Also new you this morning, crews take another shot at removing iconic pnb letters from the top of the philadelphia high rise, now over the summer workers attempted to remove letters but you ran into a problem. Eyewitness News Reporter Syma Chowdhry is live, with more on that story, same, it is happening as we speak, um. That is right nicole, give me a b. That is what they have been saying all day, pnb, these letters are an iconic part of the philadelphia sky line and they are being removed. Second time is a charm hopefully. These letters, they first a attempted to try to remove them back in august but it turns out the letters were in such poor shape that it was actually very dangerous to remove them without a plan in place. Crews had to return today to try to remove these letters. These letters they started a half an hour ago and it is moving real fast. So far the chopper has removed the pnb that faces east side, the pnb that face north side. Now they are working on the pnb that face the west site. Back in august they managed to take down three letters that were facing the south side before they realized it was too dangerous to continue. Were here on 15th and chestnut. That is because the helicopter is actually taking the letters one by one to 15th and market and dropped it off where crews are receiving the letters, so they can dispose of them. And then the chopper will then return and take the last letter that is standing there. That is the the n, the very last one that is there. They have managed to remove all of the letters so far. Dont forget they also to have remove the bases that were holding the letters as well. So their job is in the done just yet but i have to say they are moving along. They startedded a half an hour ago and they managed to remove the the letters. They are doing it safely. Kudos to them. Nicole, i have to mention, being from south jersey and philadelphia, turf say these letters seeing them in longer on that high rise is a little bit sad for me and philadelphians in our area will miss seeing the pnb up there but, in time, it is time for a new future for that building. Philadelphia national bank, that is what pnb stood for. No longer exists. So it is time to say good bye to those letters. As you you can see is there only one letter left, obviously crews doing a fast job removing these letters. Maybe they will be new letters up there. Live, Syma Chowdhry, for cbs3 Eyewitness News you get used to seeing something on that sky line, sad to see it go. Thanks very much. The innovators and inventors at comcast labs are creating more possibilities for more people every day. Comcast. Bringing media and Technology Together for you. Back now on Eyewitness News, with an inside look into the real life local murder case that captured headlines. The killing of olympic wrestler dave shut by millionaire john du pont. It is new in the big screen. Fox catcher is out in limited release but before you see it, find out what really happen. We will go deep inside that case as our Natasha Brown talks exclusively with key players who were there in the middle of it all. Reporter in january 1996 john du pont, heir to the Du Pont Company chemical fortune drove to the guest house on fox catcher form in Newtown Square and shot and killed 36 yearold David Schultz. Schultz a wrestling Gold Medalist lived there with his family and trained like hundreds of other athletes at the the estate run by du pont. A moment that brought richard shulberg a Swimming Coach with the fox Catcher Program at the time to his knees. John du pont shot and killed dave schultz and i fell to the ground. Reporter stunned to collapsed richard spent ten years coaching at world class athletic facility built by du pont, a Team Fox Catcher banner still hangs on the wall at Germantown Academy where he has coached swimming for four decades. I loved the guy because he helped so many kids. I loved dave schultz. On that day i lost two really close friends. Reporter world would come to know a different john du pont in the days following murder, increasingly different man who held police at bay at fox catcher farm. Swat team members 40 marksmen are still surrounding the mansion about a mile down this lovely road. Reporter joe met getty and Dennis Mcandrews were prosecutors on the case. We have a extraordinarily wealthy, multi millionaire, expert marksman barricaded in a 47 room mansion on a hundreds acres estate with high powered weapons and armored personnel character in the garage and perhaps 50 caliber machine gun. I said this will not be good. Reporter du pont was lured out, fund to be mentally ill but competent to stand trial despite what prosecutors considered an elaborate act, and seeking insanity. He, to me, was a total participant in setting up an insanity defense by parading him, looking crazy and crazy, more unkept with each court hearing. Reporter heart broken Nancy Schultz followed proceedings intensely. Giving america hope. Reporter her tragedy transferred into a hollywood move which steve carol port trailing steve du pont, mark as her husband David Schultz and channing tatum, is mark, also a wrestler training at du ponts facility. Nancy told our Ukee Washington on talk philly about the big screen transformation of her most dark day. John du pont was a very controlling person. He wanted to have the attention of or actually have the the quality that other people gave like mark and dave and he could not have that. So it was a strange dynamics, and in the film dave tries to get in between mark and john, and they are having a lot of difficulty working with each other. Dave gets in the middle. It creates an monthsty and tension between the two of them. Reporter du pont died in prison in 2010 but those who know this case intimately hope life he took David Schultz life will be lasting memory behind this saga. What is genuinely a great person David Schultz was to all of those who know him as i never did but from that so many stories about his just genuine qualities as a good human being. Reporter Natasha Brown, for cbs3 Eyewitness News. You can catch our interview with the director of fox catcher and more right now on our web site at cbs philly. Com and click on entertainment. New this morning, well, it only took two tries but it appears to have work, iconic pnb letters from the top of the philadelphia high rise have been taken down. Eyewitness News Reporter Syma Chowdhry is live in center city with more, syma, you saw it all go down, right. Reporter i did, it is much more quieter now you then it was earlier. Taking a look behind me one South Broad Street that high rise is looking a little name new because letters pnb, have been removed. Now, crews tried to do this back in august and they managed to get three letters off on the south side of the building and then they realized that the letters were in bad shape so they had to try again, second time is a charm. So now we are looking at video of what it looked like when a helicopter crew was hovering over the building removing the letters, within by one. They removed the p, the n, and b, in that order. They went to the north side removed those letters in opposite way, and then they came on the west side and took down the letters. So now there is in more, pnb letters on top of the building, and there is a lot of road closures because the helicopter was bringing them down one by one near 15th and market street. So we still have a lot have of road closures in this area but the main attraction, is gone, now and that was a lot have of people watching the local helicopter just taking letters one by one which are now gone. Now wells fargo was responsible for those letters and felt that the letters were in bad shape to begin with. That is why they wanted to take it down and then back in august when crews did come there to take it down they realizedded they were in worst shape and they had to come back with the plan b, a couple months ago wells fargo spokesperson says they have in plans honorary placing the letters but now we are just going to get used to looking at that naked sky line. I know philadelphians have been used to those letters but unfortunately it is all gone. Live from center sit the eye, Syma Chowdhry for Eyewitness News. Syma, thanks. They are not employees of the hospital, which blows my mind. Reporter growing number of hospitals hire outside companies to provide emergency room doctors, who have their own arrangements with insurance companies. So patients get separate bills. Both in and out of Network Charges. It is not fair to the patient. Thirtysix wilmington. 32 degrees in trenton at this point. Still well below freezing. Twentynine in the poconos. Thirtynine down in wildwood, temperatures will be coming up to day, slightly warmer then yesterday, but that is not warm. Thirtytwo in quakertown presently. Thirtytwo in pottstown. Probably getting another or 12 degrees, we should be in the upper 40s in the afternoon. We will watch this area come into our area and weve got some rain here, starting overnight for most people, and then if you are in the poconos, there is a chance you can see, some freezing rain and a or some sleet. Some icing up there, and that is time period on the Winter Weather advisory for poconos from 7 00 tonight until 9 00 tomorrow morning. For the rest of us we should get used to a dreary day to daze and then a rainy day tomorrow. But it could be milder tomorrow. But with the rain, who could tell. It is enough of this warm air gets here in time, we might find these temperatures getting into the upper 50s tomorrow, there is a chance it doesnt get quite that warm as the air gets blocked and it doesnt quite make you here, but still warmer day probably tomorrow then what we are find to go day in the upper 40s. This blue line, im surprised this doesnt have a coat on because it is so cold behind this we have got temperatures in the 30s on tuesday, the wind will be blowing, into the 30s as well, a and it is High Pressure building in here and then wednesday is almost as cold. We will keep clouds all day long.
