Volunteers from aheinz 57 pet rescue were traveling from southern iowa when the storm hit. The group took to social media to ask for the publics help and within three hours, dog lovers in des moines answered the call. Eight families opened their homes to keep the pups safe and warm for the night. 15 43 31 we were kind of hunkered down for the night, watching a movie. I happened to look at my phone and saw the message from amy, said, well, were not doing anything except warm and cozy. So we thought we would just head over and see what we could do to help.
