Not clear what the motive was but we are told 11 shots were fired in this incident. So far, there are no suspects and no arrests. There is information about a scout leaders close call with a black bear. He was attacked by the bear inside a cave, in the northern end of Buck Mountain in rock away township. One of three scouts on a field trip managed to call 911, and Eyewitness News reporter nina pinata is in rock away township nina . Units from rock away township were the first to get the frightening call from the middle schoolers. Own dads. Imagine what it was like for him to hear his father getting mauled inside this bear den. He was trapped and injured and in there for about an hour and 20 minutes before the boys and help arrived. We have a gentleman in the cave with the bear. Police say 50yearold Christopher Petronino managed to squeeze himself out of the two foot opening. Helloered himself into, unknowingly entering a bears den. The victim entered the cave, and a bleak bear quickly grabbed his foot, and pulled him further into the cave. The father is a boy scout leader and with his son and two other boys when he decided to show the teenagers the empty cave he had apparently been in two weeks ago. This time he wound up inside the cave, fighting off a bleak bear, with a rock hammer, and black bear with a rock hammer and bare hands. The victim struck the bear rock hammer. He then pulled his sweatshirt fetal position. The boys are part of boy Scout America group 69 and were not on an official boy scout outing but the boys managed to call for rescue. They took the trail mix and the fruit and the nuts that they have and they threw it at the entrance of the cave. He had good intentions to take them out there and show and adventurous and teach them outdoor skills. Im sure that is what he was doing at this time. The Port Authority telling us they are still trying to find out who wandered on to this taxi way near the American Airlines terminal, and they would like to talk to him, to find out why he was there, and how did he get by security. These same questions are being asked by a rather angry congressman who is calling for a review of the Security Breach. The Port Authority was so concerned about an intruder at jfk, they stopped all departures at one of the busiest terminals for 45 minutes. This police report, we obtained, states, report of male, walking across taxiway at terminal eight. At one point, the middle eastern man, when approached by a cargo worker, using not to report him. Sources tell us the intruder got on to the tarmac area, by jumping over one of the many places where the 100 million perimeter fence has no sensor alerts. And a supermarket shooting developing right now. A barrage of bullets inside a store in the bronx. Good evening. Violence erupting in a supermarket today. A wild scene in the bronx. Bullets flying. Customers heard screaming. And running for cover. Eyewitness News Reporter josh inenner in the monthaven section. You can imagine how busy they must have been in broad daylight the monday before christmas when people are doing their Holiday Grocery shopping when bullets flew through the supermarket. We will show you the video of the aftermath as crews are searching for crews and trying to get to the bottom of this. The stores owner tells me a gunman walked in looking specifically for one target and can asked if he had seen them. And when nobody had, he walked to the front of the store and spotted the target at one of unleashed, according to police, a fuselage of bullets through the store. Over the heads of countless shoppers and employees. Hitting the target at least three times. He then chased the victim through the back of the store, he wound up seeking refuge in a meat locker. Where paramedics were able to tend to him. The gunman ran away. Here is how eyewitnesses described the chaotic scene. Six gunshots. The people started running out of the supermarket. The guy has no morals. Kids in the store. Right around christmas time. Thinking about themselves, not about other people. And the victim in this case was hit three times, according to police, in the back and the legs. He was taken to lincoln hospital, we are told he is expected to survive his injuries.
