A big battle for the giants, mark is here to tell us how they did. He is like, not good. I mean, doesnt matter what the occasion, the giants just arent capable of rising to it. Since the allstar break they are just a completely different team. Like somebody came in, body snatches, took the team that had the best record in the first half, playing nowhere near that level in this division, kind of getting away from them. Not only that you watch the game, something going down in the west. In the western division. Not playing with a lot of passion or spirit. Madison bumgarner brings it but gave up five runs, this one, one swing, by bob saget in, 20 giants down in the second. They play catch up all night. Never did catch up. Down 21 here, buster posey not driving the ball at all this season. Just a soft single, does fetch a run, 22. They are down 32 in the fifth. Brandon belt does sting this one down the rightfield line. Got himself an rbi double and they are tied 33. Like i say they were never able to pass and catch the dodgers. Bottom of the fifth, adrian gonzalez, eight rbis yesterday, three more rbis today, didnt hit this one anywhere close to a home run but softly to center over the grill the glove of brandon crawford, that made it 53, they tack on from there. 95 is your final, dodgers go up five by two full games in the western division. Remember when they trailed by eight . Talk about the as a little bit, once or twice a week they are capable of bringing their game to a bigtime level and always getting ripped for the trades they make. How about giving them a little kudos every now and then for things that went well . They picked this guy up, crash davis in the half in the off season, a trade that worked in the as favor. Threerun muscle shot to right center. 33 homers, 82 rbis and then 40 in the third, chad pender, first big league rbi. Base hit fetches a run and then another guy they picked up in the ben zobrist deal, sean manaea. Seven innings, three hits, one run. Bigtime help from jake smolinski. Have another look at it. The as role 91. Coming up on a bigtime football weekend in the bay area, friday night the packers come to town even if it is preseason they will bring up a large contingent from green bay as they work out and get ready for the 49ers who would like to carry over a little momentum from their victory up in denver this past weekend. The fans may get the first look at the preseason of that man, Aaron Rodgers returning to the bay area. Has not played in any of these first two preseason games for the packers. He is a little you might call, itching to get in there and play a series or two. Feel the tempo out there, if we get some stuff in the no huddle. Its a little different tempo when im in there obviously. Ive been in this offense for a long time. Ill set the tempo with my own pace and push the guys and that will help but we do it in practice. The tempo we practice at is so high. Thats where we get our conditioning in. Hard to believe 12th year in the nfl. The member when he came out of cal and the 49ers didnt draft him . Another story for another day. Meantime, a little break in the tedium of preseason football activity for the raiders. As they had a little social activity today. This is their tight end, Colton Underwood who made some news today, as he put out a video asking olympic gymnast aly raisman who won gold and two silvers down in rio for a date. Evidently thats working out pretty well but as you can imagine in between practices and everything theyre giving him all he wants. Ripping him a little bit. Teammates and such. Before the game. Before practice. Here is a listen. During Training Camp i watched the olympics and she did a great job. Of representing the usa. So i felt like it was only right for me to send a congratulations and you know, extend an offer when she got back to the u. S. And had some down time. Im happy, coach said, im happy for him that she said yes. You know . Thats a lonely feeling being out there on a limb. All right. Aly raisman won the gold, 52, shell be in san jose for an exhibition. Check this out, see some nice activity from the outfielders in the big leagues going right to left, seventh inning, Carlos Correa getting robbed by matt joyce laying out beautifully for the pirates, playing better ball of late. The rangers and reds go at it interleague play, dan straily working the mound, got a shut out, Carlos Beltran to the gap, Billy Hamilton covering some ground out there. One of the fastest players in the major leagues, thats a beautiful catch, straily cant believe it. Here might be the play of the game, stephen piscotty, stanford man deep off josh smoker, that is Yoenis Cespedes with a beautiful catch. Getting up and over, that is the sporting life.
