rose marmary conners. >> reporter: surprisingly it wasn't the gushing water that woke up neighbors and wasn't the commotion caused from the ground buckling on their block in front of their front doors. >> the policeman knocked on my do this morning at 6:00. he told me tove my van or lose it. >> the police officer wasth cha. we could save our cars. >> not everyone's was saved. residents tell me this minivan belongs to a neighbor who happened to be in the hospital. fortunately no homes flooded and crews shut off the flow and assess the repairs. >> this happened before on the other street, philadelphia's olney neighborhood. 18-year-old anthony waters stabbed to people at a home on north 4th street. officers say he broke into their home to steal their car before he stabbed them. the victims are both at einstein hospital in critical condition. >> it is warm out there this morning. we could see temperatures today hit the 90 degree mark. a live look now at the skyline of center the forecast for us. >> we are going to see warmer temperatures. temperatures closer to philadelphia pushing into the 90s. it will be a little cooler if you're closer to the suburbs. we're not going to see any tod with the exception of poss. take a look at all the clouds. these clouds are going to sit with us for the rest of todacld. if you take a look at our current temperatures, 70 in the poconos, 77 allentown, 80 in philadelphia. same in millville. temperatures in wilmington at 81. 77 in redding. temperatures are just going to keep climbing as we head into the afternoon well above average for us. our average for this time of year, 85 for today, 90 in the city. as we head into tomorrow, we'll actually see our temperatures dropping back down a little bit below average. what's in there. it happened during last night's storm. luckily no one was hurt. police in glouster county investigating after a vehicle struck someone. sky force 10 over the scene along parkville road. victim taken to the hospital, unclear how badly the person is hurt. we have new video out of salem county. it shows a young mother being beaten by another woman as her toddler son looked on. we want to warn you, this video is disturbing. it shows the attacker punching the mother in the face after she knocked her to the ground. the mother's young son, you see her standing right next to her, even though there are plenty of other people around watching. the toddler is the wonl one trying to intervene here. this is terrible. several times he kicks the attacker trying to stop the violence on his mom. the woman then threatens to kick the toddler in the face if he doesn't stop. fortunately this child was not hurt. the salem police wrote on his facebook page charges against this attacker are currently being filed. once the woman sets bail, the woman will be arrested and jailed. one person has died after a police stand overin atlanta county. this happened at a home where a woman called 911 saying her boyfriend had a gun and fired a shot inside. officers arrived on the scene leading to a standoff that lasted several hours. the woman wasn't hurt and no police were injured. investigators found the body of a man they have not yet released his name. philadelphia woman talked to nbc 10 about being choked, robbed, carjacked by a man. the whole ordeal captured on surveillance video. this happened earlier this month at the victim's oxford circle apartment complex. the video shows the suspect following her across the parking lot. once inside he grabs her and drags her to her suv. the robber demands more money than the woman has. he threatens to kill her unless she gets someone else to bring more money. a friend shows up with the cash. the suspect then took the money and the suv. >> i think he was waiting the first person get into the parking lot. i was in the wrong place. >> police say if you know anything about this you need to call them. state trooper shot in the line duty recovering in the hospital. corporal lloyd mike mccann killed a suspect during exchange of gunfire yesterday. they tell us when the trooper spotted the suspect and tried to pull him over, he sped away and then stopped and opened fire. corporal mccann shot twice. he should be okay. new morning, a burglar trying to steal a drier out of a home caused a gas main break. they were evacuated as a precaution but have been allowed to return home. no one here was hurt. we're checking with the police to see if the drier thief has been arrested. former clinton mayor tony mack reports to a federal prison. according to nj.com he's beginning his five-year sentence at a facility in southeastern west virginia. he was convicted of bribery and extortion. they were nabbed in a government sting where authorities say they accepted tens of thousands of dollars in exchange for development of a parking garage. a busy bridge is closed in lindenwold camden county due to a structural problem. skyforce 10 flew over the bridge on white horse on front street and station avenue. right now crews are assessing the problem. from our delaware bureau, del dot sarasota repairs to i-95 bridge in wilmington moving quickly. crews are working around the clock now all in an effort to get the bridge open by september. crews closed earlier after support columns were tilting. authoritieshee southbound lanes reopened by labor day. starting monday the greenwood avenue bridge is expected to reopen. penndot demolished the old bridge to build the new one. the project took nine months longer than anticipated. according to a new report, delaware's beaches have the country's cleanest water. dewey beach is among the best. researchers listed dewey as a superstar beach for its water quality over the past washington, d.c. supreme court limited power to make temporary appointments to high-level government jobs while congress is in recess. the court ruled president obama overstepped his authority when he invoked constitutional provision to fill spots on national labor relations board. this is in 2012. the senate was not in recess at the time. a pilot in the hospital after a plane he was flying crashed in missouri. the single engine plane went down while getting ready to land at an airport in maryland heights but then caught fire. the pilot was the only one on board. he was able to get out of the wreckage and call emergency crews even. no word on his condition or what caused the plane to go down. floodwaters continue to rise in the midwest. rivers in minnesota are at record highs causing can see, i'm now in the mississippi river. it has risen above 20 feet. that's the highest it's been in 15 years. >> incredible. this doesn't happen. you get a little flooding in the spring but this is unbelievable right here. >> forecasters expect it to crest later this evening at the seventh highest level on record. the current so strong, so much water moving so fast and so much debris being swept down the river that barge traffic has come to a virtual halt. even though the water will start receding later this evening, this water is not going to go anywhere any time fast. forecasters say it militant advances. kerry spoke in paris today saying iraq should form a government that represents unity for the country. earlier he visited baghdad where he asked iraqi prime minister to include sunni minorities. kerry also said russian governments need to encourage pro-russian separatist to lay down weapons and join the legislative political process. lebanese looking into a suicide bombing at a beruit hotel last night. they say the bomber and his accomplice, who survived, were citizens of saudi arabia of the bomber set off his explosives during a security raid at the hotel. another man questioned by agents at the hospital. this was the third suicide bombing in lebanon in less than a week. today we're learning more about the search for missing malaysian flight 370. right now crews shifting their search farther south in a remote section of the indian ocean. this new search the cover a 23,000 mile area. also today officials said it is highly likely the plane was on autopilot when it went down. the plane vanished back on march 8th with 239 people on board. a missing boy found yesterday in the basement of his detroit home is now being evaluated by doctors. 12-year-old boy had been subject of an intense search for more than a week. doctors found him in a basement room confined to a two-by-four space. the boy's grandmother said she doesn't think he was in the basement the entire time he was missing and police agree. >> they went all over the house. they searched and searched. >> we're not certain charlie was here during those visits, not at all. the question i ask, how could we miss him. >> the boy's father said he was just as surprised as anyone the boy was in the basement. police say the father took a polygraph test while his son was still missing. dozens of concertgoers got sick in boston. police say a lot of people showed up drink at the garden and had to be taken to the hospital. more than 80 people treated at the show, more than 35 others wen to the hop. police believe a mix of dehydration and alcohol. the concert featured a swedish d.j. playing house dance music. a nanny in new york faces charges after leaving a child in a hot car while she allegedly shoplifted items from a store. police say the nanny locked a 3-year-old girl in the car before heading into a target tuesday afternoon. about a half hour later a passerby noticed the child and called police. officers say the girl was sweati hot while temperatures reached 100 degrees. a little girl was treated for dehydration. >> it's very sad. sad that this girl would do that to may have been a factor. california family shaken after they were caught in the mission of a gunbattle involving police. that was the scene in san bernardino county. chris miller, his pregnant wife and son saw and heard the firefight play out. undercover officers were shooting at a man in the desert. the man was eventually killed. miller says he's just glad his family didn't get hit by gunfire. members of the house and senate present add congressional gold medal to israeli president shimon perez. this about an hour ago at the capital rotunda. congress gave him for his role in israel. in is his final trip before leaving office. the 94-year-old is leaving his post next month. happening today, the president traveling to minnesota on the first of a series of trips to meet people who have processes so this never happens again. gm stopping sales of its top selling car the chevy cruz. gm told dealerships not to sell 2013 and 2014 models until they fix a problem with the airbags. they are working with supplier of defective bags to identify which vehicles are affected. national corvette museum in kentucky plans to preserve part of a sinkhole that swallowed eight cars earlier this year. we did this story. the board museum voted to fill part of the giant hole but will leave a 25 by 45 foot section open so visitors can see into the cave. the museum says it might put one of two of the wrecked corvettes back in the hole. the reason they are keeping the sinkhole, attendance has gone through the roof as people visit the museum to get a glimpse of it. >> for the first time in memory, the vatican admits many catholics ignoring its teachings on sex and personal relationships and blaming its brees for the problem. vatican officials say they reached the conclusion after studying
