Police tell us he was caught on camera inside a rest stop along the garden state parkway in Lacey Township. Right now, police are still searching for him. Heres where that rest stop is. Its about 15 miles from barnegat where buckle was spotted last week, 50 miles northeast of the ancora unit at bay side state prison. He broke out last tuesday where he was serving a sentence for aggravated assault. Matt delucia is live this morning. Sunrise about 15 minutes ago. Much lighter outside. Is this search intensifying . It definitely seems that way, vai and tracy. Within the past 30 minutes weve seen more activity at the Service Plaza where all of this happened last night. I can tell you police have been scouring the woods throughout the night. Ill step out of the way. You can see just in the distance on the garden state parkway, this would be the southbound traffic where those police lights, flashing lights are right there. We see canine units there by this wooded area. Its a large wooded area by the forked river Service Plaza. Police2 uaz both lacey townshi and Berkeley Township are helping. They stepped up patrols but are tell residents there are no known danger at this time. You can see there are more vehicles out here in the distance. This entire parking lot almost being taken over by state police and local police as they continue to search for arthur buckle at this hour. They have Surveillance Video of arthur buckle at the Service Plaza, 9 30 last night. Police say buckle used an employees cell phone around the burger king inside and gave the phone back and left. Overnight, police have been using those canine units, searching the woods, theyve been searching on the ground, from the air. Arthur buckle as we mentioned he escaped from prison last week, days before he was scheduled to be up for parole. As i mentioned, several towns have been involved in this search this morning. We expect a little bit more information in the way of a plan from police later on this morning as to what the next steps will be. Were also trying to find out if schools will be open as well. Both berkeley and Lacey Townships put out an alert to residents saying there is no known danger to any of the residents at this time. When police got to the home they found the woman dead, her four children sleeping in the house. No sign of the suspect. While on the run, police say the man called 911. They used his cell phone signal to track his whereabouts. He was arrested just before 5 00 near thompson and cumberland, port richmond. 50 degrees outside today. The Norristown Fire Department and the red cross will be handing out and installing free smoke detectors after a fire over the weekend kilm three people including a child. Last night the university revealed it paid out settlements to Jerry Sanduskys accusers for alleged abuse dating back to 1971. Thats 40 years before the former assistant football coach was arrested. This is the first time penn state confirmed just how far back the settlements went. The school has paid more than 90 million to settle more than two dozen civil claims against jerry sandusky. The revelation comes as University President eric baron blasted new allegations involving sandusky and the late joe paterno. Last week, Court Documents surfaced suggesting paterno was told back in 1976 that sandusky abused a child on campus. In a letter to the Penn State Community baron wrote about what he called a media frenzy. Baron wrote i want you to know i am appall by the rumor, innuendo and rush to judgment that have accompanied the media story surrounding these allegations. He was picked up by the cameras here. This was brand new within the last half hour. Lacey Township Police giving us new information as well. Theyve been told by the state police that arthur buckle indicated a desire to turn himself in and he had been making ornaments through family and the state police involving this rest area but walked away before police arrived. Based on that image, arthur buckle is appearing to be clean shaven, last seen wearing a gray Long Sleeve Shirt and gray work boots. Reporter seaver says she was told by a new jersey tax representative that the problem dated back to 1989. Thats when the new Jersey Department of treasury says it overpaid seaver by 112. But no ones been able to tell her how that number grew to the nearly 1,200 figure the state kept from her refund. Im no clearer on what they did than i was when i started it.
