All three armed robberies had common. Police are looking for a group of teenagers. They say the boys targeted victims including some walking in pairs including this location monday night into tuesday. Reporter police say 11 15 monday night, a park path near west 9 th street and west 96th street and west drive became a crime scene as one holding a black handgun. The victim a 33yearold queens man, the robbers took his backpack with credit cards and two phones inside. About halfhour later the crime wave continued. Around 11 49 p. M. Inside the park alongside the reservoir near 91st street the victims were two women ages 45 and 26 walking on a foot path. They told police armed young suspects threatened them with guns and stole their purses. Police say they later found a bb gun wrapped in gray duct tape along with wallets and credit cards belonging to the women. Less than an hour and a half later 1 10 a. M. Tuesday the crime scene was near 201 east 86th street and the victims were a man and woman in their 20s. They told investigators six younglooking suspects one what looked like a silver handgun stole the mans cell phone and the womans purse containing a camera, debit card, metrocard and more. An offduty nypd officer reported seeing young suspects rummaging through a purse. He went over to investigate live in central park, dave carlin, cbs 2 news. Police make an arrest in the 2014 murder of a brooklyn rabbi killed while visiting family in florida. The accused is a High School Freshman. Cbs 2s natalia zaya live in miami with the latest. They are very excited about this arrest but also speaking out today, the family of the suspect. They say he didnt do this and they say authorities are simply trying to make an arrest in this highprofile case. While 15yearold Deandre Edwin Charles sits in an adult prison on a murder charge, political heavy hitters and a myriad of police and prosecutors filed into the state Attorneys Office to trumpet the arrest. This is a prime example how prosecutors and police can work together. Reporter miamidade state dna, telephone records and this witness sketch convinced a grand jury to indict charles for the murder of brooklyn rabbi Joseph Raskin shot to death by two young men while visiting his daughter in south florida 16 months ago. He was walking to synagogue on the sabbath when tried to rob him. He didnt have any money on him so he shot and killed him. Reporter hundreds turned out for the rabbis funeral in new york as police searched for his killers. The arrest of one of those accused brings relief to his family. Reporter before racing to the emergency room, the family didnt know if paez was among those killed. She sent us a picture and a text that she was shot and, um, that was tough. Because we came to the hospital and we didnt know what the outcome would be. We just knew so many people were injured and killed and there was a good chance she was dead because we knew for a fact that she was shot. Reporter paezs family remains by her bedside at loma linda medical center. She is cracking a little bit of jokes here and there. Shes laughing and smiling. Shes just trying to keep a smile on my littles sisters that someone could be so strong to go through all that and still be able to put smiles on other peoples faces. Reporter the family was able to put it out before firefighters arrived but not before it burned their floor and melted the boards plastic parts causing severe smoke damage throughout the two story home. So after spending hundreds on a motorized board that this family never even had a second to use, they are now spending several days and thousands of dollars cleaning up the damage we had to rip up the wood floor. We had to take the drapes and furniture, everything is garbage so now we have to wash down all the walls and take all the contents out of the kitchen.
