Fire erupted at a Delaware County tavern early this morning forcing customers and employees to flee. Investigators tell us that fire started as a grease fire just after midnight in the kitchen of the tollhouse tavern in norwood. The fire good into the ventilation system and quickly spread. Everyone got out safely but the building is a complete loss. It took firefighters about two hours to get it under control. Traffic gridlock following a deadly crash overnight on the George Washington bridge connecting north jersey to manhattan. Look at this backup. The man arrested in a sniper scare near new yorks lincoln tunnel has ties to philadelphia. Donald wallace has an arrest record in pennsylvania and his last known address is in west philadelphia. Police say wallace called 911 tuesday night saying, quote, the d. C. Sniper is here in your city. They say he claimed there was a gunman on the roof of a lumberyard in north jersey overlooking the lincoln tunnels. Authorities swarmed the scene and later arrested wallace after he left his cell phone on. A bucks county family is fighting to bring home their loved one. Devon butler and some other men were arrested for gun smuggling even though they had permits for the five guns they were carrying as protection against pirates. A security researcher said that stolen data from that restaurant chain was taken between march and may of this year. They first noticed a problem when the data showed up on the same online black market where millions of stolen target cards were sold last year. An important recall. Toyota is recalling more than 766,000 vehicles because the air bag can catch fire. In some cases not work at all during a crash. Toyota says the original recall was announced last year but some of the faulty devices were missed because of incomplete serial numbers. So toyota is renotifying owners about which models may be affected. The boeing company has unveiled a plan for a new type of space shift that can carry up to five astronauts but its competing with two other companies who are also trying to get nasas attention. Boeing is already putting test versions of the ship through tough tests dropping it on land and water. If the United States decides to buy the ship, it will be built here in a hangar that once housed the space shuttles. More than 1,000 tons of shuttle equipment has been removed from the hangar. The new ship can carry up to five astronauts. Its pretty roomy in here, but the most important advancement, every astronaut who climbs in here has a lot better chance than in the old space ships of climbing back out alive. Right now the clock is ticking toward a possible strike by septas Regional Rail workers. 126,000 suburban commuters could be affected if that strike happens saturday morning. Septa said as the current cooling off period expires friday night, it will lock in the same raises given to other Regional Rail workers. Workers say that isnt acceptable because they havent been aurd the same deal. The final lound of talks is set for tomorrow. Happening now, septa is holding a rally to kick off its overnight Subway Service beginning this weekend. That would not be affected by a strike. The Pilot Program will officially start sunday morning just after midnight. Now, this will replace the bus Service Currently running during the Early Morning hours on saturdays and sundays. Septa officials are also talking about a new wifi service thats now available at most stations on the broad street line. Today pennsylvania senator bob casey is going to call on congress to pass a bill to improve the safety of trains carrying crude oil. Now, this comes after several train derailments in pennsylvania, including this one in philadelphia that had an oil car over the Schuylkill River there. This new bill would provide funding for new rail and Hazardous Materials inspectors. It would ensure that railways are properly maintained and hopefully prevent future accidents. We have new information for you now about the safety of bridges in delaware. A state report shows that items are being stored under several major bridges. Why is that an issue . Well, the review was ordered after engineers said a mound of dirt piled beneath the 495 bridge is what caused the support pillars of that bridge to tilt which led to the bridges emergency closure. 14 of 29 bridges that were inspected had materials or vehicles stored under them, including buses. Also more than half of those bridges have no fencing around the rightofway. Repairs to the 495 bridge will likely run through the summer. Out of our Trenton Bureau this morning comes word that confirmation hearings are set for two new Jersey Supreme Court nominees. Chief Justice Stewart rabner and superior court judge lee sullivan are expected to be confirmed on monday for a seveyear term.
