Good morning everybody and welcome to the party line the old books were here for the duration on a Tuesday and what a beautiful morning it is shaping up out there 54.5 degrees currently at our studios and we're headed to scuse me a high of about 66 I believe let me check that to be sure we don't give you any bum information here this morning 64 Sorry about that 64 today 67 tomorrow though and 66 on Thursday and then we cool off on Friday down to 45 but boy this weather is pretty good and one. In about 10 minutes we will get a call from Darren Jacobs up in Castro Missouri that let's Jacob's forward so I'm sitting on the edge of my seat waiting for Darrow Tara. Oh my goodness. I want to say 1st off this morning we send our sincere sympathy out to our congressman and his wife I was talking with Steve this morning and his wife's sister has passed away she or name was Linda and Linda for those that know about the family that they will know that she was a kind of a sheltered person all of her life her dad was h. D. Williams and Deni her mother they lived and De Witt and these were great people salt of the earth people and. The cherry of course is Steve's wife but h.-d. Passed away some time back and then Deni I believe Steve told me in 2013 and this lady she was a sweetheart of a girl and she lived with the family until sometime back they had to let her go into an assisted living place and she passed away believe it was either yesterday. Steve told me that the funeral will be a guest the burial will be in the Witte Arkansas where the the the Williams Is grew up and live there and so I know that many of you out there are recognize that these kind of situations in a family or are obstacles they are hard to. Fathom and are best to Steve and particularly to Terry. Having said that we're out about our business here this morning I'll talk a little bit more about some of the congressman's activities let's go to the phone though and get started here this morning this is the party line Good morning well curlicue. I wanted to just ask you know you've got a busy program but it would consider looking into what you were talking about a couple weeks ago about the road kill who's responsible picking up all these days you know Paul Hamill animals that. We are chilling and just left out for the crows to pick up. So I want to see if you can in on that today I think a preprogram are thank you well I brought that up some time ago and and frankly the reason I did was that in traveling the dic travel highway there was a deer that had been hit and killed and that carcass remained on the roadway there for several days now I don't know if this had anything to do with it or not but I mention that that morning and that afternoon it was gone so the question that I had posed at the time and frankly I was posing this for information is whose responsibility is it to deal with this I think we all agree that if a deer or a dog or a animal of any type gets hit on the roadway and you've got the carcass laying there in the middle of the road that this is. Unsightly it's on sanitary and there ought to be some entity responsible for the removal of that animal and discarding that carcass and and what I said was Is it the responsibility of the animal control officer in whose city limits the death occurred of that animal. Or is it the highway department they in many cases maintain the highways is it their responsibility. But but as I said. And I don't say this in a sarcastic way that when a deer carcass or some other carcass lays on the roadway and you have vultures coming in Buzzards coming in and then trying to dodge traffic or you've got wild animals coming in. Particularly. At night as this can happen then then you've got a situation now I personally believe that that there ought to be a definitive responsibility placed on somebody to do this and it it needs to be worked out I think with the highway department and the. And the jurisdictions of the of the cities in whose these highways are now in some cases a state highway it goes through the city and the city is not responsible for the maintenance of that road now whether or not they would include road kill as part of that responsibility I don't know but I would be interested in what you folks out there have to say you certainly are as knowledgeable or more so than the colonel is in in in these particular subjects I just happen to believe that something in a civilized society like Northwest Arkansas that you shouldn't expect the problem to be solved by a buzzards coming in and picking the bones of what is left there on their own the roadway that there needs to be some sort of way and here's here's what I I think ought to happen is that whoever is responsible there ought to be a way for the general public to call that particular department in and report there's a dead animal on the road in a certain certain location and that should be sufficient and then within a short order the the animal is is picked up and discarded properly in a in a cemetery way now is that extreme or is that just common sense. Let's go to the local line again this is party line Good morning. This animal welfare is. A lot of that animals. Get lol and. Sometimes look at the animals and animals they are quick. And Ok well that's interesting that you say that who is responsible let's say that a deer that is not a path of anybody's let's say a deer is hit out on the road and you say that they can take care of that and checked for disease etc What's the procedure. They have been righted well hey I'm not I'm not talking about whether or not they are. Burned or whatever I'm I'm talking about what is the procedure for that for the motorist who sees this animal dead to who does he call to get the chain of reaction going to solve the problem I would think given that animal welfare or. Animal welfare office that can you be more specific what who's the Animal Welfare Office I really I couldn't say they're. All right Ok well I'll tell you what we're getting we're spinning our wheels with your suggestion is what we're doing I'm not putting you down sir I'm just saying that. This is not very clear hutch or what you're saying animal welfare office and I dare say that if I ask this morning the public to tell me what the animal welfare office is. What are you going to say are you going to say well we're talking about the code enforcement people within the city and what's the deal say I don't believe that that there is a entity designated as the animal welfare office not could be totally wrong you know I've been totally wrong many times during my lifetime but. What I'm saying is what is the process when some motorist going down ticket travel highway sees a dead deer in the roadway What's the procedure you know. That's all I'm saying. This is the party line Good morning good morning you know on that Manimal What's the matter with the Fish and Game Commission. They want all your money you know by law is a bad time you know so you can only then most Why what's the matter with them and the small one and I'll wind up went down to tony town from Missouri way and that one 3rd up budget that their own 49 their own I guess you know season opened up less rarity in McDonald's. But there there's they're laying all over that all right I've got a well it's not appreciate your contribution and this is a problem it's just not a trivial trivial matter and this caller verifies that when he says he sees a number of dead animals and what is happening here I guess with the deer season is in their habitats they're being shall we say scooped out of there and that makes them more vulnerable particularly with a lot of traffic on these on these roadways but again I would dare say that if I say this morning that The Game and Fish Commission should be designated as the responsible and the somebody some game warden is going to say Colonel I hope you don't go out hunting because we're after you see a strand of the call this is party line good morning in Springdale the animal control then animals on the streets and. It's the highway department that will pick them up. Most generally Ok. Ok I think what I'm saying that that makes sense it makes sense that in the city limits on a street that the city is responsible for the maintenance of that street that the animal control people would would be the logical choice there the code I guess the code people in the animal control authority. And the sheriff's department has animal control and animal control officer and maybe that's the maybe that's the responsibility that ought to be placed Let's go to the phone here and I believe we're going to talk cars here this morning as we go to cast film series and Aaron Jacobs is on the line there and good morning Colonel how are you this morning though and well and we're always excited to get a chance to talk with you and find out about some of the values there at your place where we're going to start it we're going to mention it it's probably going to get worn out but it's time for your inquiry it's kind of all right good. $21940.00 scapes been on my for courtesy transportation program which enhanced the discounts I've got a savings of over $7600.00 on a new 19 escape when I'm bragging about today's black with a chuckle black interior an Eco Boost engine and. Hitch in our Get a good along here with with that fire so a good to see them getting back into operation and speaking of animals I was kind of amused by this story out of Kansas Sedwick County Kansas Tim Myers a sheriff's lieutenant said a wandering camel Cal and donkey have been returned to a wildlife park owner after Goddard police posted on social media that if they couldn't find the owners then they would be halfway toward a live live in the tippity this Christmas season. Christine Bleakley 40 rim remember her she is the psychology professor at Palo Alto University in California who accused the u.s. An unfortunate misunderstanding Hey let's get it let's get these phones open here this morning 636797980767787 and I mentioned ours are a congressman here a few months ago and one thing that was pretty neat he was telling me this morning that the adjutant general of Arkansas that's General pin he's our a.g. For the state. He had some business in Washington d.c. So Steve. Calls the secretary of the army and they will have a little meeting and he wanted to introduce General pinned to the secretary of the army and. The guy said hey bring him over in and we'll have breakfast so they want to or I guess this was yesterday and I had breakfast and then they met up with the 4 star the guy that is the chief of the National Guard Bureau so they had a really nice meeting and I'm sure that General pin will go back to camp Robinson and he will say you want that congressman got me in with some some key influential people as far as the National Guard is concerned so it's good to see that kind of liaison there in our in our military for sure let's get going here 636-7979 we'll get you in locally 807677979 is our national watch line we're on the Internet with an am stream an f.m. Stream you folks who are listening on the Internet now please understand when you call listen carefully to your phone because what you say on the phone will will not be heard on your computer for about 25 seconds and that is very confusing for a lot of people so listen to the phone once we answer on the local line this is party line good morning the Oregon Yes Or I'd like to start off today with a comment or 2 about impeachment here. First off the. News that I'm seeing. Nobody in those countries seems to care about this one way and yes I mean nobody's watching. Very few are watching and I think there's a. 1000000 people overall in the United States and higher so a little clip where a.b.c. . Got more complaints on their own line. I got more complaints about canceling General Hospital to show the hearings I got more complaints for that then they got viewers that actually watched it and and what's bothersome about that to me is is what is happening to America. And maybe this goes back to. To the caller I think it was last week that said we're witnessing the end of democracy maybe we're witnessing. The new democracy and I think we'll always be a democracy maybe were witnessing a big change in it but. People are not being concerned about this I think one of the reasons is is since the Internet the American people and been able to really learn want to know information about how our government works and and the truth is that since my team $5951.00 somewhere in there the United States foreign policy has always been to. Other countries to get our influence in airing our desires whatever they are. Put forth in those countries we've always done it by one of 2 way we offered them money we brought them or else we just Mom the crap out of them until they did and and so what did. I guess if he really did run this guy or whatever you want to call it he was he was just using foreign policy why it's always been used The problem is that it's been brought out right in front of the public but. The results of this to me it is it is going they're going to impeach and I have no doubt about that they were going to do that before they ever started. But the one thing about this impeachment to me is the fact that it's going to set a precedent and it's going to be commonplace now for each party to just impeach the president ever time they do something they don't like and and then. Giving Congress' power over the elections. And Congress decides that elections don't matter then in the end in our democracy is really really had to read and and that's that's what I see in the importance of this it's not whether or not he did something if a Democrat Kundan next year he'll be impeached and it's a Republican comes in after him he'll be impeached and they just they've just lowered the bar for what it takes to impeach him where elections won't matter it'll be whatever President Congress decides to impeach. And that's the real threat involved yes but but yet it too did the country to just ignore it isn't that concerning doesn't. Thank you wonder what's happened to our society Well I mean I think that's that's something to consider I don't believe that the country is ignoring it as far as that goes and we've got lots of people out here who've our various reasons they are oriented on a certain type of program and therefore they complain. If I step stand out here on the New Hope and hand out $5.00 bills for a week there's going to be complaints when I stop handing those out you know it's people are hard to figure but I disagree with what you say that is not the way that we have always run our foreign policy the big difference sir is that any pressure that we have put on a foreign country to add here to some of the shall we say principles that we have in this country such as human rights or whatever. The pressure has been in the national interest it has not been pressure brought to bear for personal political reasons that's the big difference here and I don't believe that we're going to get into a situation where the next president will be impeached because his opposing party doesn't like him I think what we're going to see out of this is that the lesson will be dangled out there the the idea will be one build out there in front of both parties that you better clean things up and you better act in a normal ethical way art or you're going to run the risk of being impeached It's just that simple but I believe that this will be a shall we say a warning shot over the bow to both parties that you better not be doing these kind of things it's just that simple Now in talking with my son he is very supportive of the administration certainly a lot more so than than the old man I'll put it that way because I think that this is this is wrong what happened it's wrong and I think that that what's going to happen is the guy will be impeached by the House he will be exonerated by the Senate because you've got a majority of Republicans in the in the Senate and these guys are going to they're going to figure out rationalises rationalizations and and figure out excuses for why this happened but I think the overall message to the American people is do you want this kind of stuff for another 4 years or do you want something different and that's of this issue that only the voters can can come up with and I think that they'll have to consider that it may be that that the decision will be more people saying well we can put up with this a lot better than we can put up with it and that remains to be seen I'll be right back. Good morning Colonel Yes. Yesterday you said that you recently got. A c. D. And a cornerstone bank and you've got maybe in the neighborhood of 2.5 And could you say recall how recently and where is that cornerstone bank located Ok there we have it too there are there in southwest City Missouri and they are located they've got branches in Tift city Lanigan and pine ville. That was about a month or so ago and and it was a renewal of a account I had there and up and they were very generous with me I'm not sure that the rate is going to be the same anymore as for that goes because later on I had another significant amount there at another bank and I got 1.9 percent there and I believe that if that's about the going rate these days 1.9 or 2 percent but you might check with cornerstone to see what they would say I don't want to put them on the spot and divulge. Information from them that would cause them to shall we say be ill of these there but that's I don't have any secrets and that's the way it worked out you're seeing. Let's go to another call this is the party line Good morning. Courtney term Yes I think a lot of people I think you included you think that Donald Trump is like a bacteria or a virus you think he is he is the he is an infection and that we need to cure America by getting rid of Donald Trump when in reality America is. Where the crime where the nation were ill and Donald Trump is nothing more than the fever I mean Donald Trump is part of this country's attempt. To make an actual and real change in America now I'm not going to take you going to get that accomplished I'm not actually convinced the as. Well give an example why I say that for the trumpeters out there Donald Trump has people working and I think a couple of 100 testified last week that he's never even talked with and unfortunately I do not believe you can drain the swamp if you haven't talked to a lot of these people Donald Trump should have been at the day one doing her interviews with the Swat creatures that are there these so-called nonpartisan on biased civil employees that have been working in the government for 30 years or 30 years the government has been gone into a certain direction America's been slowly crumbling and they didn't do anything and then truck shows up and outs and they're heroes no that's not right from should have been talking with these people and firing them I mean he he likes to fire people he should have fired a lot of these people and went out into the general public and found people that love America actually love America not or they're worried about making their fortune and cure their pension is pure and you know like worried about their image and actually love America and that would have been what he needed to do but again let's go back to you know point Donald Trump is not the problem with America you can you can get rid of Donald Trump one get rid of him Ito you think that maybe that after he's gone all everything will be great again all is not going to be great again it's going to be just as bad because nothing will happen because you cannot fix the fact that you're flying killing babies in the war and I want I'm not there's no middle ground there and there's no middle ground there there's no middle ground for the Democrat Party which is moving in the direction of l.t.v. Think you are a plus and forcing it on to little kids there is no middle ground between me and them and it's an absolute war and right now it's the war of words and ideas. The day that the words and ideas are done it will not be a word it will not be a war of words any more and that's what's going to happen now again we go back to saying your little vision sounds done blah blah blah we all learn a lesson and everybody lives happily ever after you can believe that maybe that's true maybe that will be you know but you also thought that well if we get enough people elected the Republicans are going to do something about that right that same exact same exact. Current theory right there well do something about it don't get the White House and the Senate and the House representatives not not going to happen because it's all a big lie I think. To the congressman and he is my congressman that's why I pick on him your son I mean that's not my problem he's the congressman but I have in my area Mr Congressman do you believe there is an America a deep state that I don't think I've ever heard you actually say there's a do you think there's a Seattle government is that a real thing does it exist and if it if it does and you're on you know you generally like what trying to say why don't we ever hear that from you companies that are thinking well I don't know how you respond to. This godly group you know is basically is what is what you're hearing 1st of all I'm not here to say that we ought to even get rid of Donald Trump I'm never said that I never said that I criticize the guy for what he does and what how he doesn't criticize that and that's my prerogative that's it's only my personal opinion probably nobody else out there agrees with me but I just I just call a spade a spade Now as far as what you said about that I have him in favor of of killing babies in an abortion I am not in favor of that I think it's a horrible situation but I've also said that there's a world of people out here that. Will come down adamantly against this but at the same time willing to do nothing to help solve the problem and I've been trying before being proactive with adoptions with providing assistance to girls that that become. Effect shall we say pregnant with an unwanted pregnancy and there's there are just lots of things that we could do to help alleviate the situation but there's a lot of people out here that they wave the flag anti abortion but at the same time they're not willing to do anything to try to help these people who are in that particular condition now what I said to you sir is that you accuse me of being a guy that wants to tell you what you've got to do. I've never been never done that at all I just say that we have a set of rules in this country can concerning the funding of our government the funding of services like police and fire the funding of schools and I've just said that that's the system that we have and yet you want to live in this country enjoy the benefits of this country but you don't want to participate in helping pay for those things and that's that's all I'm saying and you accused me of telling you what you've got to do when I'm all I'm saying is you can do whatever you want to do but I'm just saying that that's the way that we fund the schools and you're wanting to be an exception but at the same time you want to accuse me of telling you what you've got to do you also are guilty of coming out adamantly against abortion which means that you are saying to yourself that you got the right to tell someone who becomes pregnant what she's got to do with her body so I'm just saying that you're hypocritical when you when you cues be of warning to tell you what you've got to do and your butt but you're willing to tell someone what she's got to do with her body that's all I'm saying it's an unfortunate truth. That if you're a if you're one of these people who says you ought to put women in prison that that have an abortion it's a crime against humanity or whatever and it is unfortunate to bad situation but at the same time if you're going to control it in that way you you obviously are setting yourself up as somebody who can dictate to somebody else what they've got to do with their body and that's a that's a problem I'm going to be right by. What we have you can't find with a search engine Max won't navigate you there but it makes a big difference when you find it isn't expensive or complicated it's a simple timeless values like honesty and humility they've helped us support our customers and communities for more than a century and it's those values that guide us today as we seek new ways to serve you that tradition for today that's interesting back apples apples to apples fresh picked from Van Zandt's own orchards Fred says they've got a great crop of apples this year Red Delicious golden delicious wine sap John a gold blushing gold Garland that's gala and they've got food and Jonathan's great for cooking baking or eating for a snack. Good morning yes save room there we have. This gentleman from gentry like you are down my throat on your show I hear him all the time complaining Well he's got a right to safely launched a freedom of speech and all that priming and freedom of speech but the thing in the bottom line is he wants to comply and he needs to do something that he needs to go out there and try to start off some of these problems that are just complain and complain and complain and I have a lot of things that I do not like with this country. But that doesn't mean that I'm gonna tear him down and act like a crazy guy 6 I'll just start blaming this person or that person bottom line is we all got to get live together because if we don't live together in this country we're going to go down the tubes pretty quickly than we know it and with the technology that's out there nowadays is pretty frightening you see what can happen when. These hackers getting into our private. You know bank accounts and all that and they get money out of bank accounts they they know all about us and all that that's pretty frightening Now one thing this guy he don't understand is that a. Crisis like the Russians or Chinese These guys are ready for I mean any 2nd they can turn a button on and we're going to be and we're going to be in the dark and they can they can get degraded and all that and so but it's got to be talk and the way he does it and it just goes to show how he's not very well. Don't have it all upstairs as my own hand and like I said it takes everybody. That we don't like some of the rules we can change him but we also got to sit down and we might not like everything but we have to feel. Part. In a whole lot of things because. I'm a tax write but at the same time I have to pay because we have been.
