Today one civilian faced federal charges as part of the ongoing investigation. Alex lichtenstein left the federal courthouse looking for a light for his cigarette after bribery and corruption. Bond. Hes accused of paying out gun permits without proper background checks. The licenses were allegedly sold for 18,000 apiece. To people who might not have gotten them otherwise. On a tape recorded conversation, lichtenstein reportedly bragged that he had used his nypd connections to obtain 150 permits. At 6000 apiece, its believed he paid out 900,000 in bribes.
