A new poll released earlier in the day has clinton up by 1 point in pennsylvania. Donald trump is closing the gap here putting pennsylvania in play more than usual. Were a swing state so we need everyone to go out to the polls. I cant tell you who to vote for, but the importance of this first debate is going to set the tone and engagement for future debates. Tonight i think the big difference we saw in this debate was donald trump actually appearing president ial in some moments. And people havent been expecting that. I talked to a lot of republicans in preparation for the debate and they were a little anxious how he might come off. I think people who were already clinton supporters while did fine tonight she came off on polished candidate. Donald trump handled himself pretty well than what people expected. Lets go to jonathan, same question. I just want to make mention that i was born at temple hospital, the old temple hospital. Just in case anyone is questioning my citizenship. You know, i think that secretary clinton was professional, she was organized, she presented a vision for america that i think was very president ial. The bar is so low for trump that if he shows up and doesnt attack someone in a visceral way that people may say that he actually did a good job. I think he was disjointed. I am amazed that a cpa and a lawyer and somebody that was the controller of this great city, that doesnt know valueadded tax and normal taxation and most of his statements were not consistent with what i would hope a president would be about or certainly a president ial candidate would be about. Reporter all right jonathan i also want to ask you, secretary clinton has issues with her trus worthiness. Do you think she did anything to overcome that tonight . I think she showed she has the wherewithal to be present of the under. She has the understanding of the issues, she understands foreign policy, she understands domestic policy. She doesnt come here out of the blue. She comes with the credibility of being the first lady, a United States senator from a populated state, new york state and being secretary of state one of the most powerful positions in the United States and in the world. I think she has proven herself that when you look in comparison to donald trump, who, my god, is the republican nominee, think that if the choice is between the two, you have to vote for Hillary Clinton. Reporter all right. And quickly to allison, trump a lot of people question his temp ra meant was he able to overcome that . He actually presented some facts and figures. The thing thats interesting about his tepera meant is Hillary Clinton is the epitome of the status quo. Shes repeating the same lines that politicians say year after year. That was a point trump hit home and i think scored a lot of points with viewers tonight. Ill be anxious to see some of the polls particularly here in pennsylvania coming out of this. In other news, were learning more tonight about how two firefighters were killed in the line of duty over the weekend. A collapsed floor led to the death of two firefighters. Earlier today fellow firefighters came to medical Examiners Office to show their respect for their fallen brothers as they were transported to their respective funeral homes. My firefighters in the city of wilmington right now are hurting and we want to thank all of the surrounding volunteer Fire Companies who helped us. Its been rough. Two other wilmington firefighters were also injured during saturdays fire. They are still being treated at a burn center listed in critical but stable condition. Tonight no arrests have been made in the deadly shooting of a south jersey homeowner. It happened just before 10 00 last night. Authorities say two masked suspects shot a 37yearold man inside his home. He died a short time later at the hospital. Police say a second person in the home was not hurt. Its unclear what motivated the violence. New tonight sunocos pipeline project gets the green light to move forward in middle town township delaware county. Council unanimously approved an ordinance that will alaw sunoco to build and operate two natural gas lines. Some residents opposed to the project are concerned a leak in the proposed pipeline could put their families and homes in danger. The 3 billion project would carry natural gas liquids through delaware, chester and 15 other pennsylvania counties to a processing facility in marcus hook. Theyre misspelling her name online on twitter and also from what i understand on the official debate ticket. A lot of people how are talking about how Hofstra University misspelled her name. We are seeing scattered showers over portions of south jersey. And seeing some steadier showers back off to the north and west and headed quickly for mount pocono. This is all part of a larger system thats going to be impacting us for days and days even once the front sweeps out, you can see the front right here. The actual low is back over the great lakes and that is going to impact us into the weekend. The heavier showers that you see off to the west right now, those will be tracking through the city probably around 3 00, 4 00 a. M. Dont be shocked if you wake up hearing thunder or lightning. 6 00 a. M. Were dealing with showers but by 8 00 or 9 00 those showers move offshore and by lunchtime well see clouds giving way to a sunny and bright afternoon. The clouds may stick around down the shore for much of the day but it should turn out nice in the afternoon. The upper low meanders through the area right knew the week and into the weekend. Its cut off because it has no where to go and its going no where fast keeping the rain as a threat in the forecast. The chance drops off tomorrow but wednesday night into thursday morning another risk for showers and that will continue into friday and saturday. We do need the rain, we are 4. 65 inches below average since january 1st. With the clouds, temperatures are mild right now. Were right around 70 degrees but the showers are moving in quickly.
