there and then left the scene, victim was taken to the hospital, we don't know his condition at this time, but no word yet on a suspect. seven navy sailors are missing this morning after a u.s. warship collide weighed merchant ship near japan. american and japanese crews are now searching for those victims. cbs news correspondent don champion has details. >> reporter: u.s.s. fitzgerald, collided with a philippines flagged merchant ship early saturday morning off the coast of japan and at lee one of the injured crew was air lift by a japanese coastguard helicopter. the navy reports that the ship 's captain ace monk those hurt, commander bryce benson who has been evacuated from the badly damaged destroyer. the fitzgerald sustained damage below waterline on a starboard size partially flooding the war ship and its propulsion is limited. japanese maritime defense vessels and japanese coastguard rushed to the ailing destroyer to stabilize it. the u.s. navy dispatched at home now a search for two teenagers who vanish while swimming in the ocean off atlantic city is a recovering mission. both disappeared around 6:00 thursday night. authorities say 15 year-old raymond quinn tried to rescue clea hand after caught in the rip current near a jetty off doctor martin luther king boulevard. they both vanished in the water and never re-surfaced, hand's family says it brings them some comfort to know her friend tried to save her in my eyes he is my sister's hero and my family hero. he didn't to have jump in to try to save her but did he what he did out of the kind ness of his heart and i appreciate that and that are. >> rescue crews suspended search effort around 11:00 friday morning they were hampered by fog and rich ocean minnesota police office shore fatally shot philando castille during a traffic stop last year has been found not guilty of manslaughter. ger ran mow yanes was acquitted of two lesser charges. castille's death received wye spread him a 197 '70's car for best director as well as best picture. john avildsen was 81 years old coroners in los angeles have revealed new information, on carrie fisher's death and released yesterday, they said actress died of sleep apnea and other factors. investigators added fisher had taken multiple drugs before she died, however, they cannot say whether those drugs contributed to her death, in their backyard and this morning we don't a ton of weather watchers and i don't blame them. it is dreary out there this morning. we are seeing 67 degrees, and lou's house today up in eagleville, again, cloud cover for him, and as we get up, just not that far down the road 68 degrees this morning in jerry's house, in blue bell , and that cloud cover out there 68 degrees and his comment is thin cloud cover out there, this is usually the kind that is with the sunshine and while i tend to agree we will not see, a ton of sunshine today, and finally, lets get to allen in delran, it is also 68 degrees there. what does he say, overcast, humid, bad beach day, for sure so if you are at the beach definitely maybe a day to take it inside, play a couple board games, with the family that kind of thing but overall we are watching for humidity and warmer temperatures to say the least to go with the overcast, dreary conditions, maybe a stray shower, isolated thunderstorm in the mix as well. we are seeing that this morning and it will be lasting throughout the day. at least those shower chances, spotty showers on our saturday here. temperature for the most part have helped steady, in the mid to high 60's to lower 70's across the area we have been staying in the zero seven's in delaware all morning long, wilmington, dover at 70. 72 degrees. sixty-eight in philadelphia. sixty-eight toward millville area the cool air in mount pocono 62 and looking shy of 70 degrees right now along the shore, in ac and in wildwood. those dew points are high, it is a muggy morning for us, it will remain, on the humid and muggy side as we go throughout the day-to-day and expect a little bit of fog out there to , while burning off slightly it will be cause something problems for us throughout the afternoon and not a ton of sunshine and it means that fog will not completely burn off. storm scan three showers and thunderstorms now moving into southwestern part of the new jersey. we will keep an eye on. that there is low pressure off to the west and this frontal system will track east, giving us a chance for some strong, maybe potentially severe weather as we head into early next week. future wet they are morning and in the early afternoon hours, again, scattered showers and thunderstorms, throughout the entirety of our day, and cloud cover out there through the entire saturday as well, and chances for rain will dip as we go through nighttime hours tonight. so that is good news for us. we will then see a few more showers earlier in the day on sunday up in the poconos and maybe even a little bit of sunshine break go through the cloud through south jersey on our sunday morning, that is good news as well. we will hopefully see a little bit of sunshine mixing with the cloud cover sunday afternoon here in the philadelphia area and a few spotty showers, maybe isolated rumble of thunder possible for sunday on fathers day as well but those chances much lower then what we have on our saturday. we are looking for our front to come in monday and monday night and that will be the one that we will keep an eye on, that cold front could bring some strong, to may be possiblely severe as city officials updated media on the search hampered all day by fog. >> this is really the sad day since i have been in office for me personally. >> just two children who god has decided their time has come. >> reporter: atlantic city has dealt with several drownings after life guard left for the day, city officials say this highlights need for people to swim only on protect beaches. >> it is just not safe to swim >> atlantic city beach patrol typically shuts down until july 4th when they extend hours to 8:00 p.m. on select beaches but because of this incident they will continue hours until 8:00 at mlk boulevard, starting now. again, they urged everyone only swim, when life guard are on duty. in atlantic city, cleve bryan, cbs-3 "eyewitness news". developing overseas u.s. navy destroyer has collided with a merchant ship, off the coast of japan, seven sailors were missing. u.s. military officials, say that two crew members, including the captain, have been evacuated from the u.s.s. fitzgerald. aerial footage shows heavy damage to the mid right side, military officials say there has been some flooding there as well, navy, japanese coastguard are working to stabilize badly damage ship, the exact number of the injuries is still being determined. authorities continue to search for survivors, after the high rise fire in london that has now killed at lee 30 people. relatives of the dozens, still missing have blanketed the area with posters of their loved won and others leaving word of condolence near the scene. the greenfell to your housed 600 people in 120 courage, via song in, germantown, cherri gregg for kyw news radio for cbs-3 "eyewitness news". well, we're waking up this morning across the delaware valley, dreary, conditions, for many others, including for our eyewitness weather watchers, up on this saturday morning, giving us an idea is what going on across the area, temperatures for the most part , mild, we're in the 60's to around 70 degrees this morning, and lets check with maryann in browns mills, 67, and cloudy for her, but she's saying that it is warm this morning, warmer and cloud are overhead and calm start to the day that is for sure, and, then we will go down to delores, as well, she's down in newark this morning at 70 degrees. it is warm but we are already starting to see, a little bit of light drizzle, falling in northern delaware as well. check out southern delaware down at the beach in rehoboth, it is a foggy, it is a dreary, it is just a overall, kind of miserable start to saturday, at the beach points, not just in delaware but as we head up the coast in south jersey as well, fog out there even though it is warm, muggy and not really nice morning beach weather. there have been a couple folks , moving down the boardwalk but overall, don't expect a whole lot of people and we will get up to, 86 degrees. we are on 83. we're comparable to where we should be for middle of june, as we get to july and august we will see that 86 today, close tore our average high we will get in the middle of july , average for july 17th is 87. by the time we get into august we are back down in the mid 80 's. we're where we need to be but, and, back today, sunday and then into monday, as well. temperatures, out there, we will be sitting in the mid to high 60's. and 69, and wildwood, zero seven's, and dover and that is the warm spot down into delaware, throughout the morning and that has not changed, at all, throughout our show here this morning. satellite and radar picture is an area of low pressure down into the mid planes out toward kansas city, warm front up to the north, and showers and thunderstorms attached to that low pressure and then eventually track east, and it will head north as it does, bringing a warm front through first and then we will be watching for warmer temperatures sunday and monday and while the front comes through on monday and tries to cool us down another impulse, shortwave out there, out toward rockies, that will come through as we head into wednesday, tuesday, quiet but another round of showers and thunderstorms on the way, right on the heels of that first one. our potent cold front is on the way, low travels north, brings with it a chance for some showers and thunderstorms on monday. the front will clear the state and clear the region as we head through monday night and into tuesday but what does this mean for us (it means high heat and hugh humidity over the weekend. again, warm front presidential through first, we will get a southerly flow as we go through sunday and monday and then as we get toward our monday and noon time frame that front will get closer, we will get compressional heat ago this air gets pushed together, and it heat up and so we will probably see 90 or so by the time we get in the early portions of the workweek on monday that front will sweep through on monday afternoon, showers and thunderstorms, some of them could be strong to severe. here is our severe threat from our storm prediction center, they are saying an enhanced risk for other day three outlook across the delaware valley, as we head closer to the shore points though we will get a little bit of a tapering off of that severe weather threat, because of the ocean does temper things, and that is good news for folks along the shore but we are still keeping an eye on our monday with that front, coming through, strong wind, potential, and heavy rain, fall, 86 degrees, dipping it down to 73, through the overnight hours, tonight and check it out 90 degrees on sunday and monday, and then a little bit cooler on the back side of the front but there is our impulse coming through after the cold front as well, wednesday another chance for a shower. >>
