This place will be swerving with people and cars because it is coming back to live. When we got here on that early morning, the most horrendous damage that we saw was this east wall of the sanctuary that separated completely from the roof. It was leaning out about 18 inches and the immediate thought in our mind is what if it collapses and fall over so it was a danger of having people walking by it. We were trying to keep people away from it. The week wednesday on, we are able to get parts of the roof and ceiling and all the damage and crack timbers and all the structures that used to hold the building together. I want to point out the stained glass windows in the front. It was completely intact after the earthquake and it was remained intact after you rebuild the church. Yeah, i think it is incredible. They hired a firm from Southern California to come up and paint and removing piece by piece from every single of glass to rebuild and strengthen the frame work around glass and put it back in and put in an entire glass. Reporter you think that saves it . We believe it saved it. The building of the walls would ended up cracking some of those windows had that reenforcement had not been done. A Church Damage in the quake is set to reopen for service in a while. That 99yearold church at fifth and randall street, it suffered significant damage during the august 2014 quake. After the quake hit, we did talk to a Church Member about what it looked like inside. The pipe organ had pipes all over the place and there is damages in the ceiling and it is not a safe place to be inside right now. Well, Napa Methodist Church has come a long way since then. Ktvu channel 2 news fox 2 is live in there this morning, the service is about to get under way an hour and a half there. Reporter yeah, they are practicing and Church Volunteers are decorating and all the members of the congregation is very happy. After 15 months of preparing since the napa earthquake. The feeling actually broke apart and they were telling us and we can see about a year and a half ago, you can see this guy and now everything is perfectly in shape and intact. There is a lot of preparations work done to keep this building. It is looking exactly what it did when it was built. We are thankful of the people in this Community Helping us to reconstruct this church to bring us back the life and the home of this congregation for 163 years.
