As we go through the next 12 hours, we are going to keep temperatures in the 50s and warming up to near 60 degrees in some spots like boston, the south shore, the cape and the islands. Were going to stay in the 50s up through northern massachusetts as well as southern New Hampshire. The big reason is this. We have clouds coming in right now. They are associated with a backdoor cold front. This cold front slowly working its way in as we head through the afternoon and into the evening. Antoinette danielle, thank you. Right now. Police want to know who left a military rocket at a New Hampshire gun shop. The situation so serious that a bomb squad had to be called in. Moments. Frank the eyeopeners john atwater has the scare and close call from pelham. Officer at first glance it obviously looks very intimidating. It looks very official. John at fourfeet long it sure gave officers a scare when they responded to one of the more unusual calls theyve ever gotten. Officer you dont know if this is, you know, a live round that at any time could explode. John police promptly called the bomb squad which xrayed the rocket and determined the massive weapon was harmless. The man who dropped it off found it while doing renovation work in his home and apparently thought this gun store was best equipped to handle it. Officer when in doubt, bring it to somebody who will be qualified or certified to look into that item. He did and the Firearms Dealer did the next best thing. They contacted the local Law Enforcement agency. John now police are trying to find that man who didnt leave his name. Its not clear how old the rocket may be, but police are relieved they didnt have to respond to its deadly power. One point and had the potential to be active and to do some damage. It would have required the throttle pushed into forward mode. But there is some cold air up there especially near concord, keene and orange. Youre holding in the 30s this morning. And you can even be waking up to some patchy fog out there so be aware of that. We do have a little bit of a wind out of the west today. That wind is going to feel anywhere from about 1015 miles an hour sustained right now. Folks. So that means our temperatures are going to warm up really nicely. So were going to 60 degrees in boston, 60 in taunton. 58 degrees in worcester. And the mid 50s up through the Merrimack Valley. I will say iforts going to be a mix of sun and clouds with more sunshine i think but more clouds are going to work their way in as we head through the afternoon. And really into the evening. You see a couple of clouds already trying to build their way in but there will be more of them. Its associated with this backdoor cold front that is dropping in. So mild air is really to the cooler. Its not cold. Its cool. Thats the big story here so were going to stay mild for the next couple of days. In fact heres what happens on our future cast. Notice that that backdoor cold front kind of comes through on saturday night into sunday. Then were going to start to bump right back up as we watch this area of low pressure thats going to bring us some monday. So tonight temperatures will drop back into the 30s and 40s nantucket. It will be mostly cloudy, i think tonight. Winds starting to shift to the north and then finally tomorrow the northeast to the east. So were going to have definitely more clouds around tomorrow. I think its the mostly cloudy day. There could even maybe be some patchy drizzle by the coastline tomorrow. Notice the temperatures running about 10 to even 15 degrees cooler than today. This is all associated with this cold front. Then were watching this area of low pressure so rain chances are now monday morning, there could be some patchy drizzle around but by monday afternoon, were start to go see more shower active. By monday night, high shower activity. In fact, there could be downpours overnight into first thing Tuesday Morning so let me show you this on the future cast here. Its all that area of low pressure. Worcester 58 degrees. By tomorrow, well be at 50 i think in boston and the upper 40s in worcester. So about 10 degrees difference. Were still running above normal though. We will take it. You will notice it when you step outside the door. Here is the reason why. We have a backdoor cold front that is slowly working its way down into our area. Right now, the cool air is up through northern new england, but it is mild across most of southern new england. And that is really where were going to stay through the day today. There has been some patchy fog out there especially in fitchburg, in nashua where visibilities are now down to about three miles. And so because of that, the temperatures this morning are starting out cooler up through the Merrimack Valley and, say, through orange where you can see youre starting at 31 degrees. But in the 50s in boston to plymouth down to the cape as well as nantucket. So it depends on where you live, what youre waking up to this morning. Now everybody should warm up through the day today. The only exception whether probably be southern New Hampshire staying in the mid 50s today. Whereas parts of southeastern mass will be up into the low 60s.
