East. They got a blizzard going on. Team coverage starts in a few minutes. Just in a few hours, specifically 1 00 this afternoon, the official introduction of the 49ers new head coach and general manager. Were going to cover that News Conference live on ktvu plus and we will be streaming it for you on ktvu. Com. A lot of questions getting set for those two individuals. I wonder what they will say. Although we heard from the head coach yesterday when he was down at the 49ers headquarters. A little optimism from fans who, you know, say well it cant get much worse. Right. These guys are the new guys and we will see what happens. If you had the first question, what would you ask . Who are you going to draft. What are you going to do about the quarterback. What are you going to do about colin. We could go on and on. We could. Im going to get to steve first. I think i did something bad yesterday. You . Ill tell the story later. I will tease it that way. Thats a tease. We have a lot of yellow on the screen. Thats right. Ts right. I would not be surprised if tomorrow it spills over. Just dont be surprised. It is filling up rapidly. With heavy rain moving through. It means a great summer on the lake. I would agree. But it could be causing issues as we go forward. Luke says it is absolutely pouring here in sonoma. Might even call it sheets of rain. I believe it. We will take it. That is really heavy rain coming in right there. The line has formed in the north bay right now. The system has actually lifted a little bit to the north. But dont right there. Also from santa rosa north, there have been reports of really heavy rain, especially towards hillsberg, ukiah. Look at lake county. It is just painted. From santa rosa, petaluma, down to marin county coming down pretty well. Not so much to the east and southwest yet. That line has formed next to the coast. Now it is moving in. It looks like it is heading over towards los altos. There is san jose, gilroy and areas in the east bay. But it will get there late morning and early afternoon. Flash flood watches are out. Flood warnings on the napa river and flood concerns on the russian river. Again, many of these because of the slow nature of the system i think we will have some issues here with some rivers and some of the creeks later on because its just not moving that fast. Dont forget we have gusts to 60 Miles Per Hour. I cannot overemphasize how this will continue to give us the moisture feed. It will equal torrential rain for some. Eventually for everybody. Santa cruz mountains is later. It is on its way. Thank you, steve. Paul chambers is in marin county where he has been talking to people taking precautions against another round of flooding out there. Hey, paul. Hey, paul. Reporter hey, mike. I tell you what, were in san anselmo. If youre familiar with the area, you know it is prone to flooding. Thats exactly why the Business Owners are preparing for such a thing. It becomes a headache after a while because it becomes part of the territory. Businesses are not taking any chances and are preparing by lining the front doors with sand bags. We have our storm doors up. And you you have to tell people to go away. Reporter that was the owner of an olive oil store. They have been here for a year and a half and but in business for more than a hundred years. They have had to put out sand bags seven times this year which reduces the number of people who are able to shop and hurts their bottom line. During the height of the holiday season, they had to shut down completely which cost them a lot of money. Although he its not have an answer on what to do, the owner says for businesses in the area they hope that officials come up with a plan to reduce the flooding to the area and other stores. There are things that they could study, make this a little better. Do something. You know. Dig the dig the creek deeper, wider, whatever. Try something. Reporter now, he says the street hasnt flooded this year but the creek goes to critical stages. There have been crews checking the sewers to make sure that they are properly draining. If you can come back out here live, you can see the tires are in the water. Thats the problem right there with the stores. That water is creeping up quickly. I tell you what, as it comes up and over the curb, thats when it has the potential to go into the stores. And thats why they have the sand bags out here hoping it does not go into the stores but a lot of stores are not able to open because of that reason. They wont be able to make profits so why open the doors. It hasnt flooded yet but there is the potential especially here in san anselmo. Mike. I have been watching the creek level on my phone. Flood stage is 13. Now it is 4 to 5 feet. The last time that you checked the introduce he can in the downtown area, did it seem pretty low. Reporter yeah. It seemed low. It was rushing but not that high. There was an engineering checking the creek also. They have been doing it every hour or so. In about 20, 30 minutes ago, they checked the sewer system to make sure that it is flowing properly. It isnt that high right now. But with the rain continuing, it could happen in no time. Paul chambers live in santa ana he will sell san anselmo. Alex savidge is at the napa river. What is it like out there right now . Good morning, sal. We are seeing the brunt of this storm right now. It is really starting to come down here in the napa valley. A hard pounding rain. And it has been nonstop since we got here about an hour ago. And were just south of st. Helena. One of the big concerns obviously as we have talked about is flooding along the napa river. A Flood Warning in effect today. Right now youre looking at the river. At last check it was at about 7 feet or so. It is expected to rise another 10 feet as we move throughout the day today. And that will put it the forecast says it will put it above the 16foot flood stage at some point later tonight. Especially with all of the moisture this system is bringing with it. Let me show you the other concern. Driving conditions. It is going to be hazardous in this area and across the bay area as the storm sweeps in. This is video that we shot along oakville crossroad. You can see a lot of standing water on the roadways. The roadways are slick. What you will encounter are flooded out roadways. It may be that emergency crews cant get to the spots to put up any sort of warning signs before you get there. So you have to use extra caution when youre driving in a storm like this. Because all of a sudden you could be coming upon some standing water and there may not be a warning. Bring you back out here live. This is the napa river. Again, it is expected to go up another 10 feet throughout the day today. That will put it just above flood stage at some point later tonight. Just a hard driving rain here in the napa valley right now. This storm system certainly has arrived. Send it back to you guys. Thank you, alex. A woman was trapped in her home and took to Facebook Live to call for help. Some of the cars are getting washed away. If someone can call cal train or whoever and send them up to our house. Our house. Thats jennifer rays voice. She took to Facebook Live because she did not have cell phone service. The land line was not working but she had an Internet Connection so she jumped on Facebook Live. It hit on bear creek road. Emergency crews couldnt get to the family so they had to wait it out. This was completely unexpected. This was something that i didnt even know Mother Nature could do. Two homes on the property were damaged. Including the home that belongs to general enters sister. That sister is five months pregnant. Four cars were also damaged. A gofundme has been set up for the family. It stands at 76,000. That is up 2,000 from last night. To the east bay where two men are being hailed as heroes when they jumped into action when a car went into the creek and flipped over and landed on its roof. Two men ran out when they heard screeching tires and a car crashing. The man could hear someone trying to get out. The other man jumped in and used a pick al quada to break the window and pull out the 20 yearold driver. The driver was not seriously hurt. The two rescuers say they did what anyone would have if they were there. Geologists say there are steps to take to protect your home from sliding down a hillside. The first step is hire an engineering geologist to evaluate your property. Plant vegetation on slopes that could slide. And you can install drainage systems on the hills. During the storm, there are warning signs your home may be in danger. Keep an eye out for holes and bare spots on hillsides, tilting trees and new cracks in the ground or foundation. They also say streams that look muddier than unusual or rumbling sounds could also be warning signs. Many marin county schools have canceled class today because of the possibility of more weather problems as the storm continues to move across the region. Hundreds of pages of documents related to the deadly ghost ship warehouse fire. New details about the multiple police visits to the building over the past two years. And it is the tallest building in the bay area and months away from being complete. We will take you to the top of San Franciscos Sales Force Tower. You can check out this cool 360 video. We have the camera up there. You can go to the youtube page. We noticed the building yourself if youre in the east bay, north bay or south bay. This is now the tallest building in the bay area. And as the building nears completion this year, i took a look to see if the Sales Force Tower itself will be embraced as a new symbol of San Francisco. Reporter the story of the San Francisco skyline, unchanged for decadessed. Now it is turning a new page. On that page theres a new look, a new vibe, a new building on the block. The Sales Force Tower. Have you dreamt about this building. When i was 4, yes. Miriam is the person in charge for boston propers. It is powerful. I always liked architecture even as a kid. I was drawing Tall Buildings and highrise towers. No one in my family is into construction or anything like that. I always want today building towers. This is perfect. 30plus years later, here i am. And here we go. To get to the top of 415 mission street, a dark noisy nerve racking ride inside of the shaky hoist. All right. But once on the unfinished rooftop, the 360 degree views brilliant. Just watch your step. There is no wall there. So were very close to the edge. Theres no wall right now. Reporter crews are now working on the tower 24 hours a day. Preparing for a fall opening. As everyone knows, the biggest building west of the mississippi. Reporter with that, theres a lot of pride among the thousands who had a hand in the construction. Its an experience. Ill probably never get to do it again. You know, these buildings dont come along too often on the west coast. Reporter what are you impressed most with in regards to the tower. Just the pace. Youve never seen a building go up this quick. The structure actually went on a pace of two floors per week. It is incredibly. Reporter it is currently 970 feet but will reach 1070 in the wake of earthquake country and blocks from a residential tower that sank 16 inches into the soil. If you are working in a highrise building, this is the building that you want to be in. Theres been talk of sinking in the neighborhood. Uhhuh. No concerns here. Nope. Were going into bedrock. So unless bedrock sinks, theres no way that the building settles or sinks or moves. Reporter as i walked around the top with sky fox overhead, i began to realize the strength of the structure. Physically as well as symbolically. But at the same time, when you look down below, i have to wonder whether or not the people of San Francisco, the people of the bay area are actually going to want to embrace the Sales Force Tower. I dont think it will be embraced the way that we embrace the little neighborhoods. Reporter San Francisco chronicle urban design critic john king is a man who likes to look up. He described it as tasteful, well tailored and refined. But on the flip side my guess is it will never say San Francisco the way that the Transamerica Pyramid does or the way that the tower does or the Ferry Building does. Shouldnt the tallest building in San Francisco do just that . Its tricky. How would it do it . [music] cities evolve and change. I think its just a matter of time when, you know, change has happened. Its not necessarily bad. You should preserve heritage listed buildings, landmark buildings but you shouldnt say no to new development and technology. This is one of the most efficient buildings out there. Reporter 1. 4 million square feet. 61 stories. High ceilings. A vertical campus connected to the new transbase center. Boston property says 64 of the building is leased. The anchor tenant sales force is expected to move in in october. As the lower 30 floors and the top two floors. The sales source tower will be shorter than one World Trade Center in new york but out here on the west coast. Is it powerful for you. Yes, very powerful. And it is here for the next i dont know how many decades. Generations. Generations. This is changing the skyline. So its a great project to have. Nothing similar much the sales force provided a statement about being the anchor tenant. They have a commitment to San Francisco as the citys Largest Technology employer and will serve as a hub for the community as well for employees. The building will be the heart of the Global Headquarters and represents an incredible milestone in sales forces history as we continue to grow at an unprecedented rate. I should say that later this summer, probably in june, theyre actually going to allow the companies who are going to be leasing in there to go in. Because each floor is basically a skeleton. If you want a company to go in, i want this and this so they can start doing that by fall. In october, folks can start moving in. Great news. Youre not afraid of heights. I am. That was scary going up there. You have to walk over the hoist to get to the rooftop. Arent you lucky to be in that spot. Living in the city going to high school in the city, ive never been to the top of trans america. You took pictures of course. I have been to the top of the cornelian roof. A prom dinner spot. Nice. Exciting. There you go. Very exciting. Coming up on mornings on 2 the 9. Reporter one house destroyed, two red tagged. The worry with all of the rain coming down, what is this hillside going to do as it gets more and more and more saturated . Reporter were live in orinda where part of a hillside broke off and has slid down into a home, threatening the home. The family has been displaced. We will have live look at the damage coming up. [music] usic] welcome back, everybody, to the 9. The question of the day is do the political views or comments by ceos or Business Executives affect your buying decisions. What are you seeing out there. Im still looking. Sal, what do you have. Well, im getting what is happening this happens to you. You get youre looking for twitter and im getting weather tweets. Right. Theres flooding in marin. I can pop in with a couple. Let me run through a couple. Matthew tweets. Political thoughts of ceos dont affect me. Still use you knower and starbucks. Kevin says depends on product and company. Send a message to their pocket book. He has dollar signs here. Also chiming in on twitter, this is in regards to the at t tournament going on. Someone was questioning why we didnt recognize matt james who is actually playing. He is a good golfer. He is a giant. He is a good golfer. A monster driver. It would be great to have him win 20 this year. I want to mention that i was looking at twitter and couldnt help but notice there are reports of flooding in marin city and sausalito right there at the bottom there near the parking lot. So if you are going there, be aware of that. All right. Steve paulson, lets get right to you and check the radar. Thats because it is high tide right now. 9 43 to 9 48. I should mention theres been rapid snow melt up in the sierra. It is about 48 degrees in tahoe right now. Howling wind. Youre about 50 degrees at 9 00 in the morning. Youre going to have snow melt issues. Folsom 71 . Theyre letting out a lot of water. Why are you doing that . Because of what is happening right now. Where is it going to go . It has to head towards folsom. Reno was talking about the National Weather service talking about rain. A lot of rain right here. Hillsberg raining steadily and really hard. Thats coming up fast. Russian river and also the napa river. The lake has risen 436 feet from evan again. Up another 1. 2 feet since yesterday. And six feet in the last four days. It is now only four feet below the spill way at the lake. This system has stalled out a little bit. Slowed down. It is now right about i know some areas around hayward are getting hammered with wind and rain. Back over to the peninsula. Over to its been on the san mateo coach and also monteria. Over to the east bay, right there is the line. So just approaching livermore. Hayward, fremont, palo alto, over to highway 84. And then off the san mateo coast. Theres the line moving in along highway 1 and over to skyline. Thats where the most intense rain is. And also you can see right around Half Moon Bay, some of this is really coming down pretty hard here. Monteria and pescadero. Flood issues around the creek. This system has so much moisture in it and it is moving so slow. Truckee is 39. Yet tahoe is 48. Look at reno, 61 degrees. This is a serious problem for the snow melt. I think here in the next 24 hours. Have to keep an eye on this. Not a lot of white there but a lot of green. The colder air will not come in until later. The wind is really picking up. Oakland, 36 Miles Per Hour gusts. 24 mountain view. San jose almost 30. 31sfo. I won be surprised if they get gusts of 50. There is the line forming right there. The system slowed down but it is moving. San jose may be more of a late morning, early afternoon event. We are in it for most of the day. We will see some rain on friday. Nothing compared to today. Then we get a break on the next five days, guys. Steve, when do you think it will get below 32 up in tahoe. On the weekend. Lows down in the 30s by sunday. I have to tell you, though, around the 16th to the 24th looks really wet again. Wow. Wow. What a cycle we have been through. Yes. Mudslide destroyed a home in san rafael on tuesday and continues to provide worries today. Neighbors are concerned, tom, that there may be other homes in danger there today. Reporter theres no question that other homes are in danger. Im going to show you exactly why. The home is down about two houses from here. Look at this hillside. Theres water running down there. The water is saturating into the earth but its also running down. So what you have is a lot of mud running down as well. That is literally not just de facing the mountaining but weakening the mountain there. This is anybodys bet if this will come down or not. Hopefully it will not. When you get this kind of saturation going on and the ground is already weakened, youre in a situation where you have a problem. If we can look off to the left, you will see the house that was destroyed down there. Its also leaking mud as is the house next to it. And that means that this mountain is kind of coming apart. Now, whether or not it is going to go is anybodys guess. This is not a good place for people to be. If it comes down, it could destroy the gray house, which is to the right of it or destroy the other house on the other side of the destroyed house. We just dont know. This is a very serious situation made even worse, much, much worse that the rain is coming down. It is picking up in wind and in terms of the actual flow of mud. One other thing, you will see some trees just over the roof of that gray house there. And those trees used to stand straight up. Theyre leaning hard towards us right now. That means at some point in time they could come down. They have an area roped off where it is likely no one would be hurt. This is no place to come for tourism. Youre not supposed to be up here if you dont have business here. And they mean it. Because this is a situation which is very, very volatile, changing literally by the nanosecond. This is the situation. Not far from here, apparently at interstate 580 where it meets 101 has buckled a bit. Theyre closing the lane there. Marin county getting hit hard. We will be on the story all day long. Reporting live, ktvu fox 2 news. I was going to say when that slide first happened, he said tom, if youre there, answer here. No work being done to shore up the hillside to keep it from sliding . Crews still cant get up there. Reporter no, you cant really shore this up. The reason is its a dynamic sways. It would be dangerous for crews to go in there and try to do anything right now. If it were to come down, they would get shoved up against the house and likely killed. So this is just a situation that you have to wait and see what is going on. But as you can see, that mud is streaming off the mountain side. The more that gets streamed off the mountain side, the weaker the hill gets. What is interesting is the longer and longer the rain lasts, the deeper it soaks into the ground. Now were not only looking at surface slides but looking at shallow slides that are just under the tree line which is pretty much what happened here. And then the other really big problem is what is called the deep slide. And that could be down quite a few yards into the ground. And that can move whole neighborhoods. Its not likely that will happen here. That is something to consider. It has happened up in novato, back in the 90s. It is a fluid situation. Not to put too fine a point on it. Thats the situation here. Tom reporting live in san rafael. Thank you, tom. From san rafael to orinda, we go to another house battered by the storms. Allie rasmus is live at the home to show us the damage there. Allie. Reporter yes. This is a home on van castle in east orinda up in the hills. Look behind us, you can see part of the hillside behind the home broke apart basically. It almost looks like someone took a knife and cut into the side of the cake. All of this debris, mud, rocks slid on tuesday. This happened on tuesday. Into the back of this house. But the concern though today is that you can see the rain is falling. More heavy rain expected. Some of the city public works crews are a bit concerned this mudslide could get worse. Here is a look at the damage up close. Mud and debris crushing in the back wall and shattering windows. The public works inspector says this was a slow moving slide. It happened on tuesday. So the family was able to get out safely. No one was hurt. He estimates about 180,000 cubic feet of rocks and debris broke off and slid down the hill. Its amazing how much rock is in that hill and just how much how much Mother Nature and water can do to devastate a hillside. And speaking of all of that rain that we had on tuesday. This is video from the orinda public works director of a creek below miner road. Thats where they had a sink hole open up a month ago. They have been doing the repairs since then. It is still not open. You can see how overwhelmed the creek got with heavy rain that came in on tuesday. Again, the concern out here at this landslide is that with more rain on the way, things possibly could get worse out here. But, again, the family is not staying in the home anymore. They were told to evacuate on tuesday. No one was hurt. But theyre keeping a close eye on things out here. Thank you, allie. The northeast is getting pounded with snow. It could become the most powerful storm that some areas have seen all winter. Boston and maine could get 18 inches of snow. New york city could get a foot of snow. We have seen him on the Silver Screen in movies such as elf and friday. Starting tomorrow he is performing at tommy ts in pleasanton. Before then faizon love joins us on the set. I like that lean in. The three quarters turn. Right there. Faizon. Shuffle. Yes. You know what i always wonder when i see standup comics is do you have something prepared when someone heckles you . Do you let it get under your skin . Sometimes everybody has phones. Right. The other day someone heckled george lopez. Whatever happened there, everyone was able to see it. Happens when someone heckles you . What do you say . Do you have a plan. I blaze into them. You fire right back. Yeah. Sometimes its fun. With you when they disrupt the whole show. Uhhuh. If you blaze into them, theyre going to go back into their shell. But if it becomes all the whole show, people didnt come here to hear the banter. It gets deep. I go into your mamas and you know. Since everybody has their phones, does that change your approach. No. Im not a pc guy. Im going to say what im going to say. You started standup when you were 14, 15. At what point that takes confidence and you have to be whip smart. Did you grow into that . You couldnt do that at 15, right . Its kind of like its instinct. And you had that when you were a teenager. Thats what tells a good comic. Its there. Its just not sharpened. Uhhuh. You start to develop it. Older comics are looking at you and thinking how do you know that . It is instinct. So you just you build on that. How old were you when you did friday . I was 22. 24. 22, 24. Yeah. Great character. Like when you shot that movie ad libbing there. A lot of ad libbing. Was that one of your favorite movies to be part of. No. We thought that movie sucked. We thought our careers were over. We didnt even have a coo career. Made was one of my favorites. Vince vaughn. I loved doing ice cube was such a gentleman and d. J. Pool with all of the people that we did friday with. People love that movie. Now it is relevant now because the weed, everybody smokes weed. You know. Weed is everywhere. He was even smoking it earlier. You were smoking weed. It wouldnt surprise me, faizon. I want to ask about your flow on stage. Obviously you have things in your head. Do you just go by what strikes you or do you have a routine . How do you handle your show . I have a routine. My comedy is basically me flawed. So i think all of the great ones are bill cosby, richard pryor, they talk about themselves and people can relate to that. Something my father said years ago growing up in cuba. Son, where is the cocaine. You mentioned pryor and you mentioned [laughter] were not editing here. Oh, my goodness. I had to learn to hate eddie murphy. I was a big fan of him.
