Yesterdays high temperature, 293 degrees. Officially the first heat wave of this year, 2017. We hit 91 on wednesday, 93 on thursday and 93 on friday. Today, much different. Were seeing only upper 60s as our expected high temperatures. But right now, Doppler Radar picking up on some isolated showers moving through parts of the delaware valley. We were seeing a pocket of showers moving through parts of allentown and just to the west of reading, some showers moving in from west to east. This is not going to be a washout, but we do have some moisture in the atmosphere, so be mindful of that. Keep the umbrella hand yy. Right now were seeing temperatures in the upper 60s. And northeasterly wind, 16 Miles Per Hour. So we do have cooler air as far as the influence is concerned across our area, so, again, a cooler day in the works. And in and around philadelphia neighborhood, seeing mainly 60s. We have 64 degrees for somerton. Fox chase at 66. Society hills, 68. And bustleton, current temperature, 65 degrees. The Lehigh Valley seeing some cooler numbers. Lots of mid to upper 50s. Allentown, 58. White hall, 58 degrees. And bethlehem, also seeing upper 50s. The trend for the next couple of days, unfortunately, much cooler than we have been seeing. So, again, topping out in the 60s for today and tomorrow. This morning, Philadelphia Police are searching for a pair of men who shot a 2yearold boy in the citys kensington neighborhood. Matt delucia is live with an update on the toddlers conditions and an update on the investigation. Matt . Reporter rosemary, that 2yearold is in critical condition. He was shot four times in the back. Police believe, though, it was the boys father who was the intended target. He took a shot to the knee last night. The shooting happened around 9 15 on the 3300 block of malta street in kensington. Police say two men rode by on bikes and fired those shots while the father and son were on the porch. Neighbors heard the gunfire commotion outside. Makes me want to cry, because, you know, its a baby. Its not something that you want to hear from nobody. You know, especially, you know, someones kid, that you were out there just barbecuing or doing whatever else with where are kids, trying to have fun, and your kid winds up getting hurt. Again, that boy is in critical condition. As of now, police are telling us, theyre still looking the for the two shooters believed to be in their 20s. One was wearing a white vest, the other, a red shirt. Both were wearing cutoff jeans or shorts and fled on their bikes. Live outside st. Christophers this morning, im matt delucia, nbc 10 news. Thank you, matt. New this morning, sky force 10 over the search for a teenager who vanished in the Delaware River last night is now a recovery effort. Nbc 10 was also ground level in philadelphias torresdale neighborhood. The 15yearold disappeared off lyndon avenue. Were sold he went swimming with three other teens last night, the others returned to shore. In brooks county, we continue to monitor interstate 78. Four tractortrailers and a car were involved in this crash in leonardsville last night. At this hour, the eastbound lanes of i78 are still shut down. These pictures from an nbc 10 viewer show the smokey scene. One person suffered burns. Two others were injured. Lets head now to Delaware County where police have a driver in custody following a chase and crash. Sky force 10 was over west Fourth Street in chester where that crash happened last night. The driver was wanted for leaving a hitandrun accident at 13th and killman streets. The driver had minor injuries. Staying in Delaware County, an arraignment is set today for the murder of his girlfriend. Crystallin thomas was found dead at the scene. Police tell us the victims mother discovered her daughters body yesterday morning. Investigators believe an argument between thomas and moses led to the deadly shooting. Yesterday, we spoke to a relative and a neighborhood. Being arrested will never bring crystallin back, okay . But give him what he deserves. Its really heartbreaking that Something Like that would happen to somebody that was really that goodhearted. The victims children are now with their grandmother. Darby police say neighbors gave officers leads on the suspect. Now to some news overseas. You are looking at President Donald Trump arriving in saudi arabia a short time ago. Its the first stop on his nineday trip to the middle east and europe. Also his first overseas trip in office. Today the president is expected to meet with saudi leaders and sign several agreements on security and economic cooperation. Now, back in washington, former fbi director james comey will testify before the Senate Intelligence committee in an open session. The chairman said comey will appear some time after memorial day. Senators want to hear about comeys role in the investigation of russian interference in the 2016 election. President trump, as you may remember, fired comey last week. Todays New York Times reports that President Trump called comey, quote, a real nut job to Russian Diplomats during their visit to the Oval Office Last week. The report also says the president boasted that firing comey eased the pressure on him from the russian investigation. Mr. Trump has denied any collusion or improper action involving russia. Also, the Washington Post is reporting that the investigation into russias meddling into the election has reached the west wing. The post reports the probe is focusing on a Current White House official whose identity has not been revealed. This morning, were learning more about the driver accused in this deadly crash in new york citys times square. Prosecutors say Richard Rojas was high on marijuana and pcp when he plowed his car into the crowd on thursday. He reportedly told police he wanted to, quote, kill them all. In a 2012 police report, investigators say rojas told police in florida that he wanted to kill officers. Rojas is now charged with murder and 20 counts of attempted murder in the crash. It was passengers and crew members who worked together to subdue a man who tried to rush the cockpit on an American Airlines plane. The flight was headed from los angeles to honolulu yesterday. Police say a Flight Attendant blocked his way by jamming a serving cart in the aisle. Passengers helped duct tape hum to a seat. The first class attendant was just i would never want to go against her. She was she was tasked with keeping him out of there and she did a great job. The plane eventually landed in honolulu with a military jet escort and Police Arrested the man. Authorities say it appeared he had been drinking. Filing for divorce. Thats what the wife of former new york congressman Anthony Weiner did just hours after he pleaded guilty to sexting with a 15yearold girl. Weiners wife is huma abedin, Hillary Clintons former senior aide weiner cried in court while apologizing for his behavior. He told the judge he has a sickness, but theres no excuse. Weiner added that he destroyed his lifes dream of public service. He will be sentenced in september and will have to register as a sex offender. Back here in our area, a teen has turned himself into police after this Surveillance Video caught him waving a gun inside of a septa train. Were told the 17yearold surrendered after seeing the video on television. Police say the teenager pulled the gun when he got into a fight on the market frankfort line just last week. In the Lehigh Valley, neighbors are still wondering why the fbi raided a house and arrested two people yesterday. Agents also took away atvs and motorcycles. This happened early yesterday morning in salisbury township. The fbi will only say this is part of an active investigation. Federal agents took a man and woman into custody. They say as many as ten people lived in this house, including children, who were taken away by county officials.
