The streets of Temple Universitys campus were quite for the most part tuesday night as students remained on high alert after learning one of their own was sexually assaulted and robbed near these dumpsters on carlisle street. The body washed up at the 57th street beach in ocean city. Authorities say there are no signs of trauma. She was wearing a purple shirt and blue jeans and appears to be between thrive and 50 years of age. A toy gun scare forced authorities to temporarily walk down Chester High School in Delaware County today. Investigators say a student saw classmate remove a begun from his waistband and place it in backpack around 10 30 this morning. School officials then called police. And locked down the building. Reporter while the governor says pipelines are necessary, he says, this should be decided locally. Pennsylvania needs to have a Distribution Network and the only way the best way to do that is through pipelines. Reporter representatives from Sunoco Logistics were not in attendance due to the pending lawsuit. But in a statement tell Eyewitness News Sunoco Logistics is committed to open dialogue with landowners and other stake holders on issues that are important to them regarding the mariner east projects. To date, we have hosted 20 open houses across the state, including at least one in each county we passed through and two in Chester County. We had break through the day but now its moving right through the philadelphia area in fact im taking out all mentions of minor cast of heaviest to the north and west. This is widely separated throughout the and tyre john so general one to 3inches during the overnight hours if youre in allentown all the way down toward the shore. The immediate shore points make it less but expect one to 3inches and thats reflected here on future rain amounts. An inch or so in philadelphia could get more in reading maybe 2inches in trenton depending on where those heaviest cells set up and thats just for tonight. Now lets talk about Tropical Storm joaquin. It is stale Tropical Storm. Its now a very strong Tropical Storm with sustained winds at 70 gusts to 85 and notice that slow mommy crawling toward the bahamas it will hit very warm owing water and that will help it strengthen now the National Hurricane center just released this track expecting to become a hurricane by tomorrow morning. Category one and then watch this brief strengthening into a category two hurricane. It may die down to cat one notice the track nudged a little further to the west and start to notice this little curve that it started that pick up in the very last frame in the cone of uncertainty again surrounding that want to show you why theyve adjusted that track further to the west weve been seeing a trend in our ensemble models the spaghetti plots they look like spaghetti. A lot less delicious. You can see on sunday notice the general trend is to curve this storm a little bit back to the west. The reason for that that sharp trough over the eastern United States and a blocking high off to the north and east and thats going to pull that storm in capture it and could turn it into a hybrid storm more of a less of a Tropical Storm and more of a noreaster type. That really doesnt matter. It doesnt really matter what the storm is. What matters is the track and how much rain well see. You can see initial modeling showing that we can see as much as seven or 8inches of rain in spots by sunday night. Look at washington, d. C. On this particular model. 9inches of rain. Thats with rain out ahead of the storm see a band of tropical moisture thursday night into friday in spots but the heaviest impacts from this system will be saturday into sunday. Of course, theres eagles redskins game sunday afternoon well have to watch that very closely. Inland impacts remain the same as weve been talking about all week. Heavy rain and the risk for flooding gusty winds an issue and coastal impacts more pronounced if that storm does make a landfall along the east coast beach erosion rough surf and coastal flooding this evolving situation. We will continue to monitor it and well keep you posted but expect very heavy rain tonight, tomorrow we dry it out and in the afternoon actually not too bad we may even see a few breaks of sun tomorrow afternoon.
