole Commissioners meeting at 10 00 this morning and after they hear the testimony from both sides, those in favor of oj being released including oj himself, and those that may be against it. We have not heard anyone will be testifying against his release. After that they will meet for 20 to 30 minutes, come out and take a public vote and we will see the actual vote by the Parole Commissioners. It must be unanimous. If not they will not release him from prison but if they are voting in favor of him being released it will happen no sooner than october 1. Do you know why he will be there by video link as opposed to in person . Reporter i think that is the traditional way they do it due to the logistics of moving the prisoner from lovelock to the carson city were the Parole Commission has the hearing. Since they have the video link, with technology is is it is easier to see and hear them with Security Issues involved as well. It is traditional and it makes it easier for everybody. In that general area, no signs of protesters or that there may be some later today . Reporter i specifically asked the sheriff if he thought there may be people showing up and he said that it is possible that it could happen and he says they are prepared for that if it does happen. He thinks if it does happen that they will not actually be where we are because this is a business complex. It is almost an Industrial Area without anything here. The street is about 100 yards away and we are in this parking area. The protesters would have to be out on the street because authorities will not let them get back into this private property area. If that happens they say they will let them protest. He says they probably will not do that and he thinks theres not that much interest in carson city for that. This is a long way from la and other places where you may get a large crowd. Right. There may be something in los angeles but it will be interesting to watch this play out. Ken wayne live in carson city, nevada as we wait for this, so stay here for complete coverage of the o. J. Simpson parole hearing. You can actually watch the hearing live at 10 00 this morning and see the parole board decision. It will be a busy day.
