So there are a lot of different types of stress I think for most people they think about Percy stress and that can be various types of stressors So whether it's financial stress or work stress or stress about health or even grieving and losing a loved one so there's a lot of different types of stress and unfortunately it seems to be more common nowadays than ever before does seem to be that way and of course we hear all the stories about you know road rage and all this other stuff and people getting stressed out there's physical stress there's mental stress is all kinds of stresses the stress of worrying about money and so again what are the physiological changes that our bodies go through one when stress is problem well if you think about what happens when we're in a fight or flight you know that's really what is happening when our body is perceiving any kind of stress so you know we're supposed to have a stress response is for survival mechanisms if we were doing counter affair in the Far East we need to have a mechanism to run away but the problem is nowadays we're in this sympathetic fight or flight much more frequently than we should be and our bodies are not designed to operate that way we should be in a parasympathetic war Reston digesting much more often so if you think about what happened to you in a fight or flight our heart is going to race or our pulse is going to be higher our blood pressure increases and then over time because of the effects of the increase cortisol in our body and adrenaline and so forth then there's complications of developing increased employee Mason and elevated blood sugars and so forth and so that's really going to my next question and that's a very good point on Fight or flight because that is a survival instinct too many people now are experiencing not on almost a daily basis or shouldn't but how stressed out do does one have to be for it to impact our health negative light. Cut off you were talking about stress and I have one question I want to ask is is anxiety part of this stress syndrome or is it a separate issue. 1st some people it can be a completely separate issue and unrelated but I find that oftentimes anxiety is certainly a component that becomes common during times of stress hard so it's all part of it as well and we did discuss a little bit here at the on the outside of the show about you know physiological changes to your body your heart rate increases but there are other things that your body goes through as well Dr and how does stress harm our health and one of the symptoms can we look for from you know having mistrust induced physiological changes right so I mean for some people they might start to distant notice some relatively benign effects like changes in energy or again you know maybe they are feeling more anxious so those are just you know some symptoms that they might feel maybe early on and then over time it's really the fact of those again physiological changes that are occurring in the body that result in harm to the body so again that raises your increased blood pressure blood sugar elevations or diabetes can develop over time cholesterol can raise over time certainly again you have the obvious heart rate you know going up and during those times that you're feeling or perceiving the stress the most Insomnia can result so I mean there really are you know from relatively benign symptoms to more serious concerns and even look you know because of the inflammation even heart disease or cancer could be related or you know your risk could be increased if you are chronically stressed and not coping well and I mentioned insomnia would not people are stressed out it really makes it difficult to fall asleep in court you don't get very good Rem one sleep and that leads to a whole separate set of health problems as well if you have your if your sleep deprived so the night would be adding insult to injury right.
