Also ahead the stage is set for musics biggest night we will look at the last minute preparations for this years grammy award. Exciting weekend. Stay with us. Back on Eyewitness News this is just a nasty wreck on the new york interstate. Take a look here nearly 40 vehicles chug tractor trailers were involve during a snowstorm in what the are town. The Authorities Say near white out conditions played a role in that crash. School buses were brought into remove strandedded drivers and passengers. Fortunately no one was seriously hurt. That is not a good scene there, carol but were looking better back at home. Yes. Just one of the many reasons that winter is not my favorite season. We are looking at a day that looks like it will be a little milder. We will get above freezing mark which will feel great and youll see some sun, some clouds but probably more in the way of varying levels of clouds today. It doesnt look bad right now. Ben franklin bridge looking lovely. We have temperatures cold below freezing mark in every single location this morning but they wont be staying there we should be finding these temperatures getting in the 40s which will look practically tropical. Twentysix in philadelphia. Twentythree in trenton. Twentyfour in wilmington. Nineteen in the poconos. We have 21 degrees in wildwood. Not that much in the way of the whipped chill. It knocks temperatures down a couple degrees but that is essentially it. It is because it is the weekend and last monday with groundhog day it seems like every weekend should be groundhog day because we are waiting for weather system to come in here for the second half of the weekend. Now this one as it stand right now obviously subject to change early monday morning some rain showers we should be arriving around here and then on monday some rain, freezing rain and some sleet possible. And by men it could end as cold air comes in here as a brief bit of snow. Depending where you are and how far to the north you will than seeing more or less of the wintry weather conditions. More, of course, to the north with these temperatures colder. But a front just kind of stalls here. One of the reasons where it is warm and it will be in the 40s and close to 50 degrees tomorrow. The just because the front is still, north of us and the warmer air from the southwest is coming in here but then low pressure starts to ride along that front and as it does so we will see light rain with that mix to the north and maybe some snow even to the north of that. Our future weather, thinks the name computer we are all into these computer models now. We might as well all get familiar with them. This one says we will see rain well to the west even by 7 00 oclock in the morning on monday with some of the icing concerns through the poconos at that point. By the time 4 00 oclock on monday, again, p. M. Hits, there could be snow through the the poconos and then this thing get out of here by tuesday. So the snow amounts will be unimpressive in our area if we see any and this computer model says an inch. Do we see an inch maybe. Maybe slightly more to the north. Then in the poconos where that winter storm watch goes into effect sunday evening and through monday night, maybe four to 6 inches of snow and sleet. Again, that is in the poconos. Look at the computer models for our snowfall amounts for this one, for the philadelphia area. Nothing. Euro. 7 inches. 7 of an inch. Not even an inch of snow and r p. M. Says maybe a, tenth of an inch of snow. Icing might be another issue. Just watch for that throughout the Early Morning hours on monday. Here, and areas to the north. So that is going to be something we will continue to monitor. This is another computer model. This is rpm that says everything is fine here this weekend and then we will bring in chances on monday of maybe a little bit of that icing and some of that snow to the north. So just something to continue to monitor. This storm has not the yet decided what it will do yet so it is a little too early to call it but it looks like it will be mild enough that most of the time it is rain around here. Fortyfour today. Not all that bad. Tonight, 32 degrees. Mostly cloudy skies. Tomorrow most of the day should be fine. 48 degrees. We have somalia rain showers coming late at night. On monday watch for rain and maybe freezing rain and maybe end up with some snow on monday and then it is just around 40 degrees for a couple of days after that. Nicole. Carol thank you. Um making me cold looking at them. Carol, good morning. How is that forecast. I prefer sand sculptures. I know. Tiny string bikinis, as compared to, yeah, ben franklin bridge looks fine this morning. Weve got temperatures that are warming up. We will above freezing a mark this afternoon. It will feel better then it has over the last couple of days. It is still below freezing this morning at 26 degrees in philadelphia, 23 in trenton. 24 degrees in wilmington. We are on our way up. Our high this afternoon will be reaching past 30s and into the the 40s in a lot of sports. Storm scan three some clouds are coming down. We will find a few of those around, of varying levels, mid and high clouds and they will change different rates, even so youll be seeing brightness that i think will satisfaction you. Temperature wise today in philadelphia, we will get to about 43 degrees. How nice is that. At the the shore right about that level and in the poconos, 35 degrees with some cloudy skies and a chance of a isolated snow shower in the poconos. Now, we are watching another weather system of course, coming in here late sunday, monday naturally, so it is the weekend so we have to be watching Something Like this. But as it stand right the now for us in philadelphia, early monday morning, we could be finding some rain showers, arriving, and know that there could be some freezing rain, a and sleet, were not looking at huge accumulations but it doesnt take huge accumulations to create a problem. The it could be tricky on part of the commute on monday. Monday evening it might even as a snow shower a as that colder a air starts to come in. The front will stall to the north of us and it is one of the reasons that were allowed to warm up in the 40s today with that front to the north, wind coming up from the southwest, and then they will be keeping us into the lower 40s and then this there is a le pressure system that rides along this precipitation starts to fall, we will get light rain, we might be seeing mix to the north and north of that in the poconos, some snow, where there could also be rain, snow, freezing rain. So just a variety of conditions, none of which will be heavy in our area. This computer model says about an inch through philadelphia and that is on the high side but, just assume that is probably the worst of it. Maybe the real worst of it the though could be any kind of slippery conditions that we might encounter as well. To the north of that a little bit more. Not a big snowstorm. In fact these computer models right through the the end of this thing, r pm says a tenth of an inch of snow in philadelphia. The highest one is the the euro at. 7 have of an inch of snow. That is not bad at all. Nicole, we will be happy to come and shovel any walk. Oh no sorry nicole what am i thinking. Geese carol. So, we are looking, were looking at sunday afternoon we end up with maybe a couple of rain showers even in the poconos. Temperatures will be climbing a little will bit but also you cannot rule out that mix coming in and then by monday morning this computer model says were dry through philadelphia but by 8 00 oclock in the morning we will start to see some of this, maybe this freezing rain coming down. But just watch it through this time period. This is 1 00 oclock on monday with snow to the north rain to the the south do we still see a mix through philadelphia, that transitions over to snow and some of that colder air comes in here and then gets out of here later on monday night. And then by tuesday were left with windy with you very dry conditions. For today 43 degrees. Lets enjoy this. It gets even warmer tomorrow which is nice. 32 degrees for the temperature tonight. Tomorrow we could be close to 50 degrees, that would be lovely. We do start to watch though precipitation in the further north you are more likely you are to find some of that earlier in the the day. A and then we will get some rain freezing rain some sleet, maybe not a lot of it the but just watch word for walking and driving on monday and then of course, bring those pets inside on a cold, wet the day. And then by tuesday it is gone 38 degrees wednesday 40. We will get cold at the end of the week. Nicole 22 degrees on friday and we have morning wind chills below zero. Okay.
