They say a White Infiniti jumped the curb and plowed straight into that Fried Chicken restaurant, hitting two pedestrians in the process. We have video showing the car stuck in the side of the building. Hard to believe when you look at that that it was a hitand run but police say the driver left the car behind and took off on foot. And now the two victims were left with broken legs. They are being treated at long island jewish medical center. And we will have more on the story as we continue to report on this. And all of this unfolding just before 4 00 this morning. She was pronounced dead inside her second floor apartment where ems found a young child, her young child inside of the apartment with her. And were told at this hour that the suspect in this case is that childs father. We are told she was found by her boyfriend inside of her apartment. Description of the suspect,. But she was found dead a gunshot wound in the head just before 4 00 this morning. Her young child was with her at the time. And the child was taken to the area hospital to be checked out by doctors. Two people hurt and the driver is now on the run after a car slams into a restaurant in queens. Diane macedo is live the scene in Queens Village. Reporter chris and mary, we just learned that the two victims in this case are both men in their 20s and they both suffered broken legs. They are being treated for it right now. You can see the boarded up area where the car plowed into the restaurant just after hitting those pedestrians. Police say it happened a little bit after midnight that the car jumped the curb, smashed into the the side of the build asking hit those two men. And video shows at least half of the cars stuck inside the building but you might notice the drivers side door is open. And police say the driver the actually took off on foot. And they are still searching for that person. In the meantime, we have talked to people who say its really only known for vehicle traffic but known for foot traffic. We are worried that the person is still on the loose. Should take responsibility for what they have done and should stay on the scene until the cops get here and take responsibility. Because theres life at stake there and it could happen to anybody. Reporter the police are still investigating the cause of the crash and of course trying to figure out who was behind the wheel and find that person. Several hundred angry raise kents shouted down the proposal last night. It will charge 90 a year for for residentses and. Therm outraged at the fact that nonresidents will be allowed to compete for spots by paying a 200 fee. Why bay shore has to take the brunt of everybody coming in here . Why do we have to youre going to be why are the spots not just for bay shore residents . Town Officials Say its needed to help pay for better security and maintenance. Another black eye for the citys troubled schools. A principal is under investigation on charges of grade fixing. Marcia kramer says the mayor is vowing serious consequences. Reporter the high school is a struggle school, low attendance and a Graduation Rate of 45 put it on the endangered list. And now it has a new problem, its principal under investigation on charges of changing failing grades. The iron ring leader here is that the principal under deputy chancellor in the City Department of education. His job was to close failing schools. Put simply, the principal is under investigation for changing failing grades to the passing grades without the teachers consent. For example, a senior who got a noshow grade in global history reportedly got it changed to 75. And another students 55 in english reportedly changed to a 90. A failing algebra grade of 5 changed to a passing 6 5. While other grade fixing cases like that in brooklyn were reported by teacher, in this case, the department of education discovered the problem itself. My department of education initiated that investigation. And that investigation will proceed promptly and if we find any wrongdoing, there will be serious consequences. Reporter students at the high School Renewal program for failing schools were outraged. Hes going to make us look bad. 0s and now im going to be questioned.
