Bring us up to speed on this. Reiterate really good news just in time for the morning rush. Southbound on 611 passes by freedoms way. This area was closed off for hours overnight. Just within the last hour southbound lanes have reopened to traffic. Unfortunately the northbound side crews are still on the scene working hard to clean up whats left of this fuel spill. It was a massive one. 4,000 gallons of fuel spilled on to route 611 and seeped into the storm sewer system. Seeped the driver of the tanker truck was sent to the hospital with minor injuries. 75 People Living in the raerl were sent to red cross shelter set up inside a school because of concerns over the fuel. They have since been allowed to return home. Im told investigator are looking into whether black ice and slick Road Conditions played a part into the crash that happened around 8 00 last night, and, of course, led to that tanker overturning and spilling the 4,000 gallons of fuel it was hauling. About two hours ago the cab of the tanker truck, the back part, they were removed from the scene. Weve been seeing a lot of activity in that sense. As well as the hazmat situation here has been scaled back. We are told that it should, the northbound side of things, should reopen during the morning rush.
